Things must really be hopping at the factory. Just got a status report. My chili red is at 152 after 8 days stuck at 150. Hope they made a car at 151 for the paint to stick to. Now it's looking more like Ryans really cool website image.

 

Well, I'm at day 2 of status 150. I hope I don't sit there as long as Bbuskas and Asodestrom. The only bit of good news is that the OL now shows I have a VIN number.

 

Kelisa and Zero, you guys have to try entering your vin on the WW site, it should already be able to tell you what ship you are booked on!

The Jingu Maru keeps getting more and more cars added, though I noticed the ones that were added today are wait-listed

That would be COOL to see your MINI unloaded from the ship; you'd also get to see a bunch of fellow MINI's too Hello IT department!

this is kind of an off the wall question, but here goes...

who has been making all the signature graphics on the site that are the cartoon style graphic of the MINIs? they look like they're all the same style for different members, with different colored cars.

examples:
COOPERation, X2Board, minimotorin, ToneyMaguire

Need some advice from my more experienced (150 and higher) CWFAC members.

1-When do I begin calling ASK MINI everyday? I have been waiting a week at time, but I can't take it anymore!

2- In your experience, how far behind is MINIUSA?

3- When do you get a VIN?
Just went to 112.

I can't believe my good luck getting into what is quite obviously a very cool club!
I pass over the Verrazano Bridge every once in a while, so let me know if you want me to peek over at the Martime Terminal to look for your cars. :smile:

Red, great questions! I'll format it the same way you did...

1 - Whenever you feel the urge, although progress though the status numbers won't change drastically until you hit the later stages of 150, most people are at 150 for a few days, as the production facility que's up each group of MINI's to build. When you hit 151, you can call just about everyday!

2 - way behind, generally, don't pay attention to MINIUSA!

3 - You'll get your VIN in the later stages of Status 150, right before you hit 151.

Ditto that, Ryan. Red just asked the same questions that have been buggin' me since I went to 112. MINI USA didn't have the 112...my 'Motoring Assistant' told me of my number. Is anybody else seeing your MINI, in your mind, before you fall asleep, when you awake, when...well s_ _ _, ALL THE DAMNED TIME??????

I got my VIN the day after I went 150 on the 20th. I actually called a.m. 20th and they said still 112. Then I called Fri afternoon 21st and they said I was 150 as of the 20th.

Yesterday a.m. I called and I was still at 150, but today, Friday afternoon I am at 152. I can't figure them out, but I will only call afternoons from now on.

 

i tried sticking in the vin too, to no avail.

is it the last seven digits? or the last seven characters?
i.e. 1344208, or tc44208?

i'd feel kind of dumb if i was doing it wrong...

 

it's the "TC#####". It's wierd, on the Jingu Maru, all the vins starting in TC are grouped together, then it goes into TD and TE and what not. I was curious if all the mini's where the ones with a TC.Then just now I noticed that there were TC's added today which are still grouped at the end of the list near me. Another wierd thing, it says I was booked on the boat on January 10th. Haven't figured that one out yet......
Ok, this all sounds like wierd Robot talk, so I'll leave it at that.

sounds strange indeed Katie! Perhaps MINI reserved the spot on the boat for A MINI to be loaded, not necessariliy your MINI, and as the orders come in and MINI's are built, the reservations get used? It's an idea!
