It's a great color. That makes 6 MINIs on my block, and the one to the north.

As for mods... well, i'm waiting for numerous packages to arrive sometime soon. Trying to get my clear bra and tint sometime this week or early next. Cause i'll have lots of driving to do in Aug.
Wow, 6!

I haven't had my first wave yet.. I think people here in the OC are snubs or they're blind, or like what others have said, they just bought the MINI for the MPGs? Heheh. JK.

i feel ya there, i've yet to get a wave back. half of the ones i pass, though, are on the 10, and it's hard waving at each other when you're both going 70-80 in opposite directions. The rest are either not paying attention, like some older folks i've seen look straight ahead and never look around.

I've yet to even see the owners of the other MINIs on these two blocks.

Ok I guess in their defense, they don't look anywhere else but straight ahead while I look every which way haha.

I found the best badge holders on COOPER FLAGS.

http://www.cooperflags.com/accessories.cfm

They attach at the back, behind your licence plate, with a magnetic circle on each side. What I've read about the front ones like in the ones you linked to, (above) is that they are OK for one badge, but shouldnt cover the front too much because the engine needs the Air Flow from all that grillwork.

One holder on front should be OK, but the back is safer for multiples.

I just had an awesome chat with the guys at Mini Speed.net
I am looking for a blue and black leather "bag" for the 6 speed shifter, but one that isn't so "baggy". Does that make sense?

Anyways, they offer custom leather work, and have the patterns already. The M56 one was listed at $40 standard black with either white or black thread, but I want to surprise Matt with a blue and black one.

I found this one:
on the website, but its designed for 04-06 models. So, they're going to look at making one in blue (to match as closely as possible) the pacific blue color line, less "baggy".

Woohoo. It might take a while, but it will blow Matts socks off, the mod. shifter boot was one of the first additions he was dreaming about, way back in week 23. (Now its week 30!).

Way to go Mini Speed.net

I think my first "mod" will be removing the sun visor car seat warnings. This weekend though will be a good wash/wax and interior cleaning.

I was able to drive my MINI to work yesterday (I have a work provided vehicle that isn't the MINI) and I was 4 for 5 with people waving. The one who didn't might have waved but it was hard to see because of the sun glare. It was kind of fun having all these new friends.

Thank you. It was great! the factory put my back wiper on upside down so we had to fix that lol. But it was a great pick up.

I love it! It looks really sharp at night. I'll try to snap some photos of it for you tonight.

gem: I had a post yesterday but thankfully some guys discovered during our lunch break when I was showing them the "paint bubbles" that they are actually dozens of tiny little clear sap drops that LOOK like the paint is raised but it is not, they wipe off so Ziggy just needs a good bath- WHEW!

We got our stubby antenna from MossMINI.com. it's a little different from others I saw, and I really like it. It came with two thread pieces (I think for an R53 or R56) and three "black inserts" to adjust the total size. Here's a photo:

For a badge holder, I like the one from CooperFlags - double holder, mounts on the rear license plate.

Starry, do you have any more pics of Nova? I am waiting on my AB/AB MCS that is spec'd out very similar to yours...punch leather, anthracite headliner, white turn signals, nav. It was great to see your JCW aero kit too. I am planning on getting the blackout grille and was afraid it would make the car "too black" in the front. Yours was the first AB picture I have found with the blackout grille. Anyways, I'd love to see more pix of the interior while I'm waiting on mine to arrive.

Good, just for the record, for anyone who has that same problem and the Sap dries, my husband took Nugget 2 days old and got sap on the hood. I searched the internet and the best thing to use is warm bacon grease, well I only had chicken grease put it in the microwave and used a papertowel, driped it on the spots and carefully wiped it clean! very easy!!!

I got the "MINI" brand stickers to cover them up from Aesthetic Creations. I'm extremely pleased with them and have recieved numerous compliments from people who didnt even know they were covering up hideous stickers.

For what its worth, I got a 4" stubby antenna from Alta and was extremely pleased with their service and product!

I've also done a blue LED light swap for all my interior lights, it is the favorite part of my car for all the non-MINI indoctrinated riders.

OK, time for an update. I've been busy motoring lately. I finished the break in period this morning, and I think I finally see a personality emerging. When I got in to motor home this afternoon, the Mini seemed to say "This is the speed where I'm most comfortable. My RPMs should be here to make us both happy". Then it took over for a bit. I haven't determine gender yet, but it did make think of Oliver Twist when I parked it tonight. It said "Please, sir, may we drive some more?"
