My ship came into port yesterday and I believe my car has been released to the VPC. That's all I have for an update right now. Guess I'll give ASK MINI a call this afternoon to get an update on the VPC timeframe. Cheers.

Ryan - you've got my vote for M.A.! Seeing your posts on other topics is awe-inspiring - the depth of knowledge is amazing! You'll do a GREAT job, I know it! Just tell your prospective employers to put the CWFAC on the line, we'll give you all the references you need!

I'm all alone out there in the paint shop, I think. I'm afraid to call ASKMINI and bother them. Actually, I'm afraid I'll be disappointed if nothing's changed.

I hear the fear about getting the car too early.. I've still got to get mine cleaned up to sell.. then try to sell it. It's got the rice-appeal going for it, at least. I think. Heh.

Ryan - to answer today's poll...
I live in a condo complex and technically have only one official parking spot. Usually my Saturn is there and our other car, a Pathfinder finds a spot where it can.

But come April I will be bidding the Saturn farewell... then I'll park the mini in the trunk of the Pathfinder and all problems are solved!!

I think that it is only fitting that I finally shift to second gear by letting you know that 'Grover' is getting his coat of IB, and is in the Paint Shop. That puts me up to 152 and rolling towards that 3/14 Prod Date.

BTW - It's hard to tell with the paint spray in the booth, but I'd wager based on VINs that TziholMeg is just ahead of me, probably at 152 as well.

I'm weak. I called.

BUT! I'm at 160! Woohoo!

::dancing::

Emily was a bit surprised that my car has no dates attached to anything after it started production. Weird.

It matters not. Happy birthday, car!

Oh yeah, here comes the happy dance!

My MINI went 150 today!!!

Now, maybe I'll drown myself in a bottle of wine and see if I can wake up a couple of weeks older!

Rachel, you're TOO FUNNY! no need for your MINI to feel alone anymore, there's four of us at 160 now! You did, however, leave MiniSail alone in the paint booth!

Cheers,
Ryan

>>I have some interesting news today; there's a possibility I may become a Motoring Advisor at Motor City MINI! I interviewed today with the sales manager, we seemed to click well, and he was amazed at the work I've done with you guys for the CWFAC, which is of course, major cool stuff.
>>
>>No biased opinions now, do you guys think I'd be a good M.A.?

I think you would be overqualified! Perhaps the Manager or "Keeper of the MA's". You would be fantastic for the customers, but would it be enough to feed your intellect? You seem to be a very bright person, so I wonder if you would get bored, even though you love MINI's and working with people.

Good luck no matter what you do.

Very perceptive Red! I would prefer to be the store manager; I would get bored being strictly an M.A., and managing is exactly what I'm leading this idea up to. I think being an M.A. would cause me to branch into other ideas, like a Can't Wait for Delivery club for customers, and organizing my local MINICCA activities.

Thanks for your perspective, it's very much appreciated

Regards,
Ryan

Welcome to the club! But it looks like you may be a CWFM club member, you lucky person!

Wow. Where did you order it? I ordered mine 2/5 at Southampton, LI, and they said 8 weeks. And it seems right.

Are you near Kew Gardens/Forest Hills? (My birthplace)

Best of luck with your MINI!

Birdie,

What a great name for your MINI. When you tuck him in at night in a warm garage, or under a cover, it will "Bedtime for Bonzo"!

Thanks. My wife hates the name.......but it's not her car, now is it?

Anyway, anyone have any insight as to the VDC/VPC timeframes? Bonzo is due in Friday and I haven't a clue as to the estimated time. My EDD is 3/19, but I have seen posts in the March club where people are still waiting and their boat arrived 2 weeks ago. I'm always the optimist, but the wait is finally getting to me (since 11/25) and I want the car now!

Birdie

Has anyone noticed how the March club has their panties in a wad over the fact that we have more posts than they do?

Pretty good reading, check it out

Ryphile,

Where did you get the info that my MINI is waitlisted? Say it's not so

This does not bode well for us 3/14'ers.

Brgmini,

Not to worry. Everyone gets waitlisted until a boat arrives and you are placed on it.

brgmini12723: when I checked WW's site this morning, your VIN was nowhere to be found, but I see your booking is back! Onto the Carmen you go

Birdie33, i'll get on that right away, Sir!

Andy - Leave the poor March club alone , they're still gonna get their MINI's before us!

Cheers,
Ryan

No offense intended.
I was following birdies suggestion to go there and see how long the vdc is taking. Just stumbled onto it.
It's fun to go there and read about how much fun the're having with their long awaited minis.

Motor on Marchers!

Thanks for the compliments... That pic was taken in my backyard.. having fun with the digi camera... it was at my dad's pride and joy.. his pond/stream/waterfall.. i went outside and snapped a couple pics just now..

notice the MINI at the bottom..

with the string of lights around the perimeter

digi cams are fun, just like my MINI and it's ever-growing photo album

let me know if anyone wants pics of certain things in the MINI.. i'm loving experimenting with the camera!

Ha, i even made a lil movie of my xenons taking a bath and leveling..
