Jared, that's a crazy delay between production and pickup! Usually it's about a month from birthdate to delivery date!

Chef, "grab something, bite down, and give it hell! We're gonna get thru this!" Tom Arnold in Austin Powers

Cheers,
Ryan

The VPC/VDC in-limbo thing is annoying! I wish MINIUSA would develop a system so we wouldn't have to freak out while our MINI's are/were in there!

Pyro made his first trip to the gas pump today.

Isn't that cap holder cool. And I love the way Chevron color-coordinates the nozzle boot to match a CR/B.

I did the ugly airbag stickerectomy tonight. Piece of cake.

Hang in there Chef, You'll make it. Maybe our newest member Jaredthetenor will sing for you.

I got some smoke tint material at HOme depot. I'm going to try and tint the third brake light, and maybe the tail lights to.

Looking forward to seeing all the new April deliveries.

Andy

It's yours... what tweaks me is that I won't have time to get the motor broken in before the BMP Design run to Tyler or my annual pilgrimage to NO, LA to the Jazz Fest...

>>Early next week would work for me, my EDD is 4/23. what's yours?

My EDD on the OL is 4/20, my MA says it should take 1.5 days to come from the VPC to Houston... once it's released... So, I'm hoping for a Friday release!!!!

Well, the night owls have begun to arise!!!!

I have to ask this because its been driving me nuts!?!? (Along with the small matter of WHERE'S MY MINI!!!

Someone tell me the difference between VPC and VDC. I see them used interchangably, and I know that VDC=Vehicle Distribution Center. So what is VPC? Vehicle Prison Center?!?

Any takers?

Chef, I think the reason you're in the VPC is because of all the rowdy behavior on the boat.

Maybe it's like a de-tox thing.

Almost 500 miles in one week, yikes! It doesn't even seem like it. Although the MCS is very easy to learn quickly, I'm a "ramp up" kind of driver, meaning I slowly reach the limits of the car's handling (unlike Felipe Massa! The styling is head-turning awesome, inside and out, the seats hold me better than my straightjacket (joking here!), and although the Xenon's shudder a bit over every bump, they illuminate the road awesome!

You know, you might be right... my MCS was built on St. Patty's day... maybe she started celebrating the day she was born.... and hasn't slowed down yet... I love a spirited female.....

wow.. what a day...

I'm exhausted. Wish I could sleep in my car tonight, but it's too danged cold.

More later, when I've recovered. But one thing I've got to comment.. the mini's like a puppy to drive. It just keeps coming back asking for more, wanting to play. I'd say it does this no matter what you throw at it, but, ah... the analogy rather breaks down there.

MOST AMUSING DEPT.

Last evening, I was driv, er, motoring in my native Brooklyn to get something to eat, and was stopped at the inevitable traffic signal. Had both windows open enjoying the bizarre 78-degree spring weather. Hear a loud whistle, turn left to see a black teenager, around 16, smile and give me the "thumbs-up". I nodded, smiled back and mouthed "thank you". There's almost nothing funnier than being a white, 47-year old man, with grey hair on the sides, getting the 'cool car' seal of approval. It's good to know you've finally arrived.

Can't linger long, the students and I are serving a 4 course Caribbean menu for 96 today and we need to get busy...but first a quick call to my MA, we haven't spoken in 3 days!!!!

Status report later...

Chef, you're giving me big-time droolage here. Everytime you post even a brief aside about food, it makes my stomach go rumbly and my chips taste (if possible) even staler. We're doing a Belizian/Yucatecan meal for the wedding in July, and I can't wait! I need good food now!

We took Daniel on his first take-out run tonight. The fiance gave me a big, "told you so," when I insisted on having him hold the Chinese food bag out the passenger window as I drove. I love my new car smell, and I don't want Daniel smelling like old vegetable dumplings. I've harassed the fiance for months now about his habit of holding fast food out the window, so that his WRX doesn't smell, "like dead McDonald's employees."

I shall comfort myself now with Cadbury eggs. Lots and lots of cadbury eggs....

Meghan

Almost had a heart attack when the CT roads tried to swallow an entire wheel. Made SO get out at the next rest stop and look to see if there was any damage (luckily not!).

Had a few strange drive-bys on the way back... some dude in a Neon kept coming back for looks at the MINI... he'd speed up and pass us, then slow waaaaaay down to get behind again, then repeated it another four times. Other people zoomed up, slammed on the brakes, looked, then took off again.

Just curious, any of you CWFACers who have taken delivery found the manual boot realease? I took a quick look and couldn't find it but assumed that maybe my MINI was built before they got the design to the line. My MA said something about he thought the release was under the back seat, but I haven't had a chance to re-examine. Anyone else looked and found theirs?

Alright! Seems that MiniUSA's systems updated today. WW site now says Tilley was discharged from the Jingu Maru on 4/10, as expected. My MA says today's report shows her in the VPD and due to be shipped out today! Looking good for next week in Milwaukee...

Arrgghh....what's going on?!! Now miniusa has my car's EDD at 4/24! It's been at VDC for like 3 weeks now! Does that mean that something went wrong w/ my mini and they have to fix it or what?! Does anyone have any clue why some minis are delayed that long and some are sent right out to the dealer as soon as the boat docks? Any info will relieve my pain....sob :???:
