I'm getting REALLY close! My MA sent me an email stating that my car is at the VDC and should be loaded on a truck shortly. She expects that my car may arrive at the dealership later this afternoon!

 

good luck getting it greg, mine showed up at the dealer last thursday, i'm still waiting to be able to take it home

I'm also fidgeting waiting for info. My car went into the NY VDC black hole on Friday the 20th. Order Tracking now shows a delivery date of 6/26/08, but my MA says it takes another two days after that to get the Certificate of Origin sent up from NY VDC (why can't they put it on the same truck that the cars are on???) I might have to wait until next week!!

 

So basically I have about a week to try and sell my car... finally got photos posted on Craigslist last night c. 11 PM and got a message this morning at 11:30 from someone wanting more info.... hope and pray I can sell it in a weeks time!

Shoot, I wis I only had to wait a week... If my car didnt get on a ship in the last couple of days, It won't even get to the POA until July 10th. I was supposed to be IN it by then hahahaha... Dang them having so much control over me!!

Well except my MA said the car hasn't been put on the delivery truck yet, so most likely it will get to the dealer tomorrow and pickup on wed. But I wont hold my breath on that.

 

I spoke with my MA this morning and he said mine is waiting for a truck in Charleston! He also said there was a big push to get owners their Minis by the end of the Month. It's the end of the quarter, So they want everything possible done to get those sales. If it's physically possible to get your car by 6-30, they'll make it happen. You might consider using this info to your bargaining advantage.

 

So how am I going to ask my MA for floor mats? since it took a week to get the car to me

 

Just say that you hear about a lot of people getting a few free items when they buy and that since you had to wait, you'd like some mats

 

And if they refuse to throw in the mats, ask them if you'll get a 'dealer satisfacation survey' from MINIUsa.

Starry, it will get easier once you know your baby is on the ship sailing across the ocean. Have you gotten word from your MA about it yet? I bet you are stressing and your MINI is enjoying the cruise.

Take a few deep breaths, and call/e-mail your MA. MINI helps to encourage this hysteria afterall, they surely can help with a little sedative!

 

I emailed him on Thursday or friday and there was no info yet for shipping. When I call ask mini or gon on any sites.. theres no info either... Im really hoping i made Kline at least... but no one seems to have any info for me! hahaha... Im going nuts!! they should give me a loner until mine comes!! hhahahahah wouldn't that be nice

I was told that it's standard for everyone to get free floor mats. Apparently, it's a courtesy that's "across the board" in every dealership. (But, there's always an exception to the standard) Man, you're lucky you don't have to wait too long for your car. My baby will sit at the VDC for 25 days, then it will be another week or two before I take delivery. Thanks to the JCW launch date, I have to wait another month!

 

UGH you will get a survey... and if you mark them lower than the best it is not good for them (that is what determine's their allocation of cars for the next month). Every single time I so much as talked to my MA I got a survey (ok I'm exagerating a little, but my point is they are survey happy and they wont stop calling you until you answer!)

 

You don't want the "free" floor mats... you want to pick out nice floor mats that they won't charge you for! There is a BIG difference!

So my brother posted my Civic on Autotrader a day ago and we've already got 3 people interested and a couple who came last night who took a look at it and said they liked it, they didn't even try to negotiate the price! My brother did all the negotiating while I went to work.. [Gotta love having a big bro!]

If everything goes smoothly, I'm thinking I'll be out of a ride for atleast the next 3 weeks 'till PeeWee arrives!
