St. Louis MINI sightings!

Just thought I would start this thread. Living in the conservative South County area, the only MINI I see is my own. I know "Flash" & "Killerbee" live close, but where are all the MINIs?????? I occasionally see an Electric blue MCS with white bonnet stripes in the Sunset Hills area.
Happy MINI Hunting......
Lois

Your in the wrong part of town Lois

Between going to work and running errands, I must see 2-3 MINIs a day. There's a bunch in the Maplewood, Brentwood, Richmond Heights areas.

I see 4-5 per day in South City, Brentwood, and Clayton. I always try to leave a flyer on windshields when I have time...

Tell me about it. Everyone in South County knows me by my MINI. My son lives in U City & I see MINIs all the time. And when I venture into Jeff County I REALLY get the looks

Hello from Imperial!

I have two 1970 Mini Coopers.
One British Racing Green, the other is Flame Red.

Why in the world can't we just post pics from our hard drive?

If anyone would like to see pics of them, let me know.

Bill

I spotted a few Mini's while I was out there in August. I do believe I saw "Killer Bee" on Lindbergh on a saturday afternoon.

You'll see one more in the U-City area in a few weeks. Mine is "on the boat" right now!

Brad,
That's so awesome that you got pepper white with a black top! I can't wait to see it!

Have you seen the tracking site for your car on the boat? Check this thread and look at the post by Deli; it's about 3/4 down the page. You can find out exactly where your baby is!

MINI Tracking

Looking forward to motoring with you!

Great pics ,Doug. MINIs look good at the Arch.
Welcome, Brad. Hope to spot your MINI soon when I'm in University City.
Bill, I've seen several classic Minis on Tesson Ferry by St. Anthony's. Are they yours?

Happy Motoring to all

Hey Louie!

No, those are not mine.
Probably J&W Automotive's clientelle.
He is the local Classic Mini guru, after all.

NICE guy and a wealth of Mini knowledge.

Brad,

You going to come out on the 18th and show us all your new ride?

Then you can experience really what a MINI can do!

My yellow MCS with black roof and bonnet stripes and I live in Kirkwood. I've had her for just over a week now. I see an all black MCS with the extra driving lights and dark tinted windows at Big Bend and Geyer at least twice a week in the afternoon. I've seen a few others here and there but not all that many. I did see a blue one with aftermarket wheels at Schnucks in Des Peres last night during the heavy downpour. It was raining to hard to approach the owners however.

My CR/CR is hiding in the garage with a blown out Spax coilover strut suffered on the Super Street/EuroTuner Tour to NOPI weekend before last. Rough Mississippi roads, coilovers cranked down low, and struts up on firm were too much, I guess.

I'm waiting for Penske to send me a prototype coilover setup so I can get it back together in time for Phil's track day come November.

Blown strut or not, it's going to Brad's this weekend for the detailing get together.

I hope you get it together for November; it should be a fun day! Let us know how things progress.
On a different note, I talked to Ray Cromer last night. He really wants to do a detailing day in someone's garage. I nominate Brad for this! Maybe in Jan or Feb? I saw the pics of Brad's garage and am jealous!

At the end of every day, my daughter, my wife and I tally up the Mini Coopers we see during the day. Some days I come home depressed not having seen a Mini for the dya and my wife says "I saw four today!". We can't wait to get our own---due in November! We live in Kirkwood, so keep an eye out for a new one in that area then!

Welcome,
We seem to have a shortage of MINIs in our area. I do see them occasionally in the Sunset hills/Kirkwood area. They are a rare commodity here in Concord Village. What color is yours? I'll keep my eyes peeled. Mine is CR/B with new black bonnet stripes & a ding in it's side!!!!

Thanks for the 'welcome'. Our MCS will be electric blue with white roof (with moonroof) and white wheels. I'll be plying Big Bend and 44 everyday into and back from downtown St. Louis. Hope to run into you soon!

Hope to see you plying the same stretch on occasion. I take 44 from Shrewsbury to Kingshighway every morning and evening to and from work, not because I have to (just as fast to take Arsenal), just like driving the MINI at 70+mph whenever I can!

Spent Saturday in MINI Land- so many MINIs I lost count-PW/B on Heman in U City,
PW/B on Arsenal by Tower Grove Park, Indy Blue on Delmar U City, All black in Webster, Light grey/black on Zinnia's lot in Webster, & met MINI owners at Shaw's Garden-it truly was a MINI kind of day.

I think there should be a test for owning a MINI!
That way we can weed out all those that don't acknowledge other MINIs on the road. Now I know, sometimes you don't seem them until you pass or its too late, but then there's those drivers that should just as well be driving a Camry!

I got behind a MINI at Hanley and 40 yesterday at the light, sat there for a good 20-30secs. and never once did he acknowledge me! The better ones are the ones that look like you insult them when you wave!

Anyways, there I go ranting again

Sarah and I saw two MINIs yesterday and both drivers were oblivious, despite my honking and waving. I guess not everyone is a car nut like I am!

On a better note, I saw a beautiful red classic Mini Cooper sportspack on Kingshighway. He waved and honked; I'm not sure if he's in the club or not.

That's the way to do it!

Laclede,
I'll honk and wave like mad if I see you on 44!
Currently, I honk and wave at Minis from my Subaru and they probably think I'm nuts! (Latest incident was last Sunday at Tower Grove Park---a CR/R MCS. Didn't seem to notice me though.)
