>>Also, have an old lower back injury that has been flaring up. Is it the aggresive lumbar support in the seats? The ride? Something not related to the MINI? Who cares.....just break out the heating pad! They rock!

waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting.....

I am just loving hearing all the glowing reports...my biggest concern is that there won't be anything left for me to say once shadowfax arrives...imagine that, chef blabbermouth speechless

More beautiful pictures, has anyone else noticed that the only thing that makes a MINI look better is another MNI, these babies seem to be happy in groups, I'm hoping we can get an Austin/Central Texas club going this summer, so many great places to motor to!!!

The bad news is we're running out of April...the good news is...we're running out of April. Even though I promised myself I'd hold off calling my MA until Wednesday, I think I'll probably decide that tomorrow is ALMOST Wednesday and it's time to call, even just to hear, no news, yet...who knows, he might say its on a truck!!!!

The brutal Brit pledge conditions continue...tonight its Bass Ale and early 80s 2Tone ska (Specials, Bodysnatchers, Selecter, etc.), don't know how much more I can endure...

Well, considering I didn't have a whole lot to say I guess I've rambled on long enough for now...

Onwards to 100 pages!

chef

I love this car!

Styling: I love the looks and feel of my Mini. Lots of comments and questions from all ages.

Interior: Probably the thing I am most impressed with is the roominess. At leas in the front seats. For a 6’4” person, there is all the room I need to drive comfortably. I even climbed in the back seat with my wife in front in a comfortable driving position for her. I like to doors for keeping stuff like sunglasses, cell phone, wallet, etc. I decided against the cubby pocket and Euroshelf because they are so far away with the seat far enough back for driving. I agree that the cupholders aren’t very good for drinks, but the rear cupholder works fine for a water bottle. A cross body reach with the left hand finds the bottle easily.

Upgrades: I upgraded to 16” wheels. I wish I could have opted out of the runflats seeing as how the MC has a spare, but no big deal. I love the secure feel of the sport seats that I got. The onboard computer is very basic compared to what other cars I have owned can do, but I like the outside temp. MFSW is my favorite upgrade. I still have to train myself better with the volume control on the back of the steering. I sometimes push the cruise control + button when I want more volume. The car goes faster, but the volume stays the same. Just my own personal quirk that I have to get over.

Sound: didn’t wand to spend extra on the HK system. Base system works great for me. I love the sound of jazzy bluesy rock. Listened to Boz Scaggs all day today and loved it.

Ride. The ride is firm and stable at all speeds. Don’t feel like I’m reding in a small car at all on the freeway. The ride is stiff. We have lots of bridges in the SF Bay area, and the expansion joints are rough, but that’s what you pay for incredible cornering. Handling on the twisties is all that I had hoped for and more. Can’t wait to get over the breakin period.

Performance. Can’t really tell because the MC just starts to pull at just under 4k rpm. Looking forward to letting her wind. So far, the power is just fine for me. I have never needed tons of acceleration, and what the MC has is satisfactory.

Negatives. Nothing major. The brake dust is a pain, but hopefully correctable with the green pads.

Bottom line. I love this car.

I saw my old VW driving down the road today. Don’t miss it a bit.

Andy

Chef, I am looking forward to your reports. There may not be much left to say, but you will do it with style and flair.

Lets get 100 pages tomorrow.

Hola amigos!! Thursday is almost here and i'm hoping that's when i take delivery. I might have one minor set back though. There's a slight possiblity that i might have to have my dad co-sign with me (i have pretty good credit, and a sizeable down payment, BUT this is my first auto loan) I know that doesn't sound to bad, but my dad lives in Pennsylvania. My MA said that might delay the pick up of my car because they have to airborne express the paperwork to my dad when the car comes in and then i have to wait for my dad to airborne express it back. He said that could take a minimum of 5 days!!!! And that doesn't even count the extra days IF my dad improperly fills it out (then i have to wait for the them to airborne express back and forth again!!)

So i'm hoping my credit and down will be enough for me to get a decent apr%.

What's weird about Irvine MINI is that they won't do the financing until the car comes in because they need a stock number. I know that a lot of you guys got the financing down way before the car came in, right? I wish they did that so, i could have taken care of this before this thursday. I just want to pick up my car and start motoring!!! Not having to worry about all this financing mess i might get into.

Peace

Jeremy

Woohoo....100 pages here we come!!!

100 pages is a good thing to wake up to - but wouldn't it be ironic if a non-Apriler got the first post on 100?

Edit: it was worth a shot - didn't get to open page 100 though! Congrats April club!

hey Andy, I added your "parking tips" to the Fun section of the CWFAC page, everyone check it out! (I also added a "#8" of my own, tee hee!)

---> Plug: Mully and I are still shopping for a 6th cabin-mate for the Deal's Gap trip! So far it's us, Zero (Adam), HollyRN, and JoeS475. We've proclaimed the cabin the "Party Cabin" and hopefully we'll live up to that name!

---> Yaaayy For Gr8brit's MINI being found!

Cheers,
Ryan

All hail pamato, master of the copy 'n' paste (at least I hope you're not typing all that over and over!

Taking a break between menus...I'm editing them so they make sense for the students to work from...right now I'm in between the Cinco de Mayo 4 course extravaganza and the High Tea celebrating a colleagues' National Certification...

Funny thing was the PTA president called today to inquire about catering for the Teacher of the Year reception (I was named Teacher of the Year)...should I cater this one or be a guest???

Don't know who's interested in seeing the Italian Job, but I have some info...

New version opens May 30th, the day after we get out of school...I BETTER have my MINI by then, will motor over to see it right away!!!

Just found out that the original (1969) version has been released on DVD in Europe and will be released here eventually...Amazon is taking preorders if you're interested! I really want to see the '69 version as I dig those old '60s "caper" movies and it's supposed to have a ::GREAT:: classic Mini chase scene (besides, Michael Caine is Austin Powers' father right???) I've tried all the vid rental places in Austin with no luck so I went ahead and ordered a copy from Amazon...hope they release it here soon, but I've gotten good at waiting lately...see it took me almost this whole post to start whining again!

100 yet????

chef

Randy of MINI-Motorsport called me today, just to ask how I like the product! Great service, and great guy to deal with I'm thrilled to get stuff from him in the future.

By the way, I'm SO in love with my H-Sport springs now

What did you decide on the camber issues now that you've lowered it?

I am geeting the madness rear bar... but I was thinking if I lower her, she'll then need something to adress the camber issues... ~$700, the spring ~$400... It starts to add up....

100 yet?
