St. Louis MINI sightings!
Well finally after tracking and wanting a Mini since 2002 I picked up my 2006 MCS on Dec 30. Here are pictures and I need to find a name for him yet.
Got him with Sport, Premium, Cold Weather, HK, Web Spoke wheels, Bluetooth, and BMW Security System. I have 112 miles on him and have loved everyone we put on so far. Took to church yesterday and had to wait for about 30 min. before we could leave, everyone wanted to see the Mini.
Hope to see you all at the next meeting of the Mini's.

Congratulations, Scott! We picked up our Mini this morning, and I drove him (no name yet) home in the rain. Great fun -- but I didn't see any other Minis to wave at on my way! Now I've gotta go clean up our Eclipse, which will be going to a good home with our brother-in-law. See you all around town!
Picking Ours Up on Wednesday

I'm a little bummed but still love the dirve. I haven't seen a single MINI since I purchased mine going to and from Festus to Broadway each day. I'm still looking and driving to and from work is now a joy to look forward to each day.
We must be driving the smae roads but at different times. I work at the old DMA facility and there are about seven MINIs here now two are silver with black. My MINI is Chili Red with black top so if you see me please beep and wave. I saw a Pepper white with balck top when I was coming back fro the MINI dealer but no others yet. I have found that the trip to and from home/work is easier, quicker and much more enjoyable since getting "Little 95".
Do you live in the city of Festus or outside, I'm about 10 miles south off hwy 61 and Danby Road area?
FYI. By the way the name "Little 95" has nothing to do with speed it is what I was called Little 95 after my father who's badge number in the Minnesota State Patrol was 95.

Yeah, I do shift work. The last two weeks I was on days, 7 to 3. I'm usually on the road by 530-545. I will be on afternoons for the next two weeks. I live off of Plattin rd on Rock n Horse Farms Dr. My Mini is an 05 MC no s.

I Think I Saw A New MCC
Driving through Kirkwood on Saturday morning, I saw a new MCC that is a white/beige color w/black top. Hopefully since it is close to Mr Sun, we will have to go introduce ourselves.
Saw a Chili Rd with white top going north on hwy 55 near Cape G yesterday. We headed to Sikeston and had a lot of stares while down there, there must not be very many MINI's down that way yet.
By the way I averaged 30.1mpg at 73 down and back.

We live in Dexter(20 miles West of Sikeston on US60) and there only 2 or 3 MINI's in Dexter. I know of 1 in Sikeston (a St Louis MINI member), one in Poplar Bluff, and a couple in Cape.
We must have missed each other. We ate lunch in Sikeston, then went up 55 to Cape and spent the day there. Would really like to see another MINI-it get kind of lonely down here in Swampeast Missouri.
We went to Lamberts got there at 1100 and went to the outlet mall for a couple of hours before heading home. We stopped at the Sears Grand store in Cape on the way home but was getting stares from everyone there in traffic. We don't have many MINIs around Festus yet either. I'll try to shoot you an e-mail if it looks like we are headed down that way again to possibly meet up down there somewheres. I can speak Swampeast Missouri and like taking trips down that way but don't get to very often.
Yep, we just missed each other in Sikeston. You were probably at the outlet mall when we got on I55.
Let us know next time you head this way and we'll try to get together. We don't make to StL as much as we would like, but I'll try to let you know next time we head north.
Driving around in a MINI down here can give you a complex because it seems everyone is staring and pointing at you. It takes a little getting used to. I will have to say that I haven't had any negative remarks or attitudes, though.

The only problem we encountered is not having much space for packages when making purchases at places like the outlet mall. Otherwise I wouldn't want to drive in anything else and I've only had Little 95 since Dec 30, I[m hooked for good. I noticed though driving at 75 or below on I55 is right lane driving, there are a lot of people moving pretty fast up and down I 55. I look forward to meeting you now when we get a chance.
I saw a blue with black top MINI in Festus last night on the way to Hapkido and Tae Kwon Do classes. I beeped and waved but not sure it they saw us, they were turning into K-Mart parking lot.
There are more MINIs showing up down our way now.

Ordered New Mini Cooper
Well I saw this forum and I thought I could let everone know that I just ordered my Mini on Friday from Mini of St. Louis. It should be ready to pick up sometime in March. I bought New Astro Black Cooper with the Premium, Sport and Cold weather packages. I can not wait. You'll probably see me in the South County area.
If there are any helpful tricks or things I should know about before I drive the car off the lot please let me know.
Some questions I may have?
Where to purchase the best quality gas? Octane?
Air Pressure on Tires? I have 16inch Good Year All seasons.
How to break in the engine?

Could be and I'm getting used to the staring and pointing now. I had a young girl turning off Hwy A in Festus smiling from ear to ear staring at my wife and I on Sat. Also, a group of people at one of the tire places in Festus were all pointing at us while we drove by. It is becoming fun to see the reactions of people when they see the MINI.
Also, had to change names for my MINI this weekend "little 95" didn't stick/fit so he is now Gunner (Jr) after the rank I held in USMC, and being so quick to move on the road.

Gas: NEVER put anything lower than 91 in your MINI. The car is timed for premium, and while the knock sensor should retard the timing for lower octane, it's just not worth the risk for a couple $ per fillup.
Tire pressure: Up to your taste. I run 33 in the winter on my runflats, for decent turn-in but also decent ride. In the summer, I run Yoko AVS100's on different wheels, and I run 36-38 in them for best steering response.
Break-in: Before 1300 miles, no full throttle, or revs over 4500rpm unless really needed for traffic. After 1300, I would change the oil and then run that oil out as long as you are comfortable. There are many opinions on oil here, so do a search and you'll find tons. With all the track stuff I do, I am now running Mobil 1 and changing every 5-7k.

I saw Silver with black top MINI on the way to work this morning on Hwy 55. I was wondering if it was PAT2982 since you had told me you drive the same route to Broadway. I didn't see them quick enough to beep the horn but I did wave, just hard to see in the dark. I was playing tag with a jurk driving a Mann's Construction truck who was bent on kissing Gunner's backside all the way from Festus until he turned off to go on 270 around butler hill road.
It was great seeing another MINI motoring along in the morning.

I saw a Silver MINI with a checked roof. Driving awya on 44E as I was heading 44W around 4:15ish or so. I thought it was wicked cool with the silver and checked roof. Didn't get a good look to see if it was an S or not.
Also durring my morning comute I seem to see the same dirty Black MINI at least 3 times a week. SO need to get that boy clean, alsmot grey! =P
