Bigelow "Burble Butt"
He drove us home this afternoon and now he's bugging us for his wings!
What an incredible ride ... He wants to GO GO GO ... Oh, and the sound that comes out of his rear end (sorry, that sounds gross) is a hoot! BURBLE BURBLE ... he's too much! Glad to finally be motoring!

Delivery #44
Sparky=clean
Guess I'll have to finally read the manual, find the jack points, and take off and clean the inside wheel. My hands have both changed colour. Some of you know that colour......
Hey, those new rides (Altoid, Noodle, Burble, dwf137) look just like Sparky ! Except the paint color, stripes, wheels, interior, switches....
WHERE are you Starryeyed ? Do we all have to motor to Michigan ?
(Hey, there's an excuse)

Yep - spent part of yesterday introducing the five year old to the manly art of car washing. He has mastered use of the hose, but need's practice on getting the "yuckie-black-stuff" off the rims.
I had a BLAST on 20 off of 13 (or was it 113?) down to Ocean City. Some nice curves followed by straight aways and more curves. Just watch out for them tourists.
T-Minus 11 hours and counting!
Or, would that be M-Minus 11 hours?
My "dealer" from Pentagon was a no-show last Saturday when Matt went to peek at the car, so he's in for an earful if he's late tomorrow morning!!
This whole thing was his idea--he first suggested a Mini cooper, he dragged me to the local dealer, it was only looking at the Cooper S and brochures and of course, N.A.M. that it became more "my" project than his. Lucky for me, I can drive a six speed manual !!!

Any idea how many of the outstanding Week 23 group are waiting for 2009 Factory JCWs? As of Saturday my MA says mine's at the Charleston VPC... and according to the somebody up the food chaid at BMW the JCWs are waiting for the "portfolio" (I think that's the owners manual etc. book that comes with each car). I suspect I may be sitting simply because MotorwerksMINI is too small to ship immediately. Any thougths?

I am right there with you man. Been sitting at the VDC since 6/26. I was also told by my sales manager that I am waiting for a portfolia. She told me that the portfolios were Fedex to the VDC earlier in the week. Guessing that they got there by the end of the week. I was told that I would be released to a carrier either yestarday or Monday. And the fact they they let me drive the launch car makes the wait even worse. Time for us to be strong!

Hi guys! How's everybody? Congrats on all who took deliveries! 12 more to go? I've been MIA for a while, and sadly, not because I've been Motoring. [300miles on PeeWEe -I know I suck!!
] I've just been busy with prior engagements and work that I couldn't even drive him around that much!
I hope all that's going to change, I went Motoring with 2 other NAM members yesterday, AudioNtoxication and Scoopmama. Even if it was only a 41min drive, it was awesome! And it's even cooler because we were all Pepper Whites! I even got a cool Pepper White magnetic badge Scoopmama made herself as a gift for Pee Wee, she's soo sweet!

...to the EUSEYS, 1 more day to go! I hear the stork getting closer and closer with your new baby! Congratulations in advance!
Anyway, I missed you Week 23ers. Anyone heard from Starry yet?

Hopefully we'll be motoring by week's end.
^
We're holding our breaths too! It wont be long now.
if 300 miles means you suck, i must be a terrible parent. I've not broken 200 yet (still on my first tank). I just haven't had time to do any real driving yet.
I think i'll take a detour after work sometime this week and drive up into the mountains.

Altoid broke the 550 mile mark the other day. I have been behaving myself for the most part trying to break the engine in gently. I lost control of myself once though and had some fun around a local backroad, but i had the sport button off so I wasn't going tooo nuts.
If either of you get any more information, please pass it on. Going on 4 weeks at the VDC. I Hope that I will get the word tomorrow that my car is on the way to the dealer. We shall see.
ThommyG & mrmrsjackson: This is the first I've heard of a "portfolio" for the JCW. I got a "Mini/Clubman" Owner's Manual, but not a JCW specific one. Thanks for mentioning it ... I'll contact my MA to see what it is. Hope those waiting for their JCW's find out some info tomorrow!
So, the last week has been a NIGHTMARE. My wife and I have been trying to seel the Tahoe but with no luck. When we ordered the car the dealership appraised the Tahoe and gave us a value for the trade. Both my wife and I asked the sales manager what we needed to do to ensure that we got what they told us we would get. She told us and off we went.
A few potential buyers later and nothing panned out. Fast forward to Mid June (one month before I thought that I would be taking delivery).
I started speaking with my MA more frequently and EVERY TIME that we spoke I let him know that status of the Tahoe. When we talked about financing option, I brought up what WE had agreed on for the trade. I gave him every opportunity to let me know that things could change. I did this because I knew whwere the SUV market was going. He never gave me ANY indication that the agreement had changed. (BTW, I have spoke with him AT LEAST once a day from Mid June until now)
We were supposed to get the car on Tuesday 7/15. On that day, I spoke with the Sales Manager and let her know that we had not sold the Tahoe and we would unfortunately be bringing it in to trade. One of the conditions that she had stipulated in April for the trade was to keep the truck below 50,000 miles. I also told her that we needed to knwo when we would be motoring because my wife and I have been essentially a one car family for the last month because the Tahoe had been in the garage the entire time so that we held up our end of the deal.
At this point she told me to bring the truck to them and they would put us in a loaner so that my wife and I were not handicapped by only one car. On Wednesday 7/16 my MA told me to bring the car out and we would indeed get a loaner. He told me that the truck needed to be re-appraised! WHAT!!!!
Anyway, what had happened was that the sales manager had forgotten not only about our conversation but our trade as well. For the next 4 days, she had told us that they would do what they could on the trade (The value of the trade had dropped by $6,000 per KBB). All of our budget was based on the price of the trade!
Anyway, the Sales Manager called us and had us come in yestarday to "talk about the numbers". She told us that she had remembered our conversation after the light switch had been flicked by me mwntioning the trade and that she was a woman of her word.
Long story short, she is honorong our agreement. The end result was PERFECT but the last few days have been TERRIBLE.
The reason that I am telling you all this is because I know there have been a few bad experiences stated in this forum and I wanted you guys to know that there are still some people out there who have buisness ethics. We had nothing written down and the sales manager could have done nothing to help us, but she did. (Back room car dealership magic I guess).
The other reason that I am telling the world this is because our baby, how should be with us later this week, has a new name....
Because the last week has been such a HASSLE, my wife and I have decided to name our 09 JCW "The Hoff". Well, we are toying with that name anyway. Let me know what you guys think of that for a name!
Sorry to bore you and thank you for listening.

wow, I know I drive a long way to work and weekend's we take my car out most of the time, but I have 1010 miles on my car already! Dam, and I thought I was parked too much!
But it sure is fun!
But it sure is fun!
I'm not officially a week 23er because of when my build started, but I came across on the Asian Chorus with many of you. I have had my S Clubman for 10 days now and have put about 900 miles on it. I haven't been tracking mileage closely (i.e haven't been writing down my findings), but at my last fill-up today I had 33.3 mpg calculted by hand.
I must say that it has been very difficult to follow the break-in protocol. I have kept it under 4500 RPM, but inched up a bit over 100 mph at one point and have a hard time not pushing down on the right-most pedal to the point the turbo kicks in. The operant word here is "kick." For the most part I have been varying my speed and trying to keep under control, but 12K are a lot of miles to wait to feel the what the car can do.
