Just talked to my dealer again about the changed financing rates. He came down quite a bit and came within about $300 of the original price, which is about $600 less than the price based on the new rates.

I understand it may not be the dealer's fault, but it's certainly their fault for giving me a written quote and not stating anywhere that anything may be subject to change.

In either case, I'm very happy with the way they handled it. Picking up my car on Saturday!

 

My car was one of the last to be loaded on the Asian Chorus. So I wonder if "last on, first off" got me throught the VDC earlier than some folks. I meet my baby tomorrow.

Hi Everyone!

We are so psyched that so many of us week 23ers are now Motoring along! Congrats to all the Mini mommies and mini daddies.

We've got 100% confirmation, we meet with the Italian Mini dealer and get the US customs clearance and final delivery all on the same day:

MONDAY JULY 21ST.

So, think of us on the 21st, Will definitely post pictures-will have to somehow get Mount Vesuivus in the background. That ole girl is not allowed to explode until after April 2009- when we're scheduled to come back to the USA.

So, when the 21st comes we'll ask politely for our wings. Until then, each day we gather around the monitor and live vicariously through all of you. CONGRATS again, and, if we do decide on a set badge for WEEK 23 2008, We would LOVE one. We can receive mail thru the US post office.

I got a call from the financing manager at my dealership. They are offering a better rate than what my credit union quoted. So they will have the paperwork ready on Saturday morning. I really hate this waiting. Does anyone think it would be out of line to ask my MA to email me a picture of my baby?

My Ma took a photo through her cell phone and sent it to me within 20 minutes of Nugget getting onto the lot!!! ask!

Update- I called my MA today and he said it looks like the car made it on a truck yesterday but still no word on how long it will take since they don't get deliveries from NJ. I leave for my vacay Saturday and he said (looks like I won't have MY MINI by then, although that would be a wonderfully terrific thing if I do!) that they are going to bring me a red loaner Mini and take Buttercup back tomorrow Kind of getting attached to her!

Okay so I called my MA just now, for the first time since I ordered [since we're mostly e-mails] and he told me the latest EDD for me getting PeeWee would be the 11th since he said "the sport stripes are being installed there.." [which we all know already].

Hmmm... ok then.. I'm expecting some good news in the next couple of days. If I get the call on Friday.. uhmm.. I think I feel an illness coming..

Apparently as of this afternoon work has decided to start blocking certain sites, and this is one of them..... I am crushed... It's devastating.... What am I going to do?? I can't possibly go all day at work without NAM.......maybe it is a fluke and it will all be better tomorrow?? I can only wish.....

 

no NAM was down for about 3 hours this afternoon, I had the same problem here at my house.

 

maybe I could be so lucky and still have NAM access??!! that would rock... I have my fingers crossed...
--but work is starting to block sites..... and I did get an evil message from them... but maybe just maybe without the proxy on, I could still get through...

 

Finally got an update on status of my Clubman, and it's not good news. It's apparently been stuck in the NJ VDC since June 20th without any word about status. After prodding from me, the dealer's GM finally emailed the VDC yesterday (apparently phones don't work at the VDC) and got a one-line email response today saying my car's hood was damaged and repairs wouldn't be finished until the end of this week. I can only hope the VDC's repair shop can replicate the factory quality for paint, fit, and finish. Does anyone have info on how accurately the VDC repair shops can match factory production? This is a major bummer, since my excitement about this car is rapidly fading to disappointment. I hope that will change when I actually see it.
