Finally heard back from my MA. I am on the K line, Western Highway. Port of exit, South Hampton, 6/17. Didn't say when it was to arrive though. Will be getting the JCW aero kit at the port of entry. Anyone else on this boat for week 23? Thanks

 

Okay. I confess. I wasn't able to watch The Italian Job today due to circumstances beyond my reach. BUUUUT. I was able to buy the modern version just a few hours ago. Stopped by BORDERS 'cause that's the one I passed by. I asked for the classic one too but they didn't have it unfortunately, but the guy on the counter said I'll like the new version better because of my MINI... which, btw, I never told him that I'm getting one soon. Hmmm... he must've seen the look on my face when I was practically giddy handing him the DVD and grinning like crazy..

So hopefully, I get to watch it later today before I work at night.. *fingers crossed*

Talked to my MA the other day, he says he alone has six cars coming in on the Mignon! Jim being the best of them of course. The Mignon arrived at Brunswick yesterday. Looks like it's only going to be four weeks from ordering to delivery!

 

Tweeckey- hope you sell your car soon. I am getting anxious as my MINI is due in a couple days (no definite word from my MA) and I still have my car- but like you, I've gotten calls on it and one person saw it so far. You'll sell yours, especially since it's a Honda.

 

I am near Dettroit, Michigan.

Spoke with my MA finally yesterday. He said he was 'busy' at the time, but said my Maggy is due "very, very, very soon' Unfortuntely, he promised to call me in a half hour with a more specific date and didn't. . Guess I'll have to try again today if I can "multi-task"! I would like to get Maggy this week and have the weekend to motor.

I think we've changed places. Now you are the one getting info, even though we came off the same boat and are going to the dealership. No word from my 'MA' yet, but maybe today...I -have- heard from Samer, but has not returned my call.

 

tomorrow is the big day, final preparations have been made for me to take delivery. So the clock has been started. 26hr 15m and counting.

 

I've had to get very aggressive with them to get any info. Basically started calling all the MA's and their boss over there. Finally got the responses and respect I was looking for, although if they were making me a sandwich I imagine they'd spit in it. I'd suggest doing the same. We are spending a significant amount of money and should expect that we are informed during the process.

Called my MA today since I'll be traveling 3 hours to get my MINI and need a ride down there, to try and get a specific date of when it will be there/ready and my MA has the day off..... also trying to figure out if I'll have it before 4th of July cause if not I may have to skip on the family vacation....

That seems like an awful long time to be there. 9 days?! What all gets installed there for you?

Most MAs seem to be this way... It's like they're all stuck up and snub us. They get paid BECAUSE of us. You'd think they would treat us better.

So my impatience got the better of me. Thanks to Google, i found the press release that has the phone number for the NY VDC.

I called it and kept getting a repeated message of hours of 6am - 2:30pm..

So, since most businesses keep phone numbers close to the main, i just started adding one number to the last phone number digit.

Finally got someone to pick up. The guy didnt want to talk to me at first since I wasnt a dealer. I explained that I am an impatient person and didnt want to bug the dealer so many times a day and was hoping to call direct.

he grumbled for a second and said, whats the last 7 of your vin. He keyed it in and said, are you getting JCW stuff done to it. I was like yes sir. He said they were working on it as we speak

ok cool, at least that is more info than i had before...
