I went to my dealer this afternoon and discussed the post warranty extension they are pushing. It costs $1750 for 2 extra years after the 4 ys/40,000 mi. warranty expires, extends it 2 more years (6) or until 100000 which ever is first. My credit union has the a similar plan, 90000 mi/ 2 extra years for $1395, both can be financed on the car loan. Anyone have any experiences with thier dealer?
I also purchased a Memrex MP3/CD R/RW player for $59 at Radio Shack. Has a line out jack plug, hopefully plugging into the HK jack the dealer promised would be there. Takes 2 AA battaries, or a 4.5volt power supply.
The plan is to set the player in the Moss Motors cubby installed beneath the radio on the rack, then power with the 12v accessory plug, hopefully the song list will show on the radio dial, or at least the selection lists, we will see and keep ya'll informed.
But then again, I am over way the top waiting for next week's delivery.

Hubby surprised me today with a little gifty: a set of Audiovox GMRS 1200 radios! Actually, they are being shipped and I should have them before my MINI arrives.

Being in after sales service (not in the automotive industry), most of the time, warranty extentions are high profit items for the dealer and not utilized by the consumer. They require exacting maintenance at your cost, and only cover major components. However, with such a new vehicle, one does not know what kinks may show up that might make your 1700 "cheap insurance"
Be sure to read all the fine print and review the requirements to keep the extended warranty valid. Also be careful of who is carrying the paper on the extended warranty. I have seen many a "warranty" company fold making the extended warranty worthless.

I am going crazy. My MC was supposed to leave the SC VPC on 12/31 and be at my dealer by 1/2. I called Ask mini and I keep getting different information every time I call. The person that I spoke with today told me to check back NEXT WEEK to see if there had been any changes the status! She also told me that when an estimated delivery date was set, it does not change. So there are absolutely no updates for me. :???: :???: :???: :???: :???: :???: :???:

SW ask mini and they said that my car is mostly likely at the distribution center but they have not be notified yet. They said it takes forever for therm to be notified and dont know when it will happen. i checked the vessel that my mini was on and it was the DON JAUN and it was docked on the 2nd and my car was taken off on the 3rd so hopefully i will receive my mini not to much after the eta of 1/10....So some good news for anyone on long island Ny where there eta is jan 10 and there car is in bayone N.J ..good luck to all please keep checking and giving all of us news .....if you are from Long island...we can help us all with this wait.....thanks to you all for you help through this wait...my birthday is Jan 8. hoping for a miricle......

How many cars do you think they really have at the vpc in Bayone? Theres only 3 dealers in NJ and dealers are only allowed a handfull of orders a month. Whats the big hold up?

the bayone dpc also takes cars going to new york ....I think that there are alot i also heard there is a back up from the holidays....wait is killing us all including me......hang in there ..call ask mini for updates just give them your production num and they can tell you where it is and about how long ....they get updates every so often..( 1 866 275 6464) ask them about the bayone keep us updated....what was your eta on the owners lounge mine was 1/10 so hopefully it will come soon...good luck --

Just to clear up the issue of the "clam dip".
That was NOT, repeat, NOT, left over from the November Club. We ate absolutely nothing in the Clubhouse even remotely related to fish or anything that dwells underwater.
The water in Lake Ontario (where I am) is hardly swimable, let alone digestable, so no clams here.
Might be cotton candy, however. Wonder how it got in the fridge? I thought I last saw it on the couch. Hhhmmmm....
(And congratulations to you January Clubbers now taking delivery of your MINIs. Wait until you see how fast February goes, now that you've got real wheels!)

As of yesterday - the 7th, I am still not in the VPC (or is it VDC - I see both). My estimated delivery date was 12/31 from Prestige in Mahwah, NJ. I have heard some first in/last out rumors, so for that may mean good things for those on the Don Juan - mine was on the Hual Triton and was unloaded the 26th of December
I go back to work on the 13th, and I think now it looks like I may not pick up my baby before then
In the meanwhile, I continue to work on potential names for my girl: Tatum = Joy, Arden = passion ---both apply.
This club is great, though - it really helps me get through the wait. Thanks to all.

Hey mjc1880, I have the same est. delivery date 1/10. Askmini told be I won't be seeing my car by then. This stinks. I waited 6 months but the last couple of weeks are killing me. ahhhh!
