OK, it was Mini night at the Dierberg's on Manchester at Baxter....

Parked Spike next to a matching Chili Red/White, right across the aisle from a Yellow/Black one....

Could hardly contain my enthusiasm, ended up forgetting one of the things I went there for!

This may not count as an actual St Louis Mini sighting , but we were on our way to St Louis yesterday (from Effingham) and we met a dark silver w/checkerborad mirrors, roof and racing stripes going east on I-70 (between Vandalia and Effingham). Looked like Flash2, but if it wasn't he has twin brother out there

That was me going to Bloomington, IN to see my brother's band. Had a good trips and got 26mpg which is good for an S...

What's up with the 26mpg, did you take the back roads or what. I thought S's were suppose to get 25/32. Surely you can squeeze out 29-30 on the highway!

 

With both of my S's, I can usually get 28-30 on a long highway run with level roads. Going to Bloomington, I was on a 2 lane for 40 miles or so, so I did 8-10 passes at 90 or so. That really sucks the mileage down but is fun of course. The best I have ever done is 32 mpg on a long run in KS and 29.5 in Montana at 95 the whole time.

In the city I get 22 or so since I don't nurse it away from a stop and don't short shift.

I was at the Pet Expo at Queeny Park on Sunday, April 17. In front of the Recreation Complex there was an all black MINI. No representative around, but MINI handouts on the windshield.

Also I saw the Red Bull MINI in the parking lot, looks like an el camino, but has a large Red Bull can in the pickup area. I talked to the owner (Dusty) and he said he had recently got it from the Hamptons in NY. He works for Red Bull here in St. Louis. I gave him our web site address, as well as my email address. We discussed becoming a member, and he said he would check out the web site. It was also mention perhaps that Red Bull could get involved with our club. I said we could be interested, I can discuss this further at an upcoming board meeting.

I know this isn't St Louis, per se, but driving home today, I saw a pure silver cabrio with black top (down, of course) going south on I-55, just south of Cape Girardeau. I was so astounded to see one I completely forgot that I am also in a MINI, lol. We both checked each other's cars out from across the interstate median, I think he waved, but by then it was too late for me to react. So whoever you were, if you see this, a belated thumbs up to you!

 

I saw an interesting one yesterday going west on olive from 270. I was sitting across an intersection at a light from it, and at first...i thought it was a red cooper or s, didn't get that good of a look, with a carbon fiber bonnet. I was like...thats cool...but after the light changed and we went past each other, i saw that it was a black cooper with the aero kit painted red. I thought to myself....'interesting'. Not sure how i feel about that...but to each his own...right? Also i waved and i got no reply...

 

I think MINI of StL offers this color selection as an option for those fitting the Aerokit as I've seen a CR w/ black and a LY w/ White MINIs. But I'm with you, I thought when I've seen them.

 

i remember seeing a ly/white one like that at the dealer...i asked them why they hadn't painted it yet.

 

I know I am 90 miles south, but gee, a Cape Girardeau sightings topic with only me posting would be rather boring!

Saw the B/W MC actually driven today and waved at the driver. He grinned and waved back. Next time I see his car parked I will leave a note about the club.

 

Saw a MINI today about 12:15PM waiting at the light to turn left off of Big Bend onto northbound Lindbergh. Smiles, thumbs up, and waves from all three people in the car. CR/W MC, sport package, bonnet stripes... come to think of it, it was a very handsome MINI.

 

Their's probably wasn't as clean as yours though, Adam.

 

Slow MINI day here! Got on Hwy. 40 west @ Kighshighway and was next to a black MC, passed them, then passed a DS MC at roughly Warson. Saw a CR MCC going east in the fast lane. Then parked next to a DS MCS in Chesterfield. Only got a smile from one of them Of course, I usually see 3-4 a day lately

 

I am a little late with the picture, but my wife finally got her film roll developed. This is the MINI I mentioned in my earlier post. I was at the Pet Expo at Queeny Park on April 17th and took this picture.

I was headed south on 270 near Dorsett today at about 12:30, and in the fast lane of northbound 270 here comes four cars, all different colors, I think orange, yellow, blue (or green) and light purple. Looked like they had some graphics on them also, and the colors didn't look like standard Mini colors. Anybody else see this?

Also, I keep seeing the "Got Junk" Mini at Missouri Baptist....

Maybe I need a sponsor?!?

 

Saw an orange 'S' Cabrio today on Lindbergh at Patterson going south at about 5pm.... couldn't catch him in the traffic, though. Only the second Mini I've ever seen in that neck of the woods!

How often are you up here on Olive and at about what times. I'm running up and down olive because i live right there, but never seem to run into you....

Was good to see some of you guys at the Euromeet. Way better turnout that last year's for the mini crowd.
