Well hmm...... I just called my MA again... 10 days at VDC with no word- and no work being done to it. I mentioned I was worried something happened to it on the boat and he said no, if it did, they would see something went wrong. It's just sitting in New Jersey and he said that it "may have been put on the wrong boat because all of our cars (going to Ohio) go to South Carolina".... F*ing fantastic.... so.... no vehicle and looks like I may have to skip the family vacation since I don't have a ride there- OR the 3 hour trip to pick up my car when it DOES come in.... my MA said he is contacting someone directly at the port to find out what is going on. I am frustrated. At this point it's not even fun

He brought me to work today! I took delivery on Saturday afternoon.

I haven't had enough time to motor yet, but we've got a holiday weekend coming up! I'm thinking about joining up with the local MINI club for a parade. Fun, Fun!

The Waiting Room...

Here's something to do while waiting to pick up the new baby... Your car is listed on the dealer site as for sale... probably just on the off chance that you don't show up to pick it up...you can look at the picture (which may be wrong) and the options and change your mind again

Maybe they don't want me to pick mine up today... they didn't even charge my deposit on the credit card back 7 weeks ago!

I feel a sick day coming on! Hopefully I can wait to do any extensive motoring until the weekend.

The sparkling silver looks fantastic in this pic! Enjoy!

MINI has done an excellent job of building the brand by creating an environment where their customers feel so connected to the product that during the production/distribution stage their customers create social networks to monitor their cars production/transport, commiserate like expecting parents, and congratulate one another when the product is delivered. Harley Davidson doesn’t even do that. This is a phenomenon as evidenced by me even writing this drivel.
Agreed!

I hate that it's taking so long, but it will be worth it in the end! Believe me!

OK, I kept this car a secret from my kids, and it was great seeing their reactions to the car. What fun!

Now my 16 year old thinks the car should be hers and is calling him both "smiley" and "the short bus". So, Jack Jack may be no longer, somehow my kids end up renaming our pets, now it's my car.

DChap, I have the hill assist on my Clubman and I kinda like it. I admit that it's a bit odd when you take your foot off the brake and the car does not roll back, but the more I notice it, the more I like it. This may have something to do with the fact that this is the first stick I have owned since my 1977 Triumph TR7.

(I also admit that I have actually stalled out at a light twice in the last week, but don't tell anyone. It is as embarrassing as I remember!)

Cruel father - what other reason to buy a cool little car other than to give it to a newly licensed 16 year old. You need to upgrade the start button to a biometric fingerprint reader!

OK - so now that I'm totally excited, waiting this very slow 6 hours, Holly my MA just called me to get final paperwork finished.... She is absolutely the best MA, always keeping me informed and taking care of the little stupid question I have (and believe me there is alot!) So I guess I'm READY!!! Let's go clock!!

I think i'm going to have to call my MA. He hasn't answered my email from last week. I don't think he'll have much info for me except maybe he can tell me what ship i'm on for sure.

Whew! I finally have caught back up! All the Coopers look great....and congrats to everyone that's taken delivery.

Here's a thought; Any graphic designers here that could do a subtle "Week 23'er" logo for our minis? We would each have to purchase the decals, but that way we could identify each other at events.

Perhaps something small that would go in the lower corner of a rear window, etc?

Whaddya think?

count me in, I nominate DChaps to design it since he is a graphic designer and did the Sigs of his own, Nuggets and Starry.... and they all look fantastic!!

Sorry, I don't do window decals, especially on the rear window. I do think it's a good idea however. Once I see the image I may get the W23 tattoo. (humor)

Sounds great! I too will not be putting stickers on Sneaker but a motoring badge for the grill would be cool. Don't know what that would cost though...
