Haven't decided one way or the other that I'm going to fully immerse myself in this madness and obsession we call MINI, so I haven't (yet?) named my car.

However today the only one to strike a chord came to me when I wasn't even thinking about it.....

I wish the Baltimore VDC handled MINI's, but they are BMW only.

 

No word on where Sneaker is. Computer dude says that I am waiting on a vessel. I know that he was completed on 6/10 and there was a boat on 6/13. Oh well, guess I will get him when I get him!

 

i talked to a friend who works at Ottos and he said it usually takes about 3-4 days to get from NY to Ottos, no more than a week is what they say.

I've heard stories of cars arriving at the VDC BEFORE it was even indicated that the car had shipped. Can I possibly be that lucky and that happen to me? I assume those folks were always on a K-Line ship due to the inability to track them like we can a W&W shipment.

I'm still showing as "Awaiting Transport" in the OL. Robo-voice still says I"m "at the port" and "no shipping info available at this time". The VIN still does not show up on W&W website.

To these folks listed above I ask, when/how did you find out you're on this ship? My MA is claiming that she will know nothing until she gets an ETA of my car's arrival into the VDC. She won't know what ship, she won't know when it left.

My car was done on either the 6th or 7th. Your boat left on June 8. I wonder if there's ANY way I snuck on board? (can one of your babies check? )

If I DIDN'T make your ship, then there's the one that left on the 13th. Yet we're two days past that and I'm STILL being told I'm "at the dock". And for that matter no one on this board has been told they're on that ship!?! I know the info is notoriously delayed until getting updated, but HOW delayed?

To the friends that are on the SNH, how much before or after your ship sailed did you know you were on it? Who told you you were on it? Your MA? Robo-voice? A live person at ASK-MINI?

about 4 days delay of information...

I knew i was on the Patriot, but it wasn't until the 4th day of travel that the OL changed to indicate i was en route

that makes me very happy. I told my MA I need to sign papers by the 30th of June! With my calulations that gives them a week plus some for any other install stuff!

 

why do you need to sign the papers by a specific date?

 

oh 2 reasons, 1) i'm a very impatient Italian and 2) the interest rate i'm getting expires on the 30th and I don't want to take the chance... so i told my MA that exact thing.
Not only am I an HR manager, I'm also a finance manager!!

There really isn't any way unless your MA has the name of the ship. I figured it out by process of elimination. I was awaiting the ship and my VIN # did not show up on the WW. The OL said I was en route and the only nonWW ship was the SNH. Maybe your MA can tell you whether you made the ship

 

Seriously dude, you need to talk to your MA's manger and even see about talking to a new one. Your MA is full of ****.

I was just at the dealer yesterday taking a friend to test drive MINI's so she can order one. While she was driving, i was chatting it up with my MA.

He spun his computer screen around for me to see what he has access to.
They can see EVERYTHING as far as status. When he typed my VIN it showed what I already knew. That it was on the ship Patriot, its ETA to the VDC and when it left. My MA said they can see a status at the VDC. Est when it will leave etc..

Seriously that would **** me off for any of you that is not getting info from your MA..

 

I called my MA asking if he knew where Melvin is and he wrote me an email back telling me what ship he is on and when he will be arriving in Charleston.

trip was good, flying sucked though. Don't get me wrong, i love traveling, and flying, but we had a 4.5 hour delay going there, and a 4.5 hour delay coming back. I didn't get home until 4am which sucked big time, but over time rules.

20 hours of overtime pay :-) ... driving lamps may be in order haha
