Saw a gold with black roof & black bonnet stripes on St Anthony's lot in South County today. Tried to run after the guy but couldn't catch him(I was walking) Also saw a LY/W on South Grand near I-44-Waved but he didn't. We're off to the Dragon but unfortunately not in Louie. Going in the little topless beauty & I hear rain is predicted!!!!!!

I just returned last night from a meeting in Beijing, China----didn't see a single MINI

It was great seeing all those MINIs after a week of bicycles! (Not that there is anything wrong with bicycles ..... )

 

OK, after a MONTH of driving and seeing virtually no minis (other than the auto show, that is) I saw two in two days. First was a CR/W MCS on 141 near Olive on Sunday morning (think it might be my neighbor, but not sure) and then Monday morning saw a CR/W with a yellow ribbon sticker on the boot, passed me on the ramp from 40 east to 270 south. Still waiting for someone to honk at me I work in North County, and have never seen a Mini north of 70. Anyone out there?

 

I know the feeling. Over here in Creve Coeur, i dont see much. There's a regular guy i know. Owns a CR/B aero kit, jcw, R90, S. Its a bad car. I passed an all black MCS (blacked out windows and stuff) right on ballas at the post office. Lets see ... thats about it

Finally met the owner of the all black MCS I see here in South County. We were both at Costco. Told her how to join the MINI Club. Got to keep recruiting

Okay, so finally I see someone I can possibly get a wave from. On Hwy 40, heading east at the 270 intersection, over in the left lane, IB/W Cooper with Jackson County, Iowa plates and a Mini of STL holder. I pull over behind, and she FLOORS it, probably doing about 85. It takes me until Brentwood to catch her, since we're both exiting there. Follow her through the turn, pull up next to her, could NOT get her to look left for anything. Just trying to share some Mini-love to brighten your day, not a stalker! Needless to say, no wave there. Maybe she was having a bad day, after all, I did notice that her windshield was cracked Maybe someday someone will wave at me :smile:

 

Thanks to the lovely chap in the IB/W MCS with the bike rack that waved at me on highway 40 at the 270 interchange. After a month and a half, my first Mini wave!:smile:

 

What a great MINI commute today! Saw 4 MINIs this morning.

1 - PS/B MC - going north on Geyer and turned east onto Clayton.

2 - PW/B MC - going north on Ballas just south of Clayton.

3 - LY/B MC - going north on Kirkwood road just north of I-44.

4 - B/B MCS - blew by me on eastbound I-44 - personalized St. Louis Cards plates - NIKON

Saw a IB/IB MC westbound on I44 at Big Bend, he blew by me without a wave but I caught up & blew by him. He never did wave. Saw a PW/B at Lindbergh & Watson but he turned off before I caught up. Saw an all light silver & a IB/W by St Anthony's Hospital. String, we travel in the same areas, keep an eye out for Louie CR/B MNI-SUV. It's ME

Lets see....

1. In clayton today, a gentalmen test driving an all black MCS. Didnt see him in time to wave, but hopefully he was enjoying himself.

2. IB/W mcs on olive just before 270, had a little fun, but never got hime to wave or look over.

3. And ... a black mc turning around in the ruther jeep parking lot. Hope they're not getting rid of their baby.

Black/Black MC on 141 southbound, exited at Clayton.... I tried to slow down and let him/her catch me, but they were too slow.... even so, their car was smiling :smile:

Unfortunately I won't get back in town until after the happy hour. Boo! I can't believe I'm missing the first one that's occurred since I got Spike.

 

Another good MINI weekend!

Left the house and turning north on Hanley from Manchester got behind a PW S. Followed it to Hwy. 40, getting on Hwy. 40 passed a BRG S getting off and then got on in front of a CR Cooper. The CR followed me up to Page where it got off.

