St. Louis MINI sightings!
Let's hope he does!
By they way, in the Post-Dispatch the other day, there was a picture (accompanying an article on the recent gas price hikes) of a guy filling up his Cooper. The caption said that the owner was now using regular instead of premium because of the high prices.

I was behind the Blue Meanie on Ballas this AM.... love the boot stripes.... tried to catch up to honk, but there was a slooooow sedan between us
Spike says hi, nevertheless.
Also there's a new Mini in our neighborhood off of 141, red with a GB badge, not sure if you're an S or not, you were going too fast

I would advise against that. Our MINIs are timed for 91 octane, putting less than that may cause detonation. Your only guard against detonation with lower octane fuel is the knock sensor, which is never foolproof.
Look at it this way: putting 89 in instead on 91 will save you 10 cents per gallon per fillup, which works out to about $1.20 per tank. The savings is simply so small that it's not worth doing. You can save $1.20 per tank by just driving conservatively (sp).
I filled up the other day and paid $35 for almost 12 gallons. That's only $5 more than I paid a month ago and I fill up 3-4 times per month, so the latest hike will cost an extra $20 per month. I can deal with that. Gas prices will stabilze in the next couple months as things get back to normal with supply and demand.
I don't mind the $3 gas at all. Maybe it will wake some of America up to the fact that they don't need a Nissan Armada to commute alone to work! :-)

I've always found it interesting to look at inflation adjusted prices of gasoline. Granted, this latest spike is pretty steep, but the main trend is that the real cost of gasoline has either gone down or remained about the same for the last twenty years.
I always seem to see a Red/White Mini most days, I think the lady who drives it lives near me. I never remember the plate, but I know she has something large hanging off the rear-view mirror.
Just the other day on 44, I was luckly sandwiched between two MINIs. One Blue and BRG.
So if you see a green Jeep who speeds up to you, and then kinda 'Orbits' you, that just me, drooling, and waiting for mine to show.

Yes, I caught a glimpse of Spike on the curve/on ramp from Ballas to 40 west.
Just spotted a silver MINI exiting from the Purina (Building E?) Parking lot. Was on my way back from lunch, and that was a nice treat. And to think, if not for MODOT road work, I would have come in another direction.
Another sighting. The UGLY Tidy Cat Yellow / Orange MC. They took a wonderful Yellow MC, and stuck this giant Orange 'Cap' on the roof. Then they wrapped the entire thing in these strange images, covering up the logos. I wish I had a camera so I could show you how sick this thing looks.

So right now it is sitting in the visitor lot outside my building. I'll have to remember to bring my pocket camera with me from now on.
I was in St Louis today (driving my dad's Magnum RT)
and saw three MINIs. Dark Silver/White; BRG/White both going West on I64 about 11:30am, then a Blk/Blk (with IL plates) going East on I 270 about 3:30pm, then lo and behold when I get back to Effingham I met the Red Bull Mini down the street from where my parents live. I gave it a big wave
, but he probably thought I was a fan of Red Bull instead of the car.

I am thankful that there is an asterisk after "Mini" on the page, with a disclaimer making it clear that Mini doesn't endorse anything to do with this....
They *are* giving away a Mini, though:

Saw a Red/Blk MINI Sunday on my way to Best Buy in Ellesville. I have to say it look very nice, I've never seen Red/Blk before. Some friends of mine said there was another Red one in the parking lot when I was there, but it was pulling out as they left. So it looks like there is a MINI stalking me.....
