Barky,

You haven't kept up with the times. Cheese and wine works better than cookies and milk.

THANKS for the tip on cargo tracking. My Vin # is not tracking, so I may not be on it, but I will keep checking every 6 hours or so.

Hi MiniRon
I am in Southern California (orange county area). Keep your fingers crossed about the boat. Mine showed up on the cargo tracking about a day or so after completion.
I am going to call MINI later this week to see if thing are going as I think (HOPE) they should.

Thanks for the cool link about the Canal! As I track the ship, I will have to check this out. (now my wife will KNOW I am really over the top with this obsession)

Hi 1st Gear:

My status changed this a.m. to 160. " Released for Distribution"....hope that means it is on the train for the port in the next day or so. I see the POE is Port Huem?????, for So Cal, wonder if it is for all SoCal and NorCal too...will figure that out when one of the cool Club members shares that item.

seems all west coast cars come in through near LA, then get shipped by truck to the dealers.

ours had the same port listing and we are in seattle.

Hi MiniRon
Port Hueneme is just north of LA. I spoke with my dealer today, and he said I can look at about two weeks once received at the port to the dealer in Irvine.
Mine took about 4 days to move from status 160 to 193.
I called today and am at status 193, mini received at port awaiting ship assignment. Funny though, when I put my VIN number to the cargo tracking, it shows my mini is assigned to the Tricolor. Mini suggested I call back Friday for a furter update.

On Friday I called ASK MINI and checked on the status of my baby, even though she really wasn't supposed to start production until this week. As I expected, she was still in status 150 (scheduled for production). I called again this morning, hoping she would be in status 151 (body shop) or perhaps even 152 (paint shop). Lo and behold, I was told she was in status 155 (production completed)!

Hi jbs111.

Good show, maybe the tricolor references the French Flag....I am now status 182, boarding the train to a Port somewhere in England thanks for spelling of port Hueneme. Keep us posted, hoping the 14 is for all of us.

Hi miniRon

So far, there are 453 relatives trying to clamor on board the TriColor. They are:
Cooper Manual Trans 102
Cooper Auto Trans 154
Cooper S 197

Unfortunatly, many of us are on a wait list. The best I can figure is they are trying to get all the paperwork together and schedule the cargo(hope that is is anyway). There are 3 relatives that are being returned to the shipper for some reason...boo hooo. The stats for that is:
OK 203
Waitlist 247
Returned 3

We will see as the week progresses. I am going to call ASK MINI on friday for an update. I will let you know!

Thanks for the updates! We appreciate it!

Well, I'm heading off on a business trip in the morning and will be away from the January Club until sometime Saturday afternoon. Keep each other company and, above all else, have fun! I'll catch up with you on the flip side.

Hi MiniRon
Actually I am in After Sales Service. Sometimes feels like intel trying to figure out what customers want!!

I take my vin number and plug it into the tracking system on the cargo site. Then I take the booking number and pull up all the vehicles booked, copy the info and do some filters in excel, VOILA in about 10 minutes we have a summary.

I called ASK Mini today... mine is still awaiting official assignment to a ship. It should be very interesting if the booking on the Tricolor will truely be the ship my mini cruises on over. I am going to call again late friday and should have an update posted Saturday morning.

Hi JBS111:

News, good I hope....I have a booking #, on the Tricolor voyage ED249-TRI. to Port Hueneme. The MCS was rec'd at terminal 11/12/02, booked on 11/29/02. This was about the time I went from 150 status to 155. Looks like they book a spot on the ship as soon as you get a production date, i.e, mine was the 49th Week of 02, which was week ending 12/6/02.

Sound about right to you?

I was too cool, getting onto the Wallenius Wilhelmsen web site, entering the last 7 of the VIN and up pops up the booking number etc.

15,543 tons
5830 # of cars capacity

Arr Southhampton 12/14/02, leave same day
Arr Baltimore MD 12/24/02, leave same day
Arr Brunswick, GA 12/27/02 leave same day

Hi MiniRon
The cargo site is indeed great!! I am actually making screen prints for a little Mini Diary if you will of the ships status. Ok, so am I just a little bit obsessed?

I checked this morning and there are now 553 of us trying to board, but wait... what do I see..... There is no longer anyone on the wait list!!! but sadly, there are 3 that are being returned to the shipper (of course I don't know if that means the shipper was the dealer who returned the vehicle to the factory for some reason)

I haven't done a breakdown of vehicles yet, but that will follow.

I have been in After Sales service now for 19 years. I am either stupid or just plain crazy. You are right, I can be very determined, especially when I want something (like the Mini!)
