Ok so it is not just the color that is so dam cute???
no seriously, i do know that, but not to the extent that you just explained, so tell me what is the chassie thingy???
The new model convertible comes out in August/Sept. doesn't it?

I think that'd look really good as a grill badge. whereas zonedguys would do better on the window.

I love the R53 convertible it's a fantastic car and you should be chuffed to bits with your purchase. If I'd wanted a convertible instead of a hardtop I wouldn't have hesitated in ordering an R53 and I'd probably have gone for a JCW Sidewalk. I think the new models are available for ordering in the fall with delivery in January. As for the chassis thing I just mean everything is different, dimensions etc. Some prefer the way the R56 handles others prefer the way the R53 handles, what's not up for debate is the R53 has a far superior steering feel and directness however a remedy for that appears to be installing a special set of bushings that ALTA sells. So Ryephile says anyway and he seems to know hos way around a car.

thank you Mozza, for the education on the difference of the cars, appreciate you knowledge where mine lacks on cars, and really do love this 23ers family - and you didn't laugh at the "thingy" statement.
I am very happy with my purchase and would do the same agian, and now I know who to ask all the serious car questions, thanks for volunteering!

Haha, no problem and I'll do my best to answer any question you might have although there are posters on here far more knowledgeable than me about cars in general and MINI's specifically. I love this Week 23 thing too although I'm unfortunately only an honourary member as I was initially scheduled for Week 23 but actually ended up in Week 25. Roll on next week!!

Oh wow, I only just realised you were actually asking what a chassis was! The chassis is the actual frame of your car plus the running gear, stuff like your transmission etc.

Thanks SPF -- that was very educational. And a bit disturbing -- especially to read the rest of that thread about how they don't have to disclose some kinds of damage. Some folks think the VDCs do a good job of repairing though, so I'll just have to wait and see what it looks like and decide whether to accept it or not. But I'm not sure I can stand waiting another 3 months for a reorder -- my dealer says if I reorder next week the car won't arrive until mid-October. I find it hard to believe that it takes 12 weeks to get a car here in New England, when I keep hearing others are getting their cars in 6 weeks. But maybe there's only a delay problem with regular Clubmans since they're in such big demand.

Thanks too, everyone, for the kind thoughts. Maybe it's silly, but I kind of feel like my car has been violated and isn't the same as a "new" car fresh from the factory. Too bad Mini won't consider it that way, and sell it to me as a used car for less $$!

I really like this one... though... .when scaled down to NAM sig block size it is really difficult to read the text. I think a different color font may help that...also maybe a sans serif font too? But I really do like the styling

If you really want to impress him next time you're out driving together in the MINI remark to him how tight the chassis feels and how direct the steering is. If he's into cars he won't be able to keep his hands off you for the rest of the day!

I really like both badge designs, although I think the one without the names would be better for an actual outside badge design for clarity. One thing I thought to mention, and admittedly this is nitpicking a bit, the origin point in England could be moved a little to more accurately reflect where Oxford/Southampton is in the UK.

As far as the retro fusion look badge, I like it a lot as well! Would give a great choice between the two styles depending on your tastes. The only thing that could be added there would be the year as well!

Such talented graphic designers we have in Week 23.

Here's a few pics. I've only debadged, tinted at 20% since 15% looked way dark with the dark interior (makes a big difference), replaced the antenna with the stub and put on the JCW grill. Next on the agenda is blacking out the beltline and possibly blacking out the headlight rings and grill trim....we'll see!

Know exactly what you men Gemgirl, my husband was laughing all morning when I started 'jonesing' over car wax and car shampoos!! I thought he would fall into his coffee when I said that Maggy needed a midweek wash!!

In our 28 years together, he has never seen me wash a car! Since I got Maggy~2 washes and a wax last weekend. Banana Gloss on order!!

Rictus is gorgeous. Congrats to everyone in Week 23 who are motoring!
