1) My dealership is out of MINI's (OK maybe one MCS, says the sales mgr)
2) Put a lambswool seat cover on this morning. IZ COZY
3) Wow, what power. You can have the steering wheel jerked out of your hand....careful....to....observe...break-in
4) My niece says I picked an 'old man color'. OK so I -am- 4 times her age and she never saw my optic yellow Karman Ghia convertible sold 2 decades ago...
5) armrest had a nick in it on delivery, so my MA hurried to get a new one ordered.
6) Love that trumpet exhaust note !
7) will take me 'days' to figure out how to work all the controls

Miles well traveled!

 

Just wanted to add that I picked up my OB last Friday. I immediately loaded it with luggage Saturday morning and have been motoring my way from Baltimore to Newport RI for the last few days. We're off to western MA, then to the Fingerlakes region of central NY.

Its a blast to drive,and love, love the OB color.

So my MA told me yesterday that he can't tell me what ship it's on or what day it should come into port. I told him that it had to be on a k-line ship and could be on one o 2 and he said that i have 100% more info than he has. GREAT.... big help buddy....

 

The OL says estimated delivery date is 7/1. I assume that this is when it leaves the VDC, am I right? Just a heads up, I am leaving on vacation for a week with no internet access. I fully expect us to pass the 3,000 post mark by the time I get back.

 

Thanks all for the wonderful comments! LOVE the car. SOOOOO much Fun. Did we see each other at the dealership MINImalistnam? We may have. My entire family was there. Wife and 3 kids. lol. We are pretty easy to identify.

You are right on the power. Not near the power my GTO had, but when you hit the pedal hard (yes keeping below 4500rpm's) it'll torque steer right out of your hands if your not careful. Most pleased with the gas mileage right now. 32MPG all highway. Fantastic!

The controls and options will keep me busy for a month. I'll be figuring out the bluetooth phone thing soon. Although it seems wayyyy complicated.

YAY i went in yesterday, signed the papers, took care of the financing and saw my baby! She still needs her sports stripes and they only had 1 checkerboard mirror in (so she looked kind of goofy in because the right one was installed and the left one was missing)......but I get to pick her up Thursday! YAYAYAYAY!

So when I go pick her up..other than making sure there are no scratches and asking to get my phone paired,what else should I ask them to make sure of? Thanks, Im a noob at buying a car

 

Called MA, had just walked in the door and said he still needed to check his voicemail to see if the guy (shipping) had called him back and said he would "call me as soon as he hears something." More like, I'll be calling him back on lunch if I don't hear from him by then.
