I've only called twice, but I have a feeling that #'s about to quadrupal, since I'm at 150, and the owners lounge still says I'm only "on order."

>> Question for the morning How often do you call ask MINI

I've only called them once (to see if I was at stage 112 yet. Since my estimate for production is March 7 that means it should be done that week. I'm not sure how long the production process is, but I figure nothing will change until 10 days before my Mini is complete. Since I still have a long wait for crossing the pond, processing, etc., I figure why bother anyone at AskMini. All the same, we have the same production week, if you call and post that your Mini has begun the production process, I'm sure I'll be on the phone within 1 minute.

Everyone have a great Valentines day and long weekend. We're expecting a nasty winter storm in DC this weekend (snow, freezing rain, etc). Here's to looking forward to warm spring (read April) days with a sunroof open, the HK cranked up and motorin' on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia.

So far, I've been calling them each morning since I got upgraded to status 112. But now as I call, they upgraded my status to 150!!!!
Everything looks good I guess for the 2/28 production dates so far. I was getting a little worried after Katie and others were upgraded recently and I was still at a 112. Anyways best of regards for a happy Valentines day today! Lets hope those Mini are soon to roll off the production line and feel the love!

Does anyone know anything about paint treatments? Mini of Concord as a $900 treatment, I have seen other plans as low as $300. Supposedly with 5 year paint and finish guarantees. Can you get them at places other than your dealer?

My personel opinion is they are a rip off. Hand wash and wax with quality products one of the nicest things you can do to preserve your vehicle. Look in the detailing section for lots of good ideas. And never use the same rags on the car that you use on the wheels and tires!!!!!

Well, you got me. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I've been suckered into this cult of lunatics, um, fine upstanding members of the community called MINI owners. Actually, I am a MINI 'waiter'. My Velvet Red/White MINI is officially on order; my birthday's on 3/28, so this is a birthday presnt to myself - Hey, why not? It may be late March/early April delivery. I prefer later - I don't want to drive a new car immediately into the slop and snow!

Need quick advice; a woman friend heard of my future purchase and immediately described it as a "clown car". As I was never quick with the "snappy comebacks", I just shook my head. Guys: give me a REALLY good snappy rejoinder. I'll take any and all suggestions.

My car is also a birthday present to myself. As for a clown car, I'd download and send them the mini movie on the clown in the MCS that gets scared out of his wits. There are all sorts of comments I've received when I tell people what I've ordered. The first reaction is will I fit in it. I'm 6'2" and they seem to think it would be too short. I'll just motor on with the same stupid grin my wife couldn't wipe off my face after I took the test drive.

Ok guys, i finally called and my production number is 112. Rep says i'll probably move to 150 around the 28th. What questions have you guys been asking about your car? The rep didn't really tell me anything, she was waiting for me to ask stuff. I thought she was going to do a run down on my car or something...kinda caught me off guard.

Another VR sweet color, May I be the 1st to welcome you to the club. Response for clown car, Just put on your clown nose muss up your hair and tell them they couldn't possibly understand.

When you call askmini have them verify that you ordered what you really wanted, go over the options (very inportant)

"Clown car"

A Clown? Never having been one myself I'll have to defer to your lengthy personal experience in knowing what clowns like to drive!

Clown Car

Yes I would imagine that after a day of goofing around and silliness, even a clown would look forward to driving home in a serious piece of machinery!

Clown car

After a day of being laughed at and ridiculed every clown deserves the chance to regain some dignity by abusing all of those SUV's on the twisty road home.

Clown car

If even a clown knows what it takes to make a great motorcar, where does that leave you?

With a production date of March 14, 2003 I am hoping to take delivery of my MCS the end of April from Crevier MINI in Santa Ana, CA. I didn’t place my order with them until the end of January, 2003; I guess I’m lucky to be getting my custom ordered MCS with less then a 3 month wait. Christian Banks at Creiver was great to deal with, very professional and efficient.

what's up with the looooooooooooooooooooo...ng waiting periods for people.. like i've seen a lotta people apparently ordering towards the end of last year and not getting their MINIs til march/april/may.. but wouldn't they have ordered 02s? so does that mean they're getting their ordered 02s or are they getting 03? just seems like a looooong time to wait. I have been interested in a MINI since they first hit US markets, but never really thought i would be able to afford a new car, but recently said screw it, might as well go ***** out and get what i want, so i placed my order on super bowl sunday (jan 26th) and tomorrow, well technically today, is Feb 15 (20 days later) and my MINI is setting sail on CARMEN coming over to the states. so basically, in no time at all, i'm getting my MINI. i can't imagine waiting 4+ or whatever months for it. guess i'm lucky. anyway, night.

Yeah, at about 6'3, i've heard the comments about the clown car... everyone thinks they're SOOO original and funny.. i just laugh and say "yeah, and you're ugly"

but i've actually considered getting CLWN CR on my plates... that way and jackass who thinks they're mister funny pants and says that to me would look like the idiot that they are when they see i've beat them to their own punch line... HAHA--take THAT mister funny pants!

I guess it all depends on which dealer, where you are located, and how much your willing to pay over MSRP. I know out WEST the wait is long then the ones on the EAST coast. In my case there was only on dealer in North Texas at the time, so I didn't really have much choice, other then to go out of state or go down to South Texas. Which might as well be out of state. (5 hours away). I could have gotten my MINI by now but my dealer wanted 2k extra to get it earlier. Some are asking even more, in the upwards of 4-5k extra. I payed MSRP, I just have to wait a extra 2-3 months.

Ok - here's my MINI info to add to the list:

Chili Red Cooper with white roof, white 16" wheels, Premium Packg

Called my dealer today to change wheels back to 15" and add heated seats but the good/bad news is it's too late! They said I should have a VIN number next week. I will let you know when I get it!!

Does the mini heat up fast? I hope so! I am sad I can't get the heated seats now with the weather we've been having lately in CT. Cooold!

Who is your dealer and where are you taking delivery? and what is the Expected production date? The days are nearing for all of us. Some of the cars should start on the produciton line any day now!
