After some more badgering I got my MA to tell me when (roughly) Penfold would finally arrive. I have a tenative date of July 23 at 3:30 Are people from Seattle going to get their cars before I do? Man...what did Rasmussen MINI do to tick the trucking company off. Better yet my MA is going on vacation on Wednesday. I guess I will just have to harass his sales manager. Only one other thing to do...

That's cool! Is it an aftermarket cloaking device that you can turn on and off, or did that come standard?

MiniZonker,

Are you with us? If so I have failed to pick you up previously...so when did you take delivery?

Good morning all.
I spoke with my MA's manager yesterday, ASK MINI and made numerous (failed) attempts to reach my MA- he still hasn't called me back from last week either... anyway the general manager finally called me at 7:30 last night and said everyone is working on it and baffled as to my situation and still not sure when I can expect my car BUT he said that he will get me in a MINI today, and said he would have a car port bring one to me (3 hours) TODAY so.... holding him to that. He also said a rep. from MINI will be calling me at "9 AM" so anxiously awaiting that too. I will keep you all posted, keep telling them that I have dozens of friends, family, coworkers and current Mini owners all waiting to see how this is solved.... today is day 19 at the wrong port. Sigh. I leave for my once a year vacation/road trip Saturday and will be bummed if I don't have MY MINI by then but aparently I will be in A MINI.... enough to pacify me for now.

Just keep repeating "free 100k maintanance plan" to them for all your troubles and delays, and don't take no for an answer!

blackjack- I know, I am going to say/demand either that (again thank you for the suggestion) or a discount. Wouldn't a free MINI be nice?
I haven't bother checking Owners Lounge since it was "En Route" for about three weeks and I stopped paying attention. Just checked it and it says "At Distribution Center"... AND my "Review Order Detail" says expected delivery "7/6/2008" at first I was really excited, then realized that day already passed anyway Either way, supposed to get my MINI Rep call today- let's hope they stick to it!!!!

Wow... i hope the 9AM call reports good news. Seriously, if you dont get something crazy good out of all this for the trouble i'd be shocked. Your MA should probably be flogged a little too.

Anyone know how much the 100k MNT plan even is?
No call yet but it's only 9:15. If I don't hear from someone by lunch I WILL be a bit irrate.

Just found some prices for the 100k/6 year plan and it sounds like it is around $1000-$2000 depending on dealership.

9:30, no call.

I would normally say that patience is a virtue, but I'm pretty sure you've been patient enough. We had some major problems with our dealership and all they offered us was $100 at the gift boutique. We were kind of like "Thanks a heap ... that'll buy 2 keychains and a t-shirt."

I'm thinking that we need to start a "MINI dealerships in need training in customer satisfaction" thread.

Of course it's hard to get folks on their best game when they know that they have sold out their entire production allocation for the next two or three months.

But it would be nice for them to at least make an effort....

A little far for me to travel even on a four day weekend. We went to the mountains of south-western Virgina. Very, very few MINI's out there. Although, I do think that we might have been camped next to Larry-the-cable-guy's cousin....

And a lack of competing dealers in many areas of the country make it even less "necessary" for some dealers to show that they value their buyers.

Thanks Gem. I will let everyone know.
10:30 and no call.
As it is I am not a very patient person so the first 6 weeks was rough enough, now I feel like I either want to bounce off the walls or scream. As it is I force myself to paitiently sit at my desk and will go to lunch in about half an hour THEN if I don't hear from anyone by the time I get back will be making a few phone calls again. Hopefully it doesn't come to that but I still don't feel like this is any sort of priority and it should be.

Anyway thanks to all of you for the support! Really it is great to know such nice people are out there backing me up in the MINI community and I don't even have mine yet- yay for NAM members and special props to the extra cool week 23'ers!

Dances this really sucks big time. Especially when they say they will call and talk to you and nothing. I think that the extra maintenance plan is basically a start on compensating you for this mistake. Maybe they don't realize how many of us are watching this unfold and will base perceptions on how you are treated not only by the dealer, but by corporate. You might point them to this thread for verification! I can't imagine how you feel at this point. I know that my co-workers and family were contemplating their treatment options as I was waiting for delivery from the VDC to the dealer. To repeat myself, this truly sucks!
