If you have decided that you want the clearbra, my advice is to get it done ASAP. It took me a week to get it done, and sure enough, when he was cleaning the front of the car, he found a tiny little rock chip. Not really noticible, but because I know its there, I see it.

I just waxed my Clubman for the first time this morning, and I found another tiny rock chip above the windshield. GRRRRR! They really happen when your not looking!

BTW, I used Matt at Frontguard in Annapolis, MD. He uses only 3M film. Very good install. I highly recommend Matt to anyone in my area!

Also, talk to the installer about where to install the bra. For our convertible, we went with 18" up the bonnet and 12" to cover the bumper. He did a great job around the air intake, and even installed little "cups" in the door handles to guard against nicks. Definite pride in workmanship, and the total cost for the bra was $399 (vs the dealer cost of $699 for the same coverage). He's even an installer who works for the dealer's BMW business! John's Sunroofs, Littleton, CO.

Thanks for advice... I am minimizing driving the MINI till I get the bra.. only issue is, I've been calling many places, and I am getting crazy prices around Northeast, over $800 for full bonnet, bumper and headlights coverage.

I have mine scheduled to be put on right after I take delivery. I think your price might be higher because you are doing the full bonnet. My installer said that the full bonnet is alot of labor. It takes 2 guys and alot of time. I am doing about 18" up the bonnet, front bumper, fog lights, rear bumper luggage area, and mirrors for 525 installed.

I had it in the on monday to have the roadblock installed.... the service left a bad taste in my mouth, which is getting taken care of, so no sweat.

As for the second service, when I picked up the car on delivery day, my dad noticed a tiny, but deep scratch in the drivers door. It's barely noticeable, but obviously I would like it taken care of. It was supposed to be fixed the day I had the roadblock installed, but they forgot to do it. So once again it will be going back up.

I will have a MINI loaner this car, and I am expecting that some rubber floor mats will magically appear in my car while it is up there.

I'll let you all know.

Oh i know, and there is a few great websites that teach you with photos and step by step instruction on how to fix it. I have decided just to let it be for the time being. If I get more rash then I will fix it, or if my younger bro and I fix his wheels then I may try it out on Al if it works out well.

I just got home from church and I let the car spread it's wings a little on a few corners. It holds its own quite well, I am very impressed.

I love the rear fog lights. They work sooooo well to get tailgaters off of your behind haha.

I am also estimating high 30s MPG to low 40s. I'll let you know when I fill up.

Congratulations to all the new happy parents, those photos are really making me wish time flew faster!

I haven't figured out where SNA is, but if you're close enough, I can take you for a ride, and you'll experience the bumpiness first hand.

Hope everyone returned home safe from the weekend! I also hope that none of you had any fireworks go off in the kitchen...yes, alcohol and a bunch of Navy boys were involved. 1 week from Monday and I will be motoring. Gave up on selling the Tahoe, going to have to trade it!

Enjoy the week!

Well about 6 pages to catch up on since my hiatus starting Wed. from NAM. I expected more but I guess everyone (most) were taking a break like me. Happy (post) 4th of July to everyone.

Congratulations to those who took delivery and are now motoring!

Altoid- sorry to hear about the damage :(

toolazy- stinks about the check, hope it gets straightened out soon but at least you noticed it right away and are already on top of things, hope you get some answers soon :(

Update on my MISSING MINI.... so Jared my MA is terrible about returning my calls or calling to give updates... aparently someone at ASK MINI is working on it for me as is the dealer although Jared, MA and sales manager, told me if any compensation is to come of this, they "can't" do anything and it would need to come from Mini.

The car- my car, which already has insurance on it, has been sitting at the wrong VDC now for 17 days.... unacceptable. It's been hard getting ahold of anyone due to the holiday and weekend but I did talk to my MA once, he said it looks like it should be put on a truck either Mon. or Tues. but couldn't make any estimate of when it will get to Ohio or if it is a direct truck route etc... I explained once again that I am leaving for a ROAD TRIP Saturday and had planned, almost 8 weeks ago now, on taking the MINI and that I NEED it.... he couldn't give me an answer on if I will have it in time.

I want the Mini really bad, it's been over 7 weeks now, the last 3 have been the worst. I am honestly tempted to cancel the order and just really hope I have it by Saturday or else I really may. I don't want to deal with this if this is how the service experience is going to be. Hopefully I can get a real answer tomorrow from my MA or ASK MINI. That's it for now.

Oh that's really nice of you krim, but I'm here in OC. Maybe when we both get our babies we could meet halfway and then drive around and then, you could show me. My brother suggested I enjoy the stock wheels 'til it needs to be replaced, for now..

I need to find places to drive around!

Trying not to think of the EDD..

But it's their fault! Obviously they have not been very attentive. The nerve!!

This is obviously the worst part..

I'm sorry you have to go through this mess with your first MINI, Dance~. I hope you do get a solid answer by today. You would think that with the ASK-MINI people involved, your MA and dealership would really try their best and compensate you with something and atleast give you real details about when you'll finally get your MINI.

Yours and toolazy~'s dealerships are giving you both a heck of a bad experience! I really can't imagine the frustrations you guys must have right now.

He's got over 200 miles on him already. Had 8 at delivery but I live a fair bit away from the dealership. Unfortunately he got rained on but it gave me an opportunity to try out the rain sensing wipers....LOVE'EM!!

Gotta run back outside and sit in the car and fiddle with all the settings....it's gonna be a LATE night!

The "hill holder clutch" is a nice feature. It's almost too easy.

I am looking forward to getting this car on the track after the break-in period.

Welcome back everyone! I tell ya, once you get one of these, you don't want to drive anything else, do ya?

What's funny is to see people's faces as I step out (I'm 6'4"), then my wife gets out, opens the rear door, and my two girls get out. They think they're watching a circus act.

I'm constantly getting asked questions, and by a lot of MINI owners as well because they're curious about the Clubman's space.

I can't get enough of this car!!!
