Good Saturday Morning
The Taka"mini" is still shows in port. of the 685 Minis booked, it looks like those received before the 19th appear to be loaded. The waitlist is primarily seems to be for the later arrivals! (I guess being fashionably late to a sailing is not good)

Looks like the cruise to California is about to begin. I sure hope my Mini does not get sea sick. I forgot to send the dramamine over.

Well, as I was getting the stats for the day, the shipping site changed the Takamines status to Sailed from Southhamton! Here we go!!
The stats as of 8:16 am Saturday are:

Received At Terminal= 42
Waitlist=58
Loaded=585
Total=685

Cooper - Manual Trans=177
Cooper Auto Trans=213
Cooper S=295
Total=685

These stats could change as they probably have some updating left to do.

Not all the MINI's received prior to the 19th are loaded. MY MINI and one other one got there on the 9th and they still show as Received and not loaded. They have been loading MINI's that got there today. I am pissed. If I am not loaded I will have to wait until until the 29th. If that is true I will be finding someone to call even if I have to call the shipping line in England myself. This totally unfair. The two MINI's that got there on the 9th seem to just sitting in a corner.

Hi Minirolls
Could be they have not updated the cargo site yet. I noticed yesterday, it looked like the site changed about each 4 hours for the cargo list.

Thanks, I understand their update process. But it is really frustrating since I ordered my MINI back in July and have gotten this close. IF it is just an update error I am fine with that as long as I am onboard. If I get pushed to the next then I am going to hit the ceiling. The shipping line should have taken all the MINI's that were scheduled for the "SUNKEN TRICOLOR" and loaded them first. No MINI produced after the 18th should have been loaded until all the TRICOLOR MINI's were loaded. This was the sailing date of the TRICOLOR.

I know I am venting but this sucks.......

HI JB!

Now all we have to do is check for disasters at sea every hour.......it's something to do with all our energy for a while.
Wish I were on the ship partying with the gang though!

Am I to assume that I won't know if our waitlist status on the Don Juan changes until the ship sails?? Do they update the registry frequently enough to let me know if our status changes prior to leaving port? Thanks in advance.

Sorry about your plight mini-rolls. I feel for you and agree that your car (and all the other tricolorites) should have had priority. From what I've heard, they don't lose track of these cars and there might be a (bad) reason why yours hasn't loaded yet. Maybe a ding or a dent or something. Although with the sinking of the Tricolor, maybe you have been lost in the chaos. Hang in there.

Well I just went through the whole booking listhere is what I found.

MINI's remaining on TAKAMINE Booking list

Booked and not showing loaded

Cooper - Auto Trans - 9
Cooper - Man Trans - 11
Cooper "S" - 18
Total booked that do show loaded as of 11:15 PST - 38 WHY????????

WaitListed

Cooper - Auto Trans - 7
Cooper - Man Trans - 11
Cooper "S" - 43

Also found out the 2 Cooper's with Auto Trans and 1 with Man Trans were received at the port on 12/9/02 @ 07:26. One of these is mine and none of the three have been loaded. I find this very discomforting. Do they damage this many cars each time they load them?

Hi Hazzard
In watching the ship cargo information over the past week, their site updates every few hours. the status does not seem to change until the vehicle is loaded. Many times the schedules of the boats arrive and depart on the same day, so the status of the vehicles don't change until the boat leaves. The Takamine arrived in port a day early, so we were able to see some progress. Alot of this is just guesses from what I have noticed.

Boy, Minirolls, I wonder what happened? There was one fellow on the Jingu Maru who was posting a couple of weeks ago. His status was received like yours and he too was worried about not making the boat. If I remember right, after all was , but after all was checked out he really did make the boat.

Sure wish we had something concrete to go on base on factual information from the shipper. I guess we all are not really supposed to even know how to track our Minis, soo..

Well I just wish I knew also. The site has not changed since noon (PST). It is now 4pm PST and the only good thought I have is that I still show booked on the TAKAMINE and it has moved to another boat. I will just keep checking and praying that my MINI is floating on the TAKAMINE with all it's brothers and sisters.

Hi guys.

My Mini also looks like it didn't get loaded on the Takamine. So sad. I wonder when we'll know for sure what happened.

Hi ChiliLover and Minirolls
I checked the booking number and interestingly, no cars have been moved off the group. When the Terrier set sail, and we were left behind, our vehicles were quickly moved to a different ship. I wonder if that means that all those listed really made the ship and there are other administrative issues at hand. all guesses and conjecture though.

