"Tracking program is down right now..."
Just got off the phone with ASK-MINI. Here's what the rep told me:
"The program we use to track vehicle status is down right now. We had some software updates over the weekend, and they're still working on it. The last info we have is a couple of days old. We're asking people to call back this afternoon for updates."

I just called them, their system is back up, but they don't have any info updates since friday for me.... so all i know is that it is being built, started friday. I want to know where in the production line it is sort of thing.
When in the afternoon should I call back.

well he mentioned that their system was down then he said let me see if i can get into it now....
then he said, alright, looks like it went into production on friday (30th) .... so i assume it is partially back up

i've finally got a vin!
I wanted more info then just hearing my car started production on the 30th... I thought I was going to be able to find out where in production the car actually is....

edit: does the vin look weird to anyone else? I'm used to seeing mostly numbers, but there are a lot of letters.

thanks owg, that's a pretty sweet decoder...
curious as to why it doesn't say what transmission is in the car, but I'm not too worried about it..
Also curious as to why I have: Catalog model ECE

sorry to hear that Starry, you will get it soon though.
Thanks owg for the info.
Where do you get the vin? Owners lounge or askmini? I just called again and all he had for me was the same info. How do I track it through production?

I havent quite figured out the significance of the Catalog model myself.
So sorry to hear that, but your in good company with OWG!
from searching at mini2.com, everyone who has a catalog model ECE is located in europe.
I'm a little concerned... It does say it's LHD though, so at least I won't be getting a RHD car...
