Here is my first post ever, and my story. I've been monitoring the website for a while now, and took a MC and MCS for a test drive at Thanksgiving (11/02), and I still have a grin on my face from it. The dealer, East Bay Mini in Pleasanton, told me they had a 1 to 2 YEAR waiting list. I got on it anyway. Recently, I have been checking the Niello web site (current inventory and pictures, but a $1000 mark up) and I just can't take it any more. Thursday, 2/13, saw the marketplace post that Mini of St Louis is taking orders for MCS - to be placed on 2-14. I called Friday morning, and got one of their slots . They said that they would be placing the order that day, and I should expect to pick it up the second week of April. So, although I do not have an order number yet, I think I can join the CWFAC!! I ordered a MCS, IB/Black roof/mirrors, lapis, all extras except Nav and Sunroof (#2, #3, stuff in #1 except roof) plus HK. As for a road trip, I get to fly to St Louis to pick her up, then drive home to Northern California (2272 miles per MapQuest). Told my wife it will take me a week - can't stay on the freeway for that long in a MCS, after all. The Cooper will be replacing my 1998 Lexus GS400 - an awesome car, by the way, and selling it will almost pay for the new Cooper

I'm way, way Northern CA - about 4 hours north of Santa Rosa. Up past the emerald triangle, just south of Eureka.

Ferndale - its a cow town, and proud of it.

You are bound to be the first graduate of this club. Congratulations!!! Have you started tracking the Carmen. I know she has carried a few MINI's over here recently.
Maybe a good trivia question for all? How MANY MINI's has your ship carried safely across the pond USA? North America? North and south America??

Gee why could we all just get along??

You will take us all for a ride wont you???

I read somewhere that there are like 650 MINIs on the Carmen.. it's kinda funny to think about... all those MINIs sailing the Atlantic.

The Carmen hasn't been trackable for whatever reason, but it DID safely leave Southampton's port on schedule!

and Suuuuuure, i'll give everyone rides in my MINI.. how bout 5 bucks a person? Gotta make payments somehow!

Hey Phil, I'm still debating taking mine for a drive back or shipping it across the country. I ordered mine from Dreyer in Indianapolis. I want to do the drive, but not sure if I have the time. At least i have a few more months to make up my mind!

Ryan we need to do another totals list, since there is now another velvet red in the club! Beautiful color choice MichaelD!
Also, I think we have our first IB/B if I am correct, a bit of a rareity in it's own right.

Katiedidmini is right on target!

In the past week, we've got 2 Liquid Yellow, both with White roof, another Velvet Red (this time with White roof), and our first Indi Blue with Black roof! It's worth noting that we have only two members with same color roof, wagsFTB (all Pure Silver) and RFath (all Dark Silver).

Everyone’s MINI’s:

DaMatta: MCS, B/W/W, no-junk

Brgmini12723: MCS, BRG/W/W, #1, #2, #3, Nav, H/K, rain-sensing, bonnet stripes

Katiedidmini: MC, VR/B, #1, #2, #3, Xenon, rain-sensing, PDC, H/K
MichaelD: MC, VR/W, anything else?

Rataha: MCS, EB/W/W, Lapis, #2, #3, MFSW, rain-sensing
MINIHOLLAND: MCS, EB/W, Chili, H/K, 17 S-lites

Colinarm: MC, LY/W, Red Kaleido, OBC, SS+, Sport Seats, Fog’s, spoiler
James4513: MCS, LY/W, Space, #1, #2, heated seats, rain-sensing, H/K

WagsFTB: MC, PS/PS, #1, #2, H/K, Xenon, CVT
Scoobs: MCS PS/B, #1, #2, #3, bonnet stripes
Red: MCS PS/B, #1, #3, DSC, Fog’s

JeremyPo: MCS, IB/W, MFSW, OBC, H/K
PJ: MCS, IB/W, Space, #3, MFSW, OBC, Auto A/C, Xenon…
Ryephile: MCS, IB/W/W, Space, #2, #3, MFSW, H/K
Birdie33: MC, IB/W, ‘ette, #2, #3, Nav, H/K
Tboner4me: MCS, IB/B, Lapis, #2, #3, Auto A/C, MFSW, OBC, H/K

Littlecajun: MC, CR/W/W, Red Kaleido, #1, 8-spokes, bonnet stripes
Asodestrom: MC, CR/B, MFSW, sport seats, 16’s w/run-flat, bonnet stripes
Kelisa: MC, CR/W/W, #1, 16’s
Hfranks: MCS, CR/W, Gravity Black, #1, #3, Xenon, Fog’s, DSC, H/K
Jerrygee: MCS, CR/W/W, Gravity Black, #2, #3, Nav, PDC, H/K, MFSW

Bbuskas: MCS, DS/B, Lapis, #1, #2, #3, H/K
Rocketpop: MCS, DS/W/W, #1, #2, H/K, bonnet stripes
SemiImbecile: MCS, DS/W, Lapis, Chili + all but PDC
Rfath: MCS, DS/DS, ‘ette, #1, #2, #3, H/K, rain-sensing
MiniMarc: MCS, DS/W, Gravity, #1, #2, rain-sensing, Nav, H/K

That makes for 8 Coopers, 18 Cooper S
15 Sunroof, 17 Xenon, 15 Harmon/Kardon,
4 Navigation, 6 Rain-sensing,
and LOTS of Motoring upcoming!

1 – Black
1 – British Racing Green

2 – Liquid Yellow
3 – Pure Silver
5 – Indi Blue
5 – Chili Red

greetings everybody!

i get to be in the april club, hurray! I ordered "Morgan" two weeks ago, and she's currently scheduled for production, with a VIN and everything (i want a status number, but it's one in the morning).

Morgan is a jet black MC with a matching roof, sport seats, and panther black leatherette. she's due to be born on 3/7/03. i didnt tack on that many options because my dealer (downtown mini in orlando, fl) requires that i spend $1000 in options with them...i welcome suggestions!

Morgan gets to motor in two cities: daytona beach, where i go to Embry-Riddle, and Naples, where my mommy and daddy take care of me. (i think i'm the youngest of the april bunch- i'm 18, foolish, and prepared for debt!) it'll be worth it though, becuase Morgan is replacing my '95 geo metro.

long post, but i'm new...

Welcome Adam! Thanks for your data, I love new members that have lots of info for me to update

All Hail to our new self-proclaimed "youngin", Zerocharisma is a barely-legal 18!

This brings me to another one of those Daily Questions:
What is your physical [and/or mental] age?

I'll start: I am physically 23, and mentally 35.

Cheers,
Ryan

BTW, why does Downtown MINI require 1k in options? Factory or dealer-installed options? You could smoke this issue by picking up a set of wheels-n-tires from the dealership. Or you could do a CD changer and the dealer-installed Alarm system.
my $0.02

Here's another total I just realized:
18 white roofs
7 black(including Adam, the new 'kid')
2 Silver (1 dark/1pure)

Also, isn't it wierd how there is almost continually a 10 car lead in MCS's?

physically I'm 22(thought I'd be the baby) mentally, my age is boundless(Ha!). I worry like a 45 year-old, but I have the sense of humor of a 10 year-old boy!

Looks like there'll be no new status numbers today. Just called askmini and they're closed, due to this big-*** east coast blizard we're having!

Chronologically 47. Don't know about the mental age, but I think its younger since my first MINI test drive last summer, and while my Chrono age goes up one with a birthday in april, I'm betting the mental age will go down a notch or 2 with delivery of my MC.

I have never named a car even though I usually drive them for 200k + miles before getting rid of them.. How do you come up with a good name?
