Don't have the Oxy Blue yet, but the Owner's Lounge now shows an estimated date of delivery as 07/15. Wooohoo! time to definitely get busy on the trade in.

Congrats to all who are out motoring already.

Good, bad, and good news again

1st Good News: PeeWee's finally at my dealer, arrived yesterday morning and I got called for a pick-up at 3pm.

Bad News: He's still at the dealer and I am now in toolazyforalogin's previous situation. They weren't able to accept my pre-approved draft check from PenFed because apparently the draft says something that the PenFed has something written somewhere that they can opt not to pay for the amount in case something comes up, so my dealer's Finance Manager told me they only accept Cashier's Check and Personal Checks.. or.. I have my other option: I can opt for their Financial Services. [I had a feeling that they think if I'm so eager to take PeeWee home, then I would]. They offered me 6.59% but I politely turned the offer down and told them that I already had everything planned and that I'm going with PenFed. I waited 5 weeks, so I figured, what's a few days more, right?

Good News again: I called PenFed up just now and provided them the complete info. [Just got back from LA right after I'd gone to the dealership] Everything's settled and they would Fed-Ex me the Cashier's Check today and I will have it by tomorrow [Saturday]. Then back to the dealership I go to finally, bring my baby home!

Honestly, I kinda had the feeling that this would happen because toolazy and I had the same pre-approved check that's why I wasn't even remotely surprised nor disappointed when I realized I wouldn't be able to take him home. I am happy though because he's already here, a mere 10mins away.

We took lots of pics already but I'm going to wait 'til I finally have him before I post some.

P.S.
He is so handsome!!

Ain't we Week 23ers full of highs and lows!?

So it took 13 days from arrival to port to get to my dealer. Interesting to know!
Not useless!

Banana Gloss??? please fill me in on what you use!

I went to the Non OCD carwash thread in detailing 101. Ordered a bunch of Prima product. Mystique car shampoo, Slick, Hydro and Clarity(glass cleaner). Used the slick to sort of wax, then Hydro all over. Amazing stuff. Went for a ride in the country and got tons of buggies all over the bonnet. A little slick sprayed on and a wash and quick wipe and all the buggies were gone! This stuff is amazing.

Put in an order for more Hydro and then saw the Banana Gloss. It is a new product. A polymer wax that can be applied at any temperature (which is apparently quite amazing-who knew) and lasts 45-60 days of normal driving! Sounded good, so I ordered. Then forgot to order Wheel Shield for the wheels (helps protect from brake dust) so I called Detailer's Paradise and had a great conversation with Heather. Fantastic folks at that place. Can't recommend highly enough. My second order should be in late this week or early next. Will let you know how it turns our.

I think I'm in real trouble though, I was mooning over a wool brush to use to dust Maggy off between washes!! LOL!

welcome to the Hydro family... i've been using it on the parents car for a while now. cuts down on the amount of times the call me over to wash and wax their car They garage, unlike me, so they're currently around 3 months between washes.

I leave tonight after work to head to KC. I pick up my Mini tomorrow morning at 9:30 and then park it in a hotel lot while the family goes to a theme park. It's a 3.5 hour drive home with my baby on Sunday. I can promise a total lack of focus today at work. By the way, is it too early to be wearing my Astro Black Owner's Club t-shirt?

i'm heading in early today, with the check. If they take it, ill leave my acura at the dealership and take yuko home. then i'll have a friend drop me off later on to pick up the acura. I dont want to get dropped off and not have a ride home in case I can't take her home today.

Too bad, they wont put the balance on my credit card, i've got enough of my credit line remaining for it..

I washed the car yesterday and only waxed the bonnet b/c that's where most bugs land. I forgot the mirrors so I'll do that today!

I did the PenFed financing as well. I told my MA about it and he said that it shouldnt be a problem. He did say that I would have to sign a backup contract that would just go away when they got the money from PenFed. Sound fishy to anyone? It sounds reasonable to me.

I had a Certified Check from PenFed with $26,000 on it as well as the dealers name and my own. I put the rest on a credit card and a personal check. The dealer did the paperwork while my MA and I went over the car inspection. I signed a few forms and turned down all the extra packages and was out the door no problems at all.

Call your MA.

I just did and went over what I was bringing in, making it clear that I don't like surprises, and he confirmed that it was acceptable. Of course, I am in DC and Pentagon Federal is a well known "local" lender.

I just did that. He said it was all good. I really can not stand the wait any longer. I might have to go over to the lot today to look at it. Thats sad really.

Yea, we could buy the cotton-picking car with the credit line we carry, but, they don't want to pay the transaction fee.

for the PenFed users... just a helpful hint.. when you call them for the check - when they prequalify you for a certain amount, don't just take a blank check to the dealer, that is the "wait" check.
Know the exact amount of the loan you will be taking from there and tell them to make the check out to that exact amount.
I walked in with a check from Penfed minus a personal check of my own both totalling up to the amount of the car purchase. 15 minutes in and out.
It does require doing some homework about 1 to 1 1/2 weeks before you pick up your car, but your MA should help you with exact numbers.
Hope this helps!

Thanks gemgirlpa, reason being I didn't provide them with the info yet though I already had the amount e-mailed to me by my MA was I wanted to make sure I wasn't being overcharged. Apparently, the amount they told me over the e-mail was $1,000 more because they didn't deduct the downpayment I gave. I know they can always just issue me a check anytime, but I wanted to make sure first. Thought it would work as a a regular check, me being a newbie on this and all.

And yeah.. the confusion more was because I e-mailed my MA prior to the EDD and asked how they handle pre-approved checks and how long is the waiting period if it needs clearance first and his reply was "When your MINI arrives, we have everything right now to be able to contract your MINI. We'll give you a "Bill of Sale" or "Purchase Order" which is what your Credit Union needs. You'll immediately be able to drive off with your MINI, and the Credit Union will cut us a cashier check in 1-3 days."

But all's well. Hopefully tomorrow I can finally bring him home.

Ok so I give up on trying to catch up on previous pages... I'm just starting from scratch.

OL says that my mini is scheduled for delivery in 2 days! If that is true, then I think I should be taking delivery in about a week and a half!!!! I'm sooooo excited!

PS- I have been on hiatus from here because I moved back to MI! Hope everyone's doing well.
