Congrats to everyone who picked up their MINI's this weekend, I can't keep track of who has and hasn't yet, it seems like at least one week 23'er a day is taking delivery- that means the rest of us still waiting are that much closer!

Yesterday evening it was rather overcast and the color seemed more tan with a greenish hue. I know that sounds yucky but it really wasn't. Most of the 60 mile drive home was in a torrential downpour and the handling was superb even in those conditions. I would have pulled off to the side of the road if I had been in my Jeep! The auto windshield wipers worked great too.

I think I'm gonna have lots of errands to run today!

I'm PROUD to be an '08 W23!

That was a great idea taking a photo of the odometer - I wish I had thought of that; Newton had 2 miles on him when we picked him up! He wasn't in a snazzy car cover, but he was in the showroom and there were multiple shoppers there checking him out and trying to get into him while we were signing the papers!

I thought the photos showing the length of the Clubman next to the Miata (exactly the same) were interesting...

I agree entirely - it is just like the pre-Christmas anticipation of years ago! My car is physically not that far away, but I still have about 2 weeks to go. I figure every moment of anticipation will just make finally getting it that much sweeter!

My MA at Motor City Mini said he was processing paperwork for 20 MINIs yesterday. Unfortunately for me, Maggy wasn't one of the 20. Some of you week 23'ers in Michigan may be on your way Monday to get your MINIs. He said he thought by 7/3 for Maggy.

Living vicariously through all of you guys picking up your MINIs is helping me with my disorder though . Congrats to all you guys who have gottern delivery!

Good idea, we would grill MINI burgers and have tubs of iced down sodas and maybe Wild Blue's for any 23'ers present.

(Just remembered the brand, made by AB as suggested earlier)

CONGRATS TO EVERYONE WHO GOT THEIR MINI'S!!!!!

I was gone all day yesterday and had to read 4 pages to catch up... lol

My MA emailed me on Saturday while I was gone and said:

"The DCS, which is our tracking site shows your MINI is estimated to leave California on the 2nd. If things move on schedule your MINI should arrive around Friday."

So I emailed him back and told him I would LOVE to pick up my car on the 6th... lol Let's see if it all works out in my favor! (Only having sport stipes and window tint installed at the dealer for now - he said its a day job... hopefully he will process my car on Friday, tint and stripes on Saturday and pickup on Sunday!!) I guess even if I have to wait until Monday that would still be 4-5 days earlier than origionally expected!

Is your dealer (or more importantly, the service dept) open on July 4? (I haven't asked mine, as I'm (barring unforseen circumstances) getting Waldo on July 2!)

Also open on Sunday? Interesting! In Illinois and Missouri, car dealers (by law) are closed! It's a GREAT day to go car browsing, as you don't get hounded! Although one day a guy walked up to a fried in a Toyota lot and handed her his business car from a DIFFERENT dealership! He was there stealing customers! She reported him to the dealer she was at, and they weren't at ALL happy...go figure!

I totally FORGOT that Friday was a holiday!!! I called and they said they were closed... That sucks! That means Monday or Tuesday pickup...

Sales are open on Sunday but Service is closed... Gosh it's starting to look a lot like Tuesday at the earliest... Bummer!

Sorry for being the bearer of bad news...but I was HOPEFUL that they were actually going to be open for you! If not I hope it's better knowing NOW than on Friday!

Is the service dept closed on Saturday as well? Most are...bummer!

Waldo arrived at the Charleston VDC on 6/26 and was scheduled to arrive to the dealership in St Louis today 6/29. That's about 860 miles and took 3-4 days including time at the VDC (Waldo had nothing installed there, so he probably flowed right through).

How far is it from your VDC to your dealer? Maybe Dutchess will make it to your dealer on Friday (they were to be unloading Waldo today even though the dealer is closed), and then they could get your stuff installed on Saturday? If not...are you at least close enough to go visit her in the "nursery" before you bring her home? Unfortunately I'm 200 miles away so I can't go see Waldo until the day I'm bringing him home.

I got to see Melvin yesterday, but unfortunately I'm an idiot and didn't take my insurance with me. I also failed the credit check and have to have a co-signer...but hopefully everything will work out tomorrow!!!

i've had a long day away from NAM. All of MINI's look great. SS/B, MY/W, both lovely.

Altoid is great, i'm loving every minute behind the wheel. I am starting to get settled in and becoming familiar with the controls and locations of everything. My Dad is jealous of my iPod/Bluetooth set up. His BMW Z4 has a crappy system haha. My one gripe so far is that I hate the BMW hill assist start and I can't turn it off.

Alright off to bed, night NAM

last to bed first to wake am I? WOW.

G'Morning NAM. Just dropped Altoid off at Ottos to have the clear bra installed. I was expecting to get a MINI loaner car, but noooo I ended up with a Ford Focus. No bueno. Service Dept. was pretty good, in and out within 15 mins.

Although, I was not told that I had to take some paper work in with me, so now I have to drive home to get it before heading back up there. Oh well.

Gemgirl good luck down there tonight, I may see you still, I may not, depends how long it takes me to get home and up to Ottos. I'll keep my eyes peeled for Nugget though and give her a look.

Again Congrats to those of you who picked up this weekend.

We may have picked a name for my little one when he makes it home. The latest nominee (drum roll please) Penfold. From the classic brittish cartoon Danger Mouse.

Only 4 more days until the West Coast VDC, then the long road home.

Good luck! I had a guy that would only call on the weekends so i talked to him for like 3 weeks... weird. BUT... today someone is coming to buy my SUV! yay! for WAAAAAYYYYYYYY less than what i was asking or what its worth, but what are ya gonna do? Only good thing about trading is that you don't pay taxes on the amount from your trade in!

I wish I had come in on the same boat as you! I'd be picking up soon! I can't complain though.... This week wouldn't be good for me anyways!

What an A** haha.. The things those sharks will do to make a sale. They don't even realize that when they hound you, it makes you NOT want to work with them!

It's part of the DSC option ... on manual transmission cars, it keeps the car from "rolling back" when starting from a stop on a hill.

Grrrr.... Ollie is supposed to be ready on the 3rd or the 5th. I'd love to be able to pick him up on the way home from work on Thursday and have him for a 3 day weekend! Nothing like a quick run down to Lockhart, TX for BBQ to hurry up and get past the 1200 mile "break in."

DChap, what is it you don't like about the "hill assist" feature? I haven't used it yet and I'm curious.
