Latest update is the woman from ASK MINI called me back last night and said she did some research and spoke to my MA and he was "already doing all that he can" and now reginal managers are aware of the situation and everyone is trying to figure out how and when a truck can take it from the NY/NJ port down to Ohio. Is it that hard???? Ugh anymore I feel like when I do finally get word to pick up my MINI, I am just going to be p*ssed off at the whole thing. NOT how I was expecting my first new car/dealership/MINI experience to go.

THEN on my way to work today (in my dad's truck since I now sold my car and have no vehicle) my mind was on other things and when I turned onto the road cops are always on and I am always careful to go the speed limit, one caught me going over and pulled me over and wrote me a ticket for 5 over. Of course it was a woman so I couldn't flirt myself out of that one... so here goes $120.00 of my MINI money. Not a good morning. It's only like 8 AM.

Wow.. Haven't had a chance to check for a week or so and so much to catch up on... Congrats to everyone who picked up their MINI's.. Just got the call last night from my MA to let me know it arrived at the dealer.. Will be picking her up in a couple hours..

Long journey finally coming to an end.... this forum is so informative and helpful, thanks to everyone...

 

Picking up Waldo at 4pm! I'll have a 3+ hour motor home to get to know him a little better! Dealer is picking me up at the rental car drop-off (got a one-way rental for only $69, I thought that was a really good deal!).

Was planning on Waldo's first Epic wax tomorrow, but they're forecasting rain ! Maybe I could wash him at home.

Going with "GERMINI" for the plate. Even if most non-MINI people won't "get it", I do, and I get a kick out of it every time I think of it (I came up with it on my own, and thought it was pretty clever, if I do say so myself!) A nod to the fact that our MINIs have German roots (as do I!)

 

Well, im off for the rest of the week. So, congrats in advance to anyone picking up between now and sunday. I hope to see 10+ pages full of photos w/ happy new parents when I get back.

zonedguy- not sure what a VDC lot looks like but I assume it's insane. Well my MINI is justamini, PW, PW, no stripes, stock interior so nothing would really stick out execpt perhaps maybe a lot of bird crap as a coworker suggested since it has now been sitting the 13 days! Ugh.

 

gotmoxie- I think "XUG XUG" would be fantastic, especially given the name on the Miata. Very clever. The LTR throwback um.... is just kind of.... dorky. No offense but it reminds me of someone on their way to a StarTrek convention- not that there is anything wrong with StarTrek.


blackjackmark- GERMINI is great, wonder if the Secretary of State people are going to scratch their heads over it.
