I keep hearing/reading amongst other threads about the "Italian Job" Movie. Forgive me for being out of the loop but I didn't know about that until my friend told me! That's why tomorrow, I'm buying the DVD and planning to spend the rest of my day off being a couch potato and watching the movie 'til the sun isn't shining anymore!

Which one's better, the classic or the new one?

Both are good in different ways. Michael Caine in the first one, Charlize Theron in the second one. watch both, so you can see a bit of classic minis and new MINIs.

I spoke with my MA this morning and he said mine is waiting for a truck in Charleston! He also said there was a big push to get owners their Minis by the end of the Month. It's the end of the quarter, So they want everything possible done to get those sales. If it's physically possible to get your car by 6-30, they'll make it happen. You might consider using this info to your bargaining advantage.

Sure hope this is the case. The OL stilll says my Maggy is 'in transit ' and I know she has been in Charleston since 6/20. Called and emailed my MA twice on Saturday and still haven't heard back from him on the Bill of Sale. If they are pushing for delivery prior to 5/30, they will have to hurry up and maybe COMMUNICATE! I really would like to get Maggy this week, but I am not holding out any hope since I haven't even heard.

Starry, my MA didn't say anything about free floor mats. I ordered the rubber mats as part of the package, so I guess I am not getting those!

Good morning all. No word yet on where mine is, last I heard was in NY- on the 20th, so it's got to be on a truck by now (in theory). Anyway we're all one day closer- for those of us still driving as opposed to Motoring!

On another note, I got 3 calls on my Alero last night and am meeting someone after work today so he can look at it for his daughter, if that doesn't work out someone else wants to look at it- yay!!!

I'm bummed! My MA called this Am to tell me Simon is still in Charleston at the VDC. However, he was processed lat night and has a scheduled delivery date of 6/24 at the dealer.

However, my MA said we could schedule the delivery for Monday (!) as a worst case. I asked what the turn-around is once they get my car and she said it varies on how many cars come in at once since they all have to go through state inspection, etc. I guess I just got excited about it coming in today and getting it today. Oh well, what's another few days?

Got to love it - new car, just completed a post production QC, VDC QC, going to get a presumptive owners QC, but after a state inspection. Lot of value added there!

Had a convo. with a Motor'er this morning about her car. She was telling me how she was driving on the expressway one time and the truck in front of her slammed on their breaks, she swerved to the left and got in the other lane but hit gravel which pulled her into the gaurd rail on the drivers side, she said she thought the side was totally banged up but got out and there was only a scratch because of how the tires are placed, they hit the rail, not her car! She said she did need some suspension work after that but it ended up being a 5 car pileup in the lane she was in and the truck that was behind her in the other lane ended up slamming into the one she was able to avoid.... the cop was confused as to why she was still there when they got to the scene because he didn't see any damage to her car. Kind of crazy. Cop said if she didn't have a vehicle with that kind of maneuverability, she would have been between two trucks.... OH and she said that the boot "fits five grocery bags perfectly, just make sure you always ask for paper because the line right up." Thought I would share another tip.

Not bad considering that I placed my order on May 30 so Monday Jun 30 is exactly 1 month from order to delivery.

Starry- right now I have mine priced quite a bit lower than KBB and put "O.B.O"- basically if I get more than the peanuts the dealer offered me I'll be happy, and so will someone else getting a good deal.

Friday or Saturday would be great so you can motor all weekend!

I've already decided to take the day off either delivery day or the day after. I don't see how I can come to work!
I'm jealous of you, but hopeful I will be motoring soon too!

Where do you live MiniMama2?

I'm in the same boat. Just waiting, impatiently I might add. I'm in Dallas, and suspect that Jack Jack is on his way here by now. I'm hoping to take delivery this week, but am not holding my breath. After hearing how long it takes some people to get their car after the dealer has it doesn't give me a lot of hope.

Mines priced about 2,000 under KBB. If you bought my car from a dealership, youd pay 3,000+ more than what im asking. I have super low miles and its in great condition. BUT.. im selling an SUV haha...

I think the same way you do. If i can get more than my trade in offer than im happy!

Ask Mini robo voice now says that Maggy is awaiting transport!!! At last discussion with the MA, he confirmed she was on the Sierra Nevada, and should have landed 6/20. He still hasn't responded to either phone or email inquiries.
Maggy was ordered on the 23rd of May and born 6/6/08. She should be here this week, but can't seem to find out when. Would be helpful if MA could let me know.

I showed my car during lunch today, it went well I think. The guy was a mechanic checking it out for a friend (who would be buying for his daughter) I'll let you know how that goes.

Honestly when I saw Charlene in the hot blue MINI, that was one of my first inspirations for wanting one! I am sure it was a stunt double but - girl can drive!!!
