Hi Jb
We in the UK don't seem to get as much info on when the ordered car goes into various stages. Mine has been on order since February of last year but i elected for january delivery as i wanted to finish paying for the old golf gti first.

Anyway champing at the bit for the new year

I was reluctant to join a can't wait club, but now I've learned the production number for my Chili Red MCS. Production is estimated Dec. 16, with delivery to Moritz Mini in Arlington, TX second week of January!

Can't wait. Gotsta motor!

Looks like the word is starting to get out about the fantastic food and drinks on the cruise to the States. More minis have joind in. The tricolor cargo status report for the day is:

OK-575
Waitlist-5
Returned to Shipper-3
Export Unit On Hold-1
Total-584

Cooper - Manual Trans-141
Cooper Auto Trans-205

We should see some statuses change tomorow as the ship is supposed to depart Southhampton sometime the 14th.

Hello Santa:

My MCS is also going to be born today, 12/13/02. Hope the workers are not superstitious. I hope the delivery went well. I am exhausted and excited thinking about it. I don't really care abouut Christmas this year, just bring me January!

Rick,
I'm in Arlington also. When did Moritz start taking orders? Seems like you are getting yours built pretty quick! I ordered mine from J Roberts the first of Oct. build date 12/20 (actually in the paint shop today!)

Just called ASKMINI and I am still in status 153, waiting for assignment to a ship.

However, the cargo tracking site shows assignment to the Tricolor. Looks like we will know more tomorrow.

I do know the Tricolor has left Belgium and is on the way to Southhampton!!

Hey Rick. I don't want to put a damper on the good news but that delivery schedule seems a tad optimistic. Our build date is 12/20 and we are not expecting delivery to dealer (Milwaukee) until late January.

Waiting. Waiting. Waiting.

HI JBS111 and all.

Status 193....I've been there for a few days too. Ask Mini line stated I knew more than they did inasmuch they have to wait for Wallenius Wilhelmsen to tell MINI we all were loaded and on our merry way, partying all the way So Cal.
Be interesting to see if the shipping web site tell us more. BTW, my cargo ID is TD62813 if you get a leg up on all of us.

My earlier comment about the Titantic vis a vis the Tricolor, was too close to the mark...I apologize. So much for January delivery, glad the crew is safe, glad my MCS is still in Southhampton sitting in the Fog, both of us are depressed. Cheer up, it can't get much worse. :???:

It looks like my MCS is on the same boat. I am in the same December-January Cusp Club! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can pick up the car on my birthday, Dec 30th, but that might be wishful thinking, with the ship arriving at port on the 18th of Dec.

It is really too bad about the Tricolor. The positive is that no one was hurt.... and there were no Minis on board.
We will all have to be patient and see what happens. The next ship to California is the 18th and then another a few days later.
At least we do not have to wait for our cars to be built again! Our wait for te ride over continues... and we were soooooo close

Just checked the shipping site. they have the cargo portions down. I sure can understand why. I can only imagine how the people in the company must be feeling right now.:???:

Will check later on tonight and tomorrow to see if there are any reassignment updates .

I just checked the shipping site. Best I can figure right now is that it looks like they have rearranged some shipping schedules on the Takamine (adding a New York stop) and Terrier. Us Californians will be delayed about 3 days.

Kinda sad though, they still show our minis aboard the Tricolor and that it sailed out of southhampton.

We will see how things really progress

Thanks, JB, for keeping us all up to date on the situation with the Tricolor. That is good news they are taking such swift action on reallocating their ships and the delay could just be a matter of a few days.

Late this week my status changed to 160 and I was thinking I might be on the Tricolor or Falstaff, but the WW tracking site was updated this afternoon and I now see I'm scheduled to be on the Hual Triton departing on 12/17. I've tried a number of ship photo web sites and can't seem to find a picture of this ship (not even on the Hual site). Does anyone have a picture?

I visited my dealer today just to get my MINI fix and got a snowglobe.

Looks like we've had a couple more members join the January Club while I was away for a few days. Welcome to the Clubhouse! The doors are open all the time and you'll always find a comfy chair just waiting for you.

Hi Barky
Glad to see you made it back from Seattle. Hope you didn't drink too much coffee!!
I have tried the same in trying to find ship pictures, but have had no luck as well. Occaisinally, I have seen some pics posted here, but can't find those either.

Somewhere, in one of the MCO threads somebody posted a link to a shipping site that had EVERY ship on the ocean, sorted alphabetically. Find that link and you'll find your boat.

And barky, the "comfy chairs" in the Clubhouse are MINI Sport Seats. Some of us think they're somewhat "less" than comfy! At least for the first 2000 miles or so!

Hi rygold,

Thanks for the suggestion. I think this might be the link you're referring to:

Ship Photos

I picked this one up from an earlier thread, but the Hual Triton is not listed. There are 3 other ships with Triton in the name, but none of them appear to be auto carriers.

I'll continue to search (both here and elsewhere) and hopefully will find something.

Regarding those sport seats, maybe we need some of those beaded seat covers?!

Thanks for posting the links to the ship pictures. I found the Aida on there. I need to keep this to myself though, if I tell my friends I have a picture of the ship my MINI is on, they'll think I am obsessed. Actually, they already think that. Oh well

In my previous post I stated that none of the 3 Tritons listed on the ship photos site seemed to be auto carriers. I just remembered that one of them IS an auto carrier (sorry - I actually looked at the picture before posting my message, but it slipped my mind ops: ).

I think I dismissed it because the name is Triton Diamond and it says "Panama" on the rear of the boat. The Hual Triton sails under the Bahamian flag. In addition, the Triton Diamond has a gross tonnage of 51819, but the Hual Triton (as listed on the coast guard site at

Hual Triton Vessel Info )

has a gross tonnage of 52422.

I think these are 2 different ships. The search continues!
