OK, guys and gals...It seems to be working!!!!

MINI OL has finally admitted that Shadowfax is being held at the VPC (but won't release charges) the long-awaited update now shows me "in custody" and my parole date stayed the same...EDD 4/23 (also confirmed by my MA)!

I can only conclude that this is the result of a massive flow of chi released by your chanting and enhanced by my UK beer only pledge.

In the true spirit of sacrifice I have extended the pledge beyond beer to include:
1) only Brit music (I continue to suffer...Clash, Kinks, Stones, Oasis, Stereolab...) I don't know how much I can stand
2) Only English video (Python, etc.)

Y'all have to know this is killing me...

Just waiting for that call!!!

Cheers and nighty-night (I have to go put on my Clash DVD and fold laundry )

da chef

PS--Rachel the framing job is complete, couldn't be happier, I'll try to post a pic on Monday...thanks again!!!

Love to hear your impressions, I'm driving vicariously through y'all so don't let me down... ). I've only turned off the DSC very occasionally, and usually only for a short while (a favorite sequence of corners that I wanna get a bit crazy with ), then I'll flick it back on.

---> Nobody's commented on my H-Sport springs! I'm way pleased with them, check out the "What springs for my MCS?" thread in Performance Mods.

Ryan,

I noticed your springs right away, and I was going to post, but My daughter had my computer tied up all night watching dvd's in french. I was also enjoying the Giants whup up on the Dodgers for the 5th time this year.

Anyway, I love the looks on your new set-up. I was pleased to hear that you feel that the ride is a bit smoother. They are definately on my upgrade list.

Chef, I choose not to get the DSC mostly to save some on the cost, but I figure if I was going to spend a bunch of money on a car that handled so great, why let the computer drive it? I did test drive it, and got it to flash once.

Also chef, don't forget the German portion of your car. Maybe if you cook some Brats in English beer it might help.

If all else fails then steak and kidney pie with a side of jellied eels will have to do.

Filled up my tank for the first time yesterday and got 30.54 mpg. The computer was reading 28.4 average mpg. That was with about 20% freeway and the rest around town. I used the A/C about 20% of the time also, and not on the freeway.

Happy Easter to all,

Andy

and don't forget 100 pages in April

Just got in from another roadtrip to New York. It was an early one - left at 6am to be at Temple by 9am (first time for me in a Temple too!).

I'm pleased to say that the car continues to please. The tires are just getting better and better - the grip, the handling, the ride all impress me greatly. At a hair over 700 miles (can you BELIEVE that I generally only put 500 miles on a car a month and here I've put 700 on in four days?! EEEEEK!), the engine is starting to loosen up noticeably. It's MUCH smoother and 'open' when pressed near the 95mph/4500rpm limits. I'm gradually starting to increase the times that those occasions happen. It responds with a supercharger whine and an 'I want MORE' feeling throughout the car.

The h/k sound is improving as well.

I'm having a hard time prying it from SO's hot little hands. I'm giving y'all my one-week-later assessment in installments.. I think the stripe install should finish that off nicely.

Time for work... must battle the baseball crowds to get there.

MMMMMMMMMMM...JELLIED EELS....

Thanks for the baseball update Andy, I'm not in enough pain waiting for the car so I definitely need to hear about my Dodgers getting crushed by the Giants again...I suppose that I should dislike you as a Gi'nts fan, but then MCO and April Club membership outweighs that by a lot so I guess you're OK in my book...have y'all still only lost twice????

Great feedback on the springs and DSC, I ended up getting it as part of the sport package since I wanted the Xenons and fog lamps anyway, it wasn't much more to spring for the whole package...

Must away now, my coffeehouse is calling, check y'all later!

Chef - not sure if you've seen this yet, but Vancouver Mini Club has a special cut-out section for Mini's...

http://www.vancouverminiclub.ca/papercut.html

not *quite* your car, but you can always color it to your heart's content, and maybe add some really cool stripes

btw, got the salsas. Can't wait to try them!

Ryan, I'll send those postcards out when I get a chance to pack 'em up and get to the postoffice. Tomorrow's Patriot's Day around here, Marathon Monday, AND there's another baseball game. So many people everywhere! Definitely a beat 'em with a crutch sort of day

Chef: The dish looked OK until you described what is in it.

Ryan: The springs update looks like it worked out. Nice going. I will try to measure my ride height tommorow.

I have really tried to get the DSC light to come on, but to no avail, even with the tail coming about a tiny bit on a bumpy on ramp.

I think I am missing that little cap thingie over the right cup holder. Did not come with my car.

OWLA coming up.

Regards,
Red

Chef,

I couldn't tell for sure but I don't think I saw a bite missing from the plate of jellied eels. How could you fail your student if you didn't taste it?

Thanks for the photo, it brought me back to Portsmouth where I first encountered the delicacy(?).

You are forgiven for being a Dodger fan also. For what it's worth, while I was out motoring Sun eve. your Dodgers beat the jellied eels out of my Giants 16-4. Can't win them all.

Here's to a much anticipated arrival of Shadowfax THIS WEEK!

Andy

OK everybody!

Here's the results of my big framing project!
(Thanks to Rachel for sending the postcards  )

and that y'all don't plan to win every game, just 9 out of every 10...(how do you think Dusty feels now???)

Hope all are well!

Later,
chef

hay pamato, any news on your MINIs delivery?

i just talked to my MA in St. Loius this morning, and finally squared away my financing. seems BMW Finance was keen to get my business after i started shopping around for lower interest rates than my MA initially olffered me. all said and done, they came back with 4.5%, which i thought was pretty darn good.

so the fiance, the 2 Jack Russells and i are jumping in a rental car Tuesday night to start the drive to STL from Denver. my MINI should be in my hot little hands first thing Thursday morning...
