Yeah the US gets nothing in that spot. Does anyone know about the blank button next to the gear stick between the DSC and Sport buttons?

I can't wait for my Mini adventures kit so I have some stickers to cover up those blanks.

I think that it is the "start-stop" auto-shutdown switch that is on the euro cars.

So I went to test drive today and my MA let me go look at my baby! She was getting accessories put on in the detail area. So I walk over to check her out really quick, and I noticed something.... I ordered the Piano black interior and they installed the checker one. WRONG!!!!! and the sticker price seemed low so now I'm paranoid that there are other things wrong.

Uh-oh.. how long will it take them to swap it out? Hopefully it won't take too long... Maybe if the sticker price is actually low, it may have only included the factory installed items to create the price, but any dealer/VDC items that were installed were not included? maybe?

I just got an interesting call from "MINI USA"! Phone rang with a 541 area code (Oregon) which was unsual for me so I picked it up, "hello this is Mini Experience calling..."

Turns out they had my email wrong in, zoneguy instead of zonedguy, so they could not get a hold of me for the survey email. They then went through the survey verbally with me which I was more than happy to do for them. Kind of a pushy guy, when he asked if I had anything about my experience I wanted to share, I said "oooh...well let me think..." (as I wanted to consider whether or not some of the annoyances were worth bringing up at risk of poor marks for my MA) and he gave me about 2 seconds before asking again as though I was deaf. At the end he gave the the chance to offer any other comments and I said, "I was thrilled with MINI USA and their 1-800 service", (I meant ASK MINI but sometimes you just say other things) and he was speechless. He had no idea why I would be impressed, turns out he didn't know what ASK MINI was or why it might be so helpful. I educated him. I suspect he wasn't really a MINI USA employee, just a polling firm contracted by BMW.

Anyhow, they must really want that survey information!

I got my survey call the day before yesterday. They also had messed up my email address so they called. I thought it was strange that they had the email address wrong since I have been receiving emails from MINI since I ordered. I was very happy with my dealer and the purchase experience so the survey was pretty easy.

We're finally home!!! Picked her up tonight, and had a 100 mile cruise to get home. I really tried to be good, but somehow I crept up to 90 mph without realizing it. I'm still figuring out the audio system, but at least got the lights to work. And the union jack side scuttle turned out to be a perfect subtle addition. Now I can post the official pic in the driveway at home, with Sadie the Wonder Dog admiring her fender reflection-- and now I'm qualified for wings!

Has anyone else had this experience before? The MINI USA Owner's Lounge said the estimated date of delivery to the dealer as 07/15/08. As of today, the status has actually changed to at the dealer. I left a message for my MA today and he called back after a couple hours. He told me that no, my MINI wasn't in yet and they didn't expect it until likely the 20th. Then of course there would be prep work, etc.

<sigh> I am anxious, as everyone is, to get on with motoring. I'm not entirely certain what to do at this point, but there seems to be conflicting information available. Anyone have suggestions?
