We did it! 8000 page views! I guess I way underestimated how may hits we'd have in the second half of the month. I should have upped the ante even higher for the February Club. Think we can make it to 10,000?

 

Woohoo! Just noticed that last post was #199 for me, so of course I just had to make #200 right away. And the obvious choice for where to post it? The January Club!

 

Whats up everyone. I'm having a little problem here. There was a problem with the leasing application and I was denied . The dealer called me on thursday and we figured out the problem and He resummited it and said it takes a couple of hours to get a response. He said he would call me back . It has been 2 days and I called a couple of times and he has not returned my calls. I called askmini and they said my car left on a truck to the dealer yesterday and they should get it yesterday or today. I know i got accepted because my credit is good. What going on here. Not to happy about this. I was going to rate them good but I might be having second thoughts

 

jd, how far are you from the dealer? This might warrant a trip to talk to them in person. That is just plain crummy customer service if they don't have the decency to give you a call back, especially about something that's got you on pins and needles!

 

JD, I agree with Barky, GET IN TO THE DEALER ASAP. Who is the dealer in NJ ??

Barky, I've seen posts lately from guys who are ordering cars in December and supposed to be taking delivery in March. WOW, that's quick or were they "ordered" in July/August and the dealer order went in December. Any clue ??

My guess is that they are referring to a December order/January build. I've definitely seen inconsistency in what people refer to as their order date. Some seem to equate it with the date they placed their deposit, others with the date the dealer placed the order with the factory.

I consider my order date to be in November, even though I placed my deposit back in February and gave the dealer my specs a short time later.

By the way, my dealer is Patrick MINI in Schaumburg, IL.

I agree on the inconsistancy, I placed my order end of June. Dealer placed the "actual" order with MINI on November 13th for a December 20th build date.
I thought 7 months was a long wait, but your's has been much longer.

 

When I placed my deposit the dealer told me it would probably be a year wait. Ordering the HK system is probably the biggest reason it's taken so long.

 

I placed my deposit on November 22, 2002. My MCS is at the VPC in Charleston as of January 15, 2003 - less than two months from "order". I consider order the date I gave my money and my specs to the dealer.

I ordered in October, and had a Dec 3 build date due to the HK stereo. I was told that if I had not wanted the HK, I could have had a november build.

Drove by the dealer a few times today to see if they received a delivery of Minis. My wife and I were calling ourselves "Mini Dealer Stalkers"!

I talked to my dealer yesterday and my Mini is there! They are going to put in the factory alarm. I am going to be picking it up either Thursday or Friday depending on the weather. My daughter is begging me to take a day off from school and go with me to pick up the car. There maybe a squeeze at the club door as many of us are leaving next week. Woo-hoo!

Status on "Hilfe"....web site shows me on the boat....askmini shows me at the VDC, as of the 16th. No work order yet. Mustabin a lot of cars on the Takamine for such long delays. Hopeful as ever though. Glad to see our brothers and sisters getting on the road.

Also talked to my dealer about the aux in jack in the HK radio. Yes they heard the rumor...RUMOR, suggested they check a little further with the service techs, one of the other MCO threads noted a reply from askmini, that the jack was "behind" the radio face"....where do you suppose that is? No one yet has found it on the 2003 model radios.

I have a $59 memorex CD/MP3 player with a 4.5v, cig lighter transformer waiting just the jack location. I've also emailed askmini for a more detailed response. Will advise when I get the reply.

Glad to hear you made it to the VPC. I bet you will be out on on Monday.
It is really interesting watching the slow updates on the owners lounge. Mine is due to be trucked to the dealer 2 hours away from the VPC on the 22 according to MINIUSA, but no update in the owners lounge with an Estimated Delivery Date. I wonder if the dealers are supplying an EDD?

HBH170. Great to hear your dealer has your mini. Where are you at? I spoke to my dealer about the Alarm here in California and they don't have any information on the system yet.

ok got the car in january club. first sweetheart, sister, dad, mom, nefphew, neice, brothers five now im back in the good graces of the family. they love the car as much as i do. the wait is woooooorth iiiiitt.!!!!!!!!! almost 1000miles. soon the breakin mileage will be off the car and i can get out of second gear. mcs brg checkered top.

jbs111- My dealer said that they just got the factory alarms in. My dealer is Westchester Mini which I am told is owned by BMW. They are charging me $695. for the alarm.
