>>Excellent color choice, only one thing is making me question your sanity, You are REPLACING a Miata!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't do it. Find a way to keep them both. You will need prozac and yrs of counseling if you get rid of the Miata. They are both small, you can find room. Think about what your doing man get a grip on yourself!!!

As much as I would love to keep the Miata, "She who must be obeyed" has dictated that I can only have 2 cars. So it comes down to the Miata or my '71 Pontiac GTO 455HO Convertible (only 31 built) So the GTO is staying till someone offers me too much money for it.

Give "Her who has to be obeyed" the miata. Then you only have 2 cars, and since you were so kind in the first place she will have to let you "borrow" it on occasion.

HAHAHA

She thinks that the Miata is too small... You can only imagine what she thinks of the MINI. She would never give up her G35 for the Miata. If she had a choice on which stays, I think she would choose the Miata over the GTO. But I've had the GTO longer than the wife so it has senority.

Well if you can have 2 cars so can she!

Give her the Miata, she doesn't have to drive it, she could just look at it. I hear tell it is a cute girly car. You will need prozac and I understand that it can have a negative impact on your labido. Be creative there must be a way

First off, an administrative note to Ryephile. I am at status 112, still showing a 03/07/03 production date.

As for the +10 margin for the Cooper S, I wonder if it has more to do with production/demand than anything else. I would assume there are more Coopers on dealer lots than there are S's. Therefore, most who want the S will have to order and end up in a CWF club. Makes sense to me!

That's a good idea.. although I'm just guessing that most people that are MCO members wouldn't settle for something on the lot, but get exactly what he or she wants and order. I had configured an MC, and wasn't going to sacrifice features/extras just to drive away that day, and I'm just guessing that's the mentality of MCOers. I bet the majority of the "drive-away-today-ers" probably don't even know about MCO, because they don't need the support group in their wait.. they're just content with their dealer-configured MINI.
Plus, a lot of MCOers are into performance mods and/or competition, which would lend them to get faster, meaner MCS'

i swear february's going slower than it ever has before...

This thread is a very small part of the universe that is getting their cars in April. So I guess it can be statistiaclly skewed in colors, options, MCS, MC.

Any math majors out there?

For what it's worth, Niello Mini(mini.niello.com) of Sacramento CA keeps an online inventory list of their cars. As of today, 29 mc 5 speeds, 5 mc auto, 5 mcs 6 speed. 4 of the mcs are sold, 1 mc sold, 3 reserved.

um...rocket science comes with a mathematics minor...does that help?
i figure if mini sold about 25,000 cars in america last year, and only 1000 of the buyers are registered with the owners lounge at miniusa.com, about the same ratio of people would be here at minicooperonline. so, in my quasi-expert opinion, i'd say that we as the april club carry a relatively small standard deviation from the norm, and we should all stop worrying about other peoples cars, and worry about our own. i for one need to figure out where to wash her, because there's no place here at school to do it.

a few more days and Morgan goes to the body shop...has anybody who has been calling ASKMINI talked to the CSR named Jen? she's the nicest person i've ever talked to on the phone, and can only hope you guys have the opportunity to converse with her.

sigh...to the homework...(i can't believe i almost bought a GTI! what was i thinking?)

I think I talked to a Jen this morning.. she was very nice. I LIKE it when they sound like they have a smile on their face.

She insisted that I wanted to know what they had down for my car and walked me through the timing for arrival in the States. Encouraged me to keep calling cause they like that.

Little things make your day better.

My current car is getting jealous. It killed the battery on me on the way to a tutoring appointment!

Yo Zero: you need to hang out in the Single MINI Motorers thread in Off-Topic, you may find yourself a cute piece of trim in there (not talking about the chrome option on the MC either!

Well I was moved up to week 11 (estimated production date March 14) today - hooray!
I called my motoring advisor, and Ask Mini, to try to order the "Chrome Package" which is available in Europe starting week 10. My advisor checked around and could not come up with any info - but if I could find a part number he could order it. Ask Mini said they could not help me with "Euro" packages. I will check with the chaps on MINI2. Not sure if I am sold on the chrome - but the pics look good.

BTW, my MCS is replacing my '89 Pewter Trooper - 285K miles on the original 4 cylinder engine. It was a real "Trooper", paid $13500 for it new.

DAMN - I CAN"T WAIT 'TIL APRIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well since I like beating dead horsies , and Ryan seems to like %ages, in combining what data i could from feb and march with april, things start to even out in that there are approx 40.9% MCs and 59.1% MCS', which is reversed of how MINI wants things to be, the bloody *******...

so anyway, anyone bought aftermarket items yet? I've gotta tva hotpocket, Moss center armrest/console, glove box organizer (tho i rarely use glove boxes and i only own mittens) and clear side repeaters, all waiting for a host to become a part of.

dip trip, flip fantasia

Yea, the bloody *******!

Thanks Ryan for another fascinating percentage

I can't believe you already have aftermarket items

I have a few things I'll get a bit before my car gets here (but only days before, no need to spaz out waaaay before I get it):
EBC Green Stuff brake pads, front and rear, from Tire Rack
Intercooler Grill, from MINI Cooper Parts (looks kick @$$!!!)
OEM clear CHMSL lens only, from Moss MINI
[most likely] Glove Box Organizer from Moss MINI
[also likely] Green air filter from Turner Motorsport

Who else?
Cheers!
Ryan

well i kinda went MINI crazy, which im sure none of you can relate to (pssh!), and got stuff I knew i'd be getting, so they'd be here before my MINI came...none of it's performance mods, which i probably won't ever get. I also bought some other random MINI crap I don't in the slightest need... like my... 2 MINI books, MINI dvd, MINI nikko iRACER (which is pretty cool for about 10 minutes), oh, and my mini crullers from krispy kreme.. MMMMmmm doooonuuuuuuuuts...

damn-this-site-and-it's-sucking-me-in-to-read-every-post-so-i-can't-study-for-my multivariate-stat-exam-monday!

easy there "Wizags", pretty soon you'll have not 47 posts, but 4700 posts!!!

To Motor, you must be disciplined. To be disciplined, you must prioritize. To prioritize, you must suffer being away from all things MINI temporarily. I do it everyday for about 8 hours. Two-thirds of my life includes MINI; I can deal with that.

Cheers,
Ryan

would love to say rocket science so i could be cool like you (might sound srcastic, but it's really not..), but no, i'm just working on my MS in experimental psychology at ODU in VA, then somewhere to get my PhD in social psyc, if i can keep the motivation going...

of course, i might just buy a roof/luggage rack, drop out and motor across the country...