I checked the owner lounge for my Mini and it still shows awaiting transport. One person had said in another thread that it takes about a week for the owners lounge to show the mini enjoying the high seas.

Too bad there was not a guide or a FAQ on the shipping site!!

So is there anyone out there whose baby is on the Maersk Wind besides me? I'm pretty sure I saw ithe ship go through the Miraflores locks on Friday and was that a MINI wave I saw from the port hole?

I don't know who named this particular ship, but Wind probably isn't the right one. She is now 4 days behind the original sailing schedule, having lost 2 crossing the Atlantic and 2 more after leaving her final East Coast stop on the way to the Canal. Scheduled arrival in California is now 12/26.

It's hard being patient..............

mininut...the trip from Southhamton to California is very long. The trianon left with my MINI on board on 11-21 and didn't get to port Hueneme until 12-17. from the Panama to port Hueneme took 11 days. it's a long trip and I'm still waiting

Hi DB
You are getting close!! 12-17 arrival in port, maybe you will have a New Years eve present?

Have you been able to track the Trianon?
I have tried plugging in the Takamines call sign (LACT5) and no records. Were you able to track from a certain point on, or from the get go?
thanks
JB

Yea, I should be taking delivery this week according to my dealer!

I wasn't able to track the Trianon after she left port in GA. by following the WW site, I was able to at least know when she got to the west coast, but that's about it. I was just kind of guessing at her actual location as she crept up the coast, figuring a speed of about 10-15 knots/MPH.

All right, I'm officially depressed. It seems the Don Juan left without our car. Is it possible that it has been loaded and the system wouldn't reflect that fact? Or is the system pretty much up-to-date at departure?? Any thoughts on this? Seems we will have to wait for the 12/30 sailing of the Jingu Maru or the 12/31 sailing of the Figaro.
I think it might be best for me to just unplug from all this minimania for 30 days and then see where our car is toward the end of January.

I am excited to see that my Mini made it on to the Don Juan. I looks like it was one of the last ones. My mini arrived in Southampton on 12/16/02. I don't think that any Minis that were wait listed for the Don Juan and arrived in Southampton after 12/16 made it on to the boat. Interestingly the Owners Lounge says that my car is still "scheduled for production." They must be holiday partying this weekend and not updating the web site. Happy Holiday to you all, the end is almost in sight.

Well, I have been WAITLISTED for the HERCULES LEADER now leaving on the 29th. I am starting my calls today. I am going to ***** at everyone. Being booked and not loaded when waitlisted MINI's got on the boat sucks. They are going to get an earful.

I am no longer a member of the January Club since this boat does not arrive until the 22nd of JAN. :evil:

Well it seems that nobady cars that my MINI is sitting in Southampton. My sales manager told me that maybe I should not be tracking it. He also said I know more than him. With that comment I have now cancelled my order....they can keep the car. I love the look and feel of the MINI, I am not happy with the support received to date. The dealer left off an option and they are not trying find out what is going on. With being 'waitlisted' for delivery on the 29th I feel it will not make it, again. The next shipment after that is the 9th of JAN. I have waited long enough and if I keep this up I will most likely have a heart attack. It is not worth the trouble and stress. Have fun, I wish I could. The only chance of change is if the sales manager makes a 180 swing and starts helping.

Hi Mini-rolls

Yours is certainly a frustrating situation. I would be frustrated too.

All of us here have continue to have access to more “back door” information that the “official” contacts do not have . Those before us had less, while those after us will probably have even more. As systems become better, the information available to us through Mini directly, the owners lounge and our dealers will become more up to date. It certainly is a growing process for the manufacturer, shipper, Mini corporate and each individual dealer.

Each of our experiences is different, as well as our expectations. I certainly would be disappointed if my Mini had not made the Takamine (just ask my wife how obsessed I am about this car).

Yes the dealer has let you down by not offering any more assistance. Playing devils advocate, maybe he is as frustrated as you given you have more information than he has or is allowed to access to.

You have endured the longest part of your wait. Why quit now when you are so close?
JB.

Does anyone know if "received at the terminal" means
"the port for shipping" or does it mean something else ?

Got my VIN, does this mean it's completed? ( I hope )

Can't wait in PA.

Supposed to sail on the Jingu Maru 12/27/02 if
I'm reading all this stuff correctly.
