>>Morgan is moving right a long everybody! she went from 150 yesterday all the way to 152 at the end of today...hopefully she'll catch up to katie and make it onto the boat that is leaving on the march 2nd..
>>
>>she's officially jet black though!!

So I guess you need to call every day as your MINI gets close to production!

Sounds like Morgan is moving right along!

>>Wastik can we get the specs and location on that GTO? You could probably put the MINI and that other girly car in the space it takes up

hmm... lets see if I remember it all, been a while since I've played with the car. It needs a good 3 weeks worth of work to finish it up.

1971 Pontiac GTO. Convertible, 455HO (nastiest engine they offered in 71), Automatic, PW, PS, PB, consol, am/fm, hood tach, ram air, rear spoiler. Blue exterior (originally god awful gold), white top, white interior. Documented by the factory as a 455HO car. Unfortunitaly it's not numbers matching. It is in SoCal now but came from Florida so there was a fair amount of rust to deal with.

For the fun of it, the car everyone wants me to keep,

1994 Mazda Miata. Laguna blue exterior, tan leather interior, tan top. 5spd, PS, PB, PW. Upgraded to MSSS stereo then changed to aftermarket when it gave up the ghost. Flying Miata dual exaust, strut bar brace, and sway bars. 15" rims.

Wastik.. waiting for his MCS in EB (seeing a pattern here?)

Thanks. I just called 1-866-ASK-MINI today and they said my car is on a truck on it's way to Southampton, England. My production date was 28th Feb. It's the only thing in my life which is ahead of schedule, apart from hairloss.

My car details are as follows:
Cooper S
Dark Silver/White roof/Space cloth interior/Alloy patina dash/Panther black door panels
DSC/Cold Weather Package

I Mini is going to live in Long Island. My 99 323i will keep it company at night outside

Hey Wastik, We really want you to keem em both! Maybe you could name them after your wife and christen them with a bottle of California champagne, like they do with a fine yacht.

Jeremypro, I talked to a mini gal and she said it was 2-3 weeks max to ship to west coast, then a week at vdc, then off to the dealer. 6-8 weeks seems like a long time. I think they are trying to be very conservative, then when the cars get here "early" we will all think they are heroes or something.

well, i today i received my Production Number. i'm scheduled for the week of 3/21/03, which will hopefully get my MINI home in late April (or so the dealer says). any opinions on whether or not that's a credible timeframe? (MINI is to be delivered to St. Louis, and then driven home to Denver)

yippee for my MINI!!!

well, here she is:

(not yet named)
MINI Cooper S
Jet Black, Black Top
Sport & Premium, Silver Slites
Mini of St. Louis is the dealer, 'cause my home dealer Schomp in Denver is just too slow.
I'm not really replacing any car, per se, just adding another to the stable.

Forgot some details: My status today was 190.

I purchased the car from Habberstad Mini in Huntington, NY, Feb 3rd, from a salesman called George. Gave me a good test drive (I wish all car salesman would understand the importance of this). I was given an estimate of 6-10 weeks till arrival.

It's not a replacement for any car, just an addition.

asodestrom, thanks for the heads up! 2-3 weeks sounds more like it. I was kinda wondering why it would take 8 weeks for it to reach the west coast. Are they transporting it on some sort of sail ship?!

Oh Ryohile that reminds me, I'm getting clear side markers and front looks bulbs, I forgot that you could do that with the configurator. And I can't believe there's not a single pepper white in our club. Maybe it's just not a spring color?

I think I've figure dout that from the time my production was completed, it will have taken 17 days to get to NY, only 2 weeks since being sent to the docks. Anybody know how long the wait at the VPC is? I guess it differs for everyone right?

All west-coasters. I think the extra shipping time we have will be a real plus to our minis. They will need some time to get acclimatized to warmer weather. Winters in the UK can be quite miserable.. Nothing like a Caribbean cruise and a trip through the canal to get ready for some sunny motoring.

Ryphile-

Not sure if I'm at 193 or 194, but BONZO's off the train and is booked on the Jingu Maru scheduled to leave Southampton on 3/2 and arrive NY/NJ on 3/11. With some luck driving in March may just be a possibility.

I've never named any of my cars, other than their actual nameplate. I always remember the cars' personality though, I think that's much more important than a label of any sort (sniff

Cheers, (tee hee!)

All right!

After a few days in the paint shop (hope that is a good sign that they did it right instead of screwed something up), mine has moved to 153, assembly started.

They say Wednesday cars are better quality.

Hmmm...I called ASKMINI and I'm at 152 still (Have been since Friday)
But they say production should be completed on the 28th, this Friday. It takes from Friday - Wed/Thurs to paint and only a day to assemble? Well, I guess as long as it arrives safe and sound it doesn't matter how they go about it.

Thanks for all the great stats, Ryephile. BTW, I am replacing a 2000 Saturn. And I don't have a name for my mini yet but Im working on it!

Hi!!! I just got an e-mail from my Mini dealer and got a production number. I checked into the mini owners lounge and saw that I am "on order"...this is still exciting since I ordered the car in December.

I finally went to 150 today.
I guess my red mini S is the little red caboose of production week 10 (ending 3/7). At least I'm on the east coast, so my trip across the pond should be a bit shorter.

I think the last week and the next few weeks will be harder than the 6 months I was on the dealer waiting list. Knowing that my car is actually in production makes the delivery date seem so close but yet soooo sloow in coming.
