Hi Miniron
Wow, sounds like a blessing in disguise our Minis did not get loaded on the Tricolor. It is interesting that such a ship with such troubles is allowed to continue running.

I contacted the shipping company to get pics of the Takamine. the gentleman I was dealing with was surprised to find the Takamine is one of the least photographed photos in their Fleet!! he sent a couple of pics that showed only the rear end of the ship with some huge equipment being loaded. But... he did send a drawing pic that does show the ship:

the Takamine should be a little over half way. I wonder how close to the Canal she is? I keep trying to track her with the call sign LACT5, but no luck yet.

my girl was unloaded from the Hual Triton in Bayonne on December 26 and as of Tuesday hadn't made it to the VPC yet - my estimated delivery date is still 12/31/02! I ordered mine from Prestige in Mahwah - so I don't know what that means for the waiting time for you guys - - hope your wait isn't as long as mine....

Hi Hazzard,

Yeh, but my kids are old enough to drive it. I'll have to fight them for the keys.

Indi Blue MCS, Packages #1-#3, lapis blue leather, NAV, driving lights, fogs, etc.

Let's keep in touch. JF

I can't take it anymore!

Scheduled production was 12/13
Went out on falstaff 12/15
Scheduled to arrive in SC 12/26
OL still shows "en route", vessel still shows "loaded on vessel"
Estimated delivery date is 1/2/03!

Where is my car??

My dealer knows nothing.

Luckily I was able to call ASKmini and assured me my mini arrived at the VDC 12/30.

The updates on OL is torture bc the status doesn't update accurately.

When will my estimated delivery date be updated?

BrunoV and Richard, congratulations on your deliveries!

Wow, it's like the flood gates have opened....seems like a lot of January Club cars are getting close to delivery.

MiniJ and Sobelmini, I am in the same boat as you (pun intended!). My MINI was scheduled to get off the Hual Triton on 12/26 in NY/NJ, yet the OL and shipping site have not been updated. The OL lists an estimated delivery of 1/6 and, up until yesterday, ASKMINI was telling me everything was on schedule. Now they are saying that it will not likely be at the dealer on 1/6 and they can't give me any more specific info. No one seems to know where our cars are! It seems the OL gets updated on Saturday nights between 10 PM and midnight (Central time), so I've got my fingers crossed I'll see a change tomorrow night.

I called askmini today - they said a lot of cars are in, but there is a backlog in getting them to the VDC. They thought by early next week all the cars from the Hual Triton will be there....I go back to work on the 13th, I hope my girl comes in so I can take her around before then...

Here's hoping!

Thanks for the great info, sobelmini. That is definitely good news. I was starting to worry that something dreadful had happened to the entire shipment and ASKMINI wasn't willing to own up to it. I had visions of either another ship sinking or a multiple car jacking!

Wow, there are so many January clubbers that are very close. Looks like a good many will have their mini's next week. That is fantastic!!

Don't forget about us late January clubbers and let us know your experiences about dealer delivery, what to look for and most of all, just how fun the first few minutes of motoring is.

Outstanding cuny! SoCal needs another BRG MCS!

have a safe trip, and enjoy it! Stop in Gilroy for me and take a deep breath ( I love the smell of garlic!).

Also, don't forget, that as you depart the club, take a minute or two after you take delivery to give your dealer a review! Let's continue the trend of making it easier for future MINI's owners, giving them as much information as possible to assist them

jb, you're close, right?

HI DB
I am getting close. The Takamine is supposed to arrive next Saturday, with my mini delivered to the VPC. I figure I should get my BRG Cooper by the 25th. If I get reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally lucky, maybe I will have it by the 19th.

Remind me,how long did it take yours to get from the VPC to Crevier and ultimately your actual delivery? I am getting mine from Irvine.
thanks
JB

mine landed on the 17th, at Crevier on the 28th, picked her up on the 30th. I know that the VPC process can be longer or shorter, depending on when your MINI gets off the boat (First In First Out), and what has to be done. Looks like the 19th will be close, but I think I'd put my money on the 21st.

Hello Hazzard.

I too live just outside of Seattle and am waiting (not too patiently) for my MCS due here around mid January.

Make sure you check out the ClubMINI site on groups.Yahoo.com. This is a MINIgroup forming here in the Northwest and they are having a fun run on January 25 up Chuckanut.

Hope to see you there.

The takamine are only about one week away from solid ground! We are getting close, oh so close. (me counting the days? Nope not me!)

Looks like the January clubbers are going to easily meet the "hit" challenge set by Rygold. We passed the 5,000 mark today?

Barky, are you set for tomorrow?? Will it be delivery day?

JB

Ugh, my MINI seems to be AWOL, along with all the others on the Hual Triton. Neither the Wilhelmsen site, nor the OL have been updated to show that any of the cars got off the boat on 12/26. OL still says "en route" with delivery on 1/6, but Wilhelmsen says its still on the boat (which I know cannot be true).

Up until mid last week ASKMINI was telling me everything was on schedule, but then backed off and said that it was unlikely I'd take delivery on 1/6. Beyond that, they haven't been able to tell me anything.

Sobelmini found out there is some sort of back up causing delays in getting cars to the VPC (oh, dear, it's my MINI's first traffic jam!). What doesn't make sense is that the Don Juan, which came in about a week after the Triton, has had its records updated on the Wilhelmsen site to show that the cars have been offloaded. How could that shipment make it to the VPC before the Trition's?

Waiting is hard enough, even when you know where your baby is. But waiting and not knowing is just plain torture.

I took delivery on Saturday of my MCS. For all of you out there that have been waiting for quite some time, I can only say this: It is worth the wait! I hope you all get your car soon.

Hey, can I come back to the January Club? I STILL don't have mine, and my estimated delivery date was 12/20! Seems there was also a delay in getting Blanche onto a truck after she was released from the VPC (she was released on 12/26, didn't arrive at my dealer until 1/3). Must've been a major holiday slowdown.

Anyway, I went to the dealer and filled out all of the financing paperwork -- now we're just waiting for the certificate of origin so they can register her. Won't be long now -- I hope!!

I thought that if your car is unloaded, it is at the VDC? I have been told that release from VDC can take 4-21 days. Mini International of WI said there cars usually take 7-10 days. East coast dealerships supposedly can take less time. If there is some kind of traffic jam, maybe it'll take longer?

Our car is on the Jingu Maru (anybody know what the name means??) and is due to arrive the 8th or 9th in NY/NJ. Still hoping for deliver at the end of the month.

Hi Bruno
CONGRATULATIONS!! Great news that you got to start motoring!!

Motoringirl
Well, once you leave the club, you have to beg and plead to get back in. You were supposed to be motoring by now. We were all so jealous!. You will have to clear it with "Ma Barky". After all, she is the founder of the club.

Well, OK, I guess we can let Motoringirl back in the club.

I called ASKMINI today to see what the scoop is on the traffic jam. They are saying that the hold up is just from the holiday and they should be caught up within the next couple of days. I know the cars from the Don Juan were off loaded in Bayonne on 1/2 and Wilhelmsen has updated their site to reflect this. For those of us on the Hual Triton who were supposed to be off loaded on 12/26, we are still waiting for Wilhelmsen to change our status from "loaded onto vessel". Sounds like a "first in, last out" kind of situation at the port.

MJC1880, welcome to the January Club and to MINI Cooper Online! You'll find a great wealth of info on MCO and I encouage you to read through the posts voraciously...it will certainly help you fill those idle hours while you are waiting for your MINI to come home.
