My dealer said 5 days after it gets to the center, he'll get it. I hope I don't have to wait until the 25th. At least I'm checked into the VPC.

Yippee! We made it to 7000! I knew we could do it! If we hit 8000, does that mean we get to up the February Club goal from 8000 to 9000? I bet it felt like you were trying to get photos of alien spacecraft at Area 51!

I called ASK MINI again today, and Jen reconfirmed that Agent Cooper is on the truck somewhere between Bayonne and Chicago. I've e-mailed my Motoring Advisor to see if he can pinpoint an actual delivery date (I'm hoping for Saturday).

Uplifting thought for the day:

Tomorrow we mark the half-way point for the month. A number of our members have taken delivery and are happily motoring in their shiny new MINIs. To them, we offer our congratulations!

Those of us who have not yet taken delivery can take solace in the knowledge that there are only about two more weeks to go in January. Within those two weeks, all of us will be celebrating our very own "Happy MINI Day" and exclaiming those words immortalized by Grand Poobah Rygold, "I'm outta here!"

Hang in there fellow clubbers...our time will soon be here!

OK Clubbers....I just issued our challenge to the February Club: if we get 8000 page views by Jan. 31, their goal increases to 9000. Will they accept?

Wow, MINIacs are sooooo competitive!

Actually, the immortal words are:

"I'm Outa This Stinkin' Club"!

Yell it proudly when it's yours to yell.

HI Barky
It is great to know Agent Cooper is trucking along towards the midwest. Indeed, we are all getting close. Soon, very soon, we will all be motoring. If we keep the club "views" up a the current rate, we could hit 9,000 views by the 31st! Are the February clubbers up to the challenge?

Peter
Great Pics! You indeed are one brave soul. It is quite interesting that the vehicles have to be trucked to the VPC. I thought the VPC was there at the port.

Have a great day everyone!!
JB

They drive the cars from the ship, through the city streets about 5 blocks. The trucks are to take them out to the dealers. I saw convoys of BMW 745's, Jaguars, Rovers, even Mitsubishi and Suzuki.

ASK MINI tells me my MCS was off-loaded from the Faust and work order at the VPC in Charleston was printed on Jan 14.

Anybody else out there has a MINI bound for Moritz this month?

Can't sleep; gotta motor.

Mine is on the Figaro which docked today. Moritz doesn't have their Texas license yet and they will not be able to deliver any Mini's until they receive it! Keep you fingers crossed.

Hi JB, Barky & gang!

Good news Barky re: keep on trucking to the Windy City.

JB...as of this evening, no status update, askmini still shows me at the port. How ab out your status, same or did you get an good update? When I saw the port pictures, I didn't any mini's, seems they were hidden somewhere else, looked like some Beamers under car covers though.

Does not look like this weekend...darn!

Hi Miniron
I called about 4:00 again today. I am still at the port as well according to MiniUSA. (I do have to admit that I feel better knowing someone else is still showing at the port) Now, the CR Rep did say that it could be the vehicle is at the VPC, as they sometimes get backed up with updating when a large shipment is received.

I enlarged one of the pics, and changed the contrast and did see one cooper in the background.

One of these days... very soon!! I think this last part is the longest part of the wait. Gotta stop this anticipation.
JB

My MINI sat in England for 26 days waiting for a boat. Now the boat is taking for ever.

I ordered in July 2002, built in December and shipped in January.

Hello MissMe
It seems that the cars are taking a bit of time to make it to the VPC these days. That is where mine is stuck as well. Others, like Mini-Rolls have had other delays.

No matter how hard the wait, and boy it is hard especially when you are a person like me who wants everything NOW, it sounds like the car is worth every moment and every ounce of agony in the wait.

The January clubbers will all be motoring soon!

JB

PROGRESS!!
I just got off the phone with ask mini (6:37 PST) and my mini made it to the VPC in Port Hueneme the 15th (yesterday) and is currently waiting to have the work order printed. I was told that in 3-5 days it should be released for transport to the dealer.

Looks like things are now moving along again. Hope others waiting to for their Mini to enter the Port Hueneme VPC got there yesterday too!

JB

Hi guys!
Well if there are any of you out there waiting for a MINI in southern Germany, I saw 3 yes THREE trucks full on their way south yesterday afternoon. It was pretty cool, esp after I'd been complaining to my husband that I never see any. I saw two on the A8 and one on the A5 at the Hockenheim reststop. One of the trucks had what looked to be a gold MINI on the back. Could have been a dirty yellow one though .
According to my dealer, my car was in 182 status last week. He said that the car is probably awaiting a ship, but I was under the impression that they are trucked to Germany? Oh well.. hopefully I'll take delievery next week or the week after at the VERY latest!
Have a great day!

To see Port Hueneme pics, go to the Gallery, go to page 2. Click on Member Minis, then go to page 127. They are pictures 1139 to 1143.

I got the call yesterday from the dealer. I'm oooooouuuuuuuttttttaaaa heeeeereeee!!!

FYI.. The TAKAMINE pulled up to the port on the 9th. The cars were unloaded on the 10th. The official check in at the VPC was on the 13th. The dealer called me on the 15th. I'll be picking it up shortly.
