Ummm on a kind of disturbing note, anyone notice any little bubbles in the paint? They weren't there before but when I got home yesterday I saw a bunch on my hood... not sure if it is from the heat of the engine?? I am waiting a couple days to see if they by chance go down and going to have the boyfriend take a look.

  • DC1- JCW at Port

  • lohrm1 - PM'd

mnimule was too busy driving to post but took delivery on the 7th, and Mirrim delivered yesterday. I suspect that the JCW's are going to deliver in a torrent. I have PM'd the remaining three and am awaiting thier response.

How long for your dealer to ready it for delivery? Mine took their own sweet time.

Here is Mirrim's photo- I learned how to post pictures, so I took the liberty of publishing hers here. To see it originally check her gallery. Looks AWESOME Mirrim. I think that color is so wonderful. Retro chic. I would install custom pink lining on the inside seats if I had another $20k to spend on another Mini.

+1 If it was offered in a Clubman, we would own one now.

Edit: I don't think that we would have done the pink thing. No offense intended Starry.

Okay guys- good news, the "bubbles" are actually tiny little sap drippings that should come off. On the paint they look like little raised bubbles of paint but after my initial dismay of one of the guys I work with rubbing one with his finger, we realized it's sap. No more parking by trees for me!!! Planning on a good washing and cleaning this weekend after all of the sand from the vacation last week and hauling stuff around moving this week. Whew.

Heheh, Vince told us with all the MINIs spoken for, they have to watch for people wanting to crawl into them and put their grubby fingerprints all over. So the cover is a nice presentation and it keeps people out of it until you get their and put your own grubby fingerprints on it! Sorry you didn't get the package unveiling presentation. :(

We lucked out timing-wise too. Although It would have been great to get it earlier in the month, this week is Schomp's annual Children's Hospital drive. We got $250 off that we hadn't expected, plus the dealership contributes $50 to the hospital's burn unit. A rather nice surprise.

As far as the pink, not exactly my thing either. Heheh, talk about retro, it would remind me of a 1950s bathroom decor with the Oxy Blue.

When we were leaving the restaurant after dinner last night, a man came up and was asking about the MINI, our first lookie-loo! So we had to fill him in on the particulars, which of course was a pleasure to do.

Next up will be a detail and drive to see the family in town. And of course, more pictures. The question is whether or not I'm willing to let my brother drive to try it out... hmmm.

Motor on, everyone!

So, anyone gone shopping online for extras yet?

1) Mud flaps
2) Rubber floor matts (with the B.S. we dealt with over the ipod cord, there was no way we were getting those tossed in)
3) Stubby antenae
4) Badge holder for the week 23 badge whenever its ready
5) DOG protection/cargo protection.

All told, dropped another $300 on Mystique today. Sheesh! But, she's almost done.

Matt wants to turn the inside dial lights blue instead of the standard orange color. Guess we'll have to branch out to different lists on NAM to become an OWNER, as opposed to a "waiting" for...

We ordered WeatherTech front mats, but calling them liners is more appropriate. Dog stuff, that is what the way-back in the Clubbie is for.

Sounds like the hazards of being married to an ET. (But I agree with him, the orange will take some getting used to) Please have him document his mod and post it.

I ordered a Dog protector from "pooch Styles" found on NAM - waiting for it to arrive.
Where do you order a badge holder? I will need one... but can't seem to find them?!

Yeah, SPF Zero, Vince did say that. Apparently this once per year charity drive thing is the exception. As I said, we were surprised.

gemgirlpa - Isn't it gorgeous in person? Photos just don't seem to do the Oxygen Blue paint justice. So glad we got that color.

As far as shopping for goodies for Mae, we had seatback storage things in hand already and a little organizer for cell phone, pens, etc. to put in one of the cup holders. Also got some of the black caps for the strut tower openings under the hood to keep out dirt and debris. Those were popped on right away.

I have my eye on the JCW honeycomb grill and am pretty sure we'll be ordering that soonish. Possibly a rear sway bar to be installed at Minis in the Mountains next month too. I've also been searching tons of graphics providers such as Aesthetic Creations and Cooper Flags for exterior ideas. I'm not partial to the standard stripes on the bonnet, although they do look nice. I'd like something on the sides that would go well with the Oxy Blue and black roof/mirrors. It has kind of stumped me so far for a different sort of idea or color. Any ideas there?

Planned on getting all those except for # 1. I think it gives the MINI a different look.. I dunno..

I got the carpeted floor mats thrown in and I didn't even think that some dealers sell the iPod cord! My MA just went over everything to me from the manuals, to the keys, and then said "now I just need your iPod", so I handed mine over and he just connected it and showed me how it works, just like that! Sorry some of you had to buy it. :(

Stubby antennae and badge holder are next on the list.. I think I'll try outmotoring.com or minspeed.net. Any suggestions?

Doggie mats are last, I'll check the local swapmeet if they have it, if not I'll go online.

I go with purple, my friends know that's my fave color. And sometimes blue.

Someone down the street got a OxyBlue Coop too, fresh off the truck on friday I think (the tires still had the stripes, and the rims were already black )
It's a great color. That makes 6 MINIs on my block, and the one to the north.

As for mods... well, i'm waiting for numerous packages to arrive sometime soon. Trying to get my clear bra and tint sometime this week or early next. Cause i'll have lots of driving to do in Aug.
