Ahhhhh, my ship has sailed.

Now I can't wait for my ship to come in!

Congrats fellow Carmenites! The end is near (but not near enough).

Waiting for the ship to come in is tough. There is no news to hear, nothing from ASKmini, no progress to be made, just waiting. The MEDEA's call signs don't return anything.

My little buggy is somewhere out in the Atlantic ocean, headed for the bermuda triangle trying to get to California sometime around April Fools Day.

What, me worry?

ryan's duly noted records must have gotten lost...hehe.

i'm still on the jingu maru. she ought to be in Charleston on monday, to drop my baby off at the VPC. i'm not entirely ready for her, but then again, the greatest things come when you least expect them.

i had my first crash course lesson in driving a stick shift on saturday. i still need a lot of practice, but i'll tell you, shifting through gears is a bajillion times more fun than driving an automatic!

on the home front, spring break is over and i'm back in school. i love T1...but i hate homework!

the 19th is coming up quick? are you new england-ers ready?

I don't know what the deal is Rocket! You were supposed to be on the Carmen, but its' supposedly already left the docks, and your MINI hasn't been updated to "Loaded on Vessel". Unless your on the boat and they just forgot to update the computers, I dunno

Welcome back Casey "DaMatta"!

WagsFB, how was the ride and sound level on the Interstate on your drive to Baltimore? 1000 miles! You are almost there.

Did you shift up and down, slow up, accelerate to vary rhe rpm's on the Interstate?

[throws hands up in disgust (j/k)] "NOW ya tell me, sheeze!"

no prob dude, great to have you along for the floating-party, lots of fun MINI's to hang with, no doubt With party animals like Littlecajun, Rataha and Rfath, the boat will be "a-jumpin'!" I'll be off to the side a bit, sipping on some aged dark rum, mmmmm, yes. Seasick anyone? Not on the Carmen, we're the one makin' the waves! (YEA BABY, very GRRRRRR!)[sorry, had to throw a bit of Austin....Powers, that is]

Cheers,
Ryan

Anyone on the Jingu who was supposed to get out in NY, does the ww site say you have been unloaded? My last update is still"loaded on vessel". I'm just wondering if this is the norm, or if I should be worried about my mini heading down south?

Does anyone know if there is a vantage point to see the cars unload in NYC (NJ)? I drive past there pretty often.

Perhaps I can greet the Carmen and debrief all the little guys about the trip. Maybe someone met Waldo. I can bring some antifreeze and buy everyone a drink! Sounds like a wild crowd!

Katie, I'm hoping that either WW or the VPC knows where your MINI is (gasp!) I have a feeling that keeping track of the little-guys is gonna be difficult from here on to the dealership

oh well, soon.....Motor-On!

How do we check our status...Bill of Landing # or something? What was the code?

On the BOAT! Woohoo! I was supposed to have a relaxing birthday weekend out on the Cape, but I kept having to sign on to check where my baby was.

I feel very bad for any poor MINIs who get seasick out there on that big ol' rough Atlantic ocean.. been there, done that. Maybe I'll dig out some pics of the Atlantic ocean from out in the middle(ish) in a wee little boat (yes, without a seasick me in the pics, I promise).

Katie,

At this point I'm confident that our MINI's are off the boat, since it sailed for SC today. However, I don't believe that anything has been done other than unloading them. Nobody works there on SAT/SUN and therefore the site doesn't get updated either. So all of our ID's still show "LOADED ON VESSEL". Hopefully good things this week. But, based on some of the horror stories I'm not feeling to confident. I think our 3/19 date will be pushed out on Monday or Tuesday 3/?. At this point I'm beyond excited.......I just want the wait to be over so I can move on and MOTOR ON!

Birdie

Not yet........In Canada the MINI's arrive in Halifax I believe. My dealer told me that the MINI is waiting for a train. You put it on the truck........HAHA. Anyway it is still on its way somewhere on a train. Halifax is 3000 miles from me so it could be awhile by train.........should be here this week. Hopefully, but then again with the weather and all the gravel on the roads from the city "Sanding" (more like rocking) the roads I don't mind the wait.

I have been renting a car and had to rent it for 3 months in advance so a little wait is OK, the MINI will just sit in the Garage until the roads look better.

Cheers

Argh.

I'm still sitting on the docks in England. Though I was supposed to be on the Carmen (I wasn't even waitlisted), it would appear that I am going to be on the Fidelio.

Now that a bunch of us are sailing on the Carmen, I have a question for you. Have any of you received anything from MINI-USA or your dealer. Things we have heard about like the unofficial motoring guide, the custom CD or the information to select your custom programing choices? I haven't heard anything. Maybe those were goodies only for the first year and we have to do without?

Ryan, what was your decision on the MA position. I think you'd be great.

Well, hot off the askmini hotline, I'm at the docks but haven't made it to the VPC yet been there since friday. At least there's nice sunny weather for the min to enjoy.
