My Sport Button was on before I left the lot on Day 1 and my MINI is still alive and kicking and got a clean bill of health from the dealer at 1531 miles when I had them change my oil. The drive is completely and wonderfully better!

Starry, can't wait to seek her with her graphics, but she is lovely. Hope you are enjoying the experience. Was your delivery okay? I am so pleased with my MA. Had a couple of issues after we picked Maggy up and he was on top of both of them. Haven't gotten a survey yet, but I will give them good marks overall.

Yes, we have put some miles on Maggy already. Big trip around the Thumb area of Michigan the first weekend and then the 4 day trip to New York. Really added up, but now have to squeeze out time to get her in and get that first post break in oil change.

Has anyone tried the Banana Gloss yet on their MINI? I am going to use it this weekend. Do you still use the wax (EPIC) or is that overkill?

Starry Eyed, congrats. Will want to see her with the pink stars...

BTW, for those of you tracking mileage.

After three tankfuls, I'm getting 31-33 on my MCS. Conservative driving,
but I'm sure after breakin ends in 100 miles....a real change (downward).

The outliers: and then there were nine

The final nine seem to fall into three classes:

Those making today their very own:
  • Mirrim - Delivery sometime today
JCW's that just like to hangout at the harbor:
  • ThommyG - JCW at Port
  • mrmrsjackson- JCW at Port
  • DC1- JCW at Port
  • AlexM- JCW at Port
And those who seem to have fallen off the face of the earth:
  • lohrm1 - PM'd
  • houtexcc - PM'd
  • mnimule - PM'd
  • ahpook - PM'd

Haha! I'm guilty!! Went to Huntington Beach last Sunday, and after some ceaseless prodding by my brother, I stopped on a red light on PCH 1 and pushed "le bouton". [Mind you, PeeWee just had over 300 miles] Soon as the light turned green I reached way past 5 rpm in less than 6 seconds!!

Had to stop again on the next stop light and turned it off.. gave me some good adrenaline rush!

So go ahead Dance~! It won't hurt to push it just once..

Starry- I know the checkered dash wasn't your choice but I think it looks really nice with the black on black. We're all anxious to see your graphics!

Starry- how is the whole illuminated sills thing that you ordered? Worth it? Now I'm curious as to how it looks!

I wonder how many MINIs came out of Oxford in week 23...how many did they make, and what percentage of those are here on NAM?

Hmm? Just curious.
PS nothing from aestheic creations yet, but he did say he'd make it when he caught up on some serious backorders...so, I guess we'll be patient.

From the BBC
:
About 700 Minis are produced every day at Cowley, where 4,700 people work three shifts, seven days per week.
700 x 7 = 4,900 per week

58 tracked in this thread or 1.2%

The few, the proud, the obssessed

Go ahead a push it, i've had it on probably 1/3rd of my 400 miles. Which may explain why mpg is so low.

I am trying to see how many miles per gallon I can get out of the car this tank of gas, and that should also push me over 1000 miles. At that point, my right foot is going to gain a couple of tons, and the sport button is going to get pushed haha.

Starry, loooks great. Thanks for the photos.

i had the tach display the current mpg on the entire commute to work today. I couldn't keep it above 32mpg.
i'd let off the gas and it'd shoot up to 49-58mpg, but dropped pretty quickly back down to the high 30s.

You have got to push the button! Keep an eye on your RPMs though they go up QUICK. Best part about it is how the steering feels. Just wonderfully snug.

do it. do it.

She's here! We picked up Mae (after my dear, departed grandmother Minnie Mae) this afternoon. Just a couple of teaser photos until I can take some more in the daylight, etc.
