I am booked onto the Takamine also. Interesting that it arrives in So Cal before the Terrier, so I can't complain of being early by a few days. Now to find a picture, I will not stick pins in it to hasten it's arrival.

 

are you sure it is the takamine? I found this pic of a boat name takamine maru:



but she's a tanker, not a cargo ship. Unless they hosed out the tank and refitted...either that, or your MINI's are coming over in a big guitar case...

The Takamine is correct. The Takamine Maru looks like a container ship, rather than a car carrier. Might not be the correct pic. Ok, everybody on the Takamine... let's find a pic of the car carrier Takamine

today on the mc website it says i should be driving my mini. no such luck it is still in vpc and has been there since dec 1 hope they didnt roll it. by the way those of you that are looking for a mini right now i just went to long beach mini and they received 33 mini's on sat and they still have 19 left without owners the salesman told me. they are very nice there and it looked like they were having a ralley with so many mini's there. every color all different options. they said they got them from all over the country where they were't selling. they sell for msrp. so instant mini's if you need a fix. hope this helps some of you that can't wait. tell them you saw it here in the january club. jb

too bad about the VPC. I sure hope mine makes it through quicker. Heck, I am just waiting to leave england!! First on the Tricolor, then the Terrier, now hopefully the Takamine!
the only thing I have seen about Long Beach is they tack on a 950.00 transportation charge to get the cars from the other dealerships. It is fair I guess, but does make the charge above MSRP. Irvine does the same for the cars they purchase from other dealerships.

I just learned that my Mini arrived in Southampton on 12/17 and is booked on the DonJuan which sails this Sunday, 12/22. Christmas will be at sea. May it receive the gift of smooth seas! Good things come to those who wait!

 

Takamine Arrives in Southhampton!

Well, looks like things are on track with the Takamine. It arrived in port a day early and has Minis loaded on it already, including mine. So it looks like thos of us who were on the Tricolor then the Terrier and now the Takamine are on track for the party to California!

My MINI got to the port on the 9th so I am hoping it is loaded soon.....

geeeez.....all the MINI's around mine are being loaded and I am still waiting. God this is nerve racking, not mention I am driving my wife nuts.....she has to listen to me.......I want my MINI to be "LOADED", so I can get "LOADED"..... :evil:

 

I agree Rolls. Mine is still waiting. But it down't sail until tomorrow, so last on, first off?

 

looks like 244 minis have been loaded (39% of the 632 booked). It is interesting as it looks like they loaded from 7am to 12 Noon. Could be they do a refresh of their system every 12 hours and there is not another update.

Well, things have moved quite quickly for our MCS. Our production date was 12/20 but I found out today our car is 'on the train' (190). The 'ask Mini' folks said they won't have any more info about the shipping schedule until the car is actually on a boat. So it is up to me to determine what boat it will be on. What advice do you have for me JB??

Go to this site and select track auto. Put in the last 7 of your VIN (TD12345) and you will find your boat.

The car is wait listed on the Don Juan which is sailing in two days??
Any idea on how this wait list process works? I can't imagine our car would be high on the list simply because we just left the factory??

It may stay waitlisted or as the ship date gets closer it may come off the waitlist. You can now enjoy the fun part of wondering when will the freaking shipper put my MINI the boat. And on the day of the loading you will doing like we are today. checking, checking and rechecking to see if you are loaded yet.

Also, when you are on the tracking page you can take the booking number and search by the booking number to see how many other MINI's are scheduled to sail with your MINI. If your get really bored you also count the number of cars in each group. The break down is as follows; TC - Cooper - Manual, TD - Cooper 'S', TE - Cooper - CVT. Really a great way to get your nerves racked up. Like JBS111 said and I said it is worse that waiting for a baby to be born.

Your tracking fun has just begun. You may make the DONJUAN in two days, cross your fingers.....