Was on the westbound offramp at Hanley road around 4:30-5:00PM. Was also traveling in Southern Illinois yesterday. Returning on Route 127 saw a car coming the opposite direction with DRL's and a white roof. As it got closer I realized it was a MINI and the driver waving. Gave a flash of the high beams as I passed, guess you don't see many MINIs in that area of the world! :smile:

Was on Delmar Wednesday evening, about 9ish, going west near Hanley. Got waved at by a blue MCS with white stripes and a roof rack. Spike smiled all the way home.

Then, today (7/1) over on 270 westbound in IL, mile 7, spotted a CR/W MCS with stripes behind me (Indiana plates.) Slowed down so they could pass, and got a wave. Passed back and forth a couple of times, all the way to the 270/Rock Road intersection. Wonder what everyone else thought, seeing identical Minis next to each other?

 

Had a good laugh last night.

Got on 44 eastbound at 141. Coming up to Bowles, a gal in a EB/W Cooper came up behind me and got in the far left lane. As I was coming up to a slow truck, I changed to the far right lane. As we passed the truck, in front of him was another EB/W Cooper. We both passed it at the same time, and for a second or two it was 3 wide in Coopers on 44. Got a wry smile from the first Cooper and nothing from the 2nd.

Lets see, last night heading south on Lindberg, i had just gotten off of 40 heading south on Lindberg and a DS/B MCS it looked like got behind me but then proceded to head west onto 40. They flashed their brights and i threw my hands out the sunroof waving. I had slowed tremendously hoping they would catch me, but alas, they got on the highway.

 

Hello STLMINI folk. Greetings from Manila! I've been away for weeks now and I haven't seen a single new MINI here. I've seen several classic minis though. I was in Singapore for a week and saw one IB MINI. Can't wait to get back home and see all you folks driving around in your beloved cars. I MISS MY MINI !!!

 

OK, I finally saw another Mini in North County (other than mine, of course.) On Lindbergh at about 1:30 on Thursday the 22nd, ust south of Washington and north of 270, silver with I think a black roof. Had a hard time catching it to find out more!

 

Saw about 200 MINIs in Memphis today Whoops wrong city Louie got to schmooz with all the Roadshow MINIs at their event today. He was the only MO MINI in the bunch. We were invited because I'm ordering my Cabrio from Roadshow. It was a great roadtrip but then road trips are always fun in a MINI

Just thought I would let you all know that this is my Mini, and I can be seen Monday through Fridays commuting between Bridgeton, MO and Edwardsville, IL on I-270. Also in Bridgeton a silver and black Mini lives about 1/2 mile from me, as well I have seen another BRG on occasion.

I constantly see a CR/W S in the Missouri Research Park. I've given up trying to get a wave out of him though...

 

I rarely see any Minis lately, but my husband swears I'm just "not looking" because he sees them all the time. So yesterday I had to drive his car to haul some large boxes (and you don't realize how you love your mini until you're forced to drive something else) and saw FIVE minis on my usual route, including one that followed me for about five miles.

Anyone else had this experience with non-mini cars attracting minis? Maybe my Mini is negatively charged or something and repels? Maybe we can get some shock therapy if I actually make it out of work in time for happy hour next week....

 

Same thing happens to me Lately I've had to drive the Miata while I am waiting for Sunnie the Cabrio(Gary is driving Louie), I've seen 4 or 5 MINIs a day & they all look at me like I'm nuts when I wave at them

We're new Mini owners, have had our 2005 Mini for just 9 days. It's Chili red with a white top and sunroof. We're in the Clayton/U. City area and did see five other Mini's last weekend while we were out and about. Two in the Compton Hgts. area, one at Brentwood Pointe, one on Forsyth and one on Wash U.'s parking lot. A number of months back my husband was at "First Watch" in Clayton, saw a Mini owner and asked him what he thought of it. His response was that he owns a Porsche and the Mini is more fun to drive! We can't attest to that claim, but I can say that I know the look of joy when I see it and my husband looks like a kid at Christmas!
