spoke with askmini and they told me similar responce that my work order was printed last week and to check back in a couple of days they havent recieved any updates yet.....i thought that my mini would be on its way to the dealer by now ....I am really dieing here.......good luck

 

Hey folks,Just spoke to Amanda at ask mini.She told us that our work order has been issued but they have not started to work on the car yet.She said call back in a few days.I was hoping we would be motoring by this weekend.So we wait just a little more.No big deal.It's really hard to wait but I know it will be worth it.I will call again on Thursday.See yah.Jaydawg.

Just got confirmation that my MINI made it through the VPC in record time. "Agent Cooper" arrived at the VPC on 1/9, had his work order printed on 1/10, and was released to the carrier today! Whoopee!

i kind of miss this club. maybe we should start a drivers club. anyhow i thought i would tell you how long it took to get my car so you could hang in there alittle longer. made it in country on 3 dec out vpc on the 16th so it was ready at the dealer on the 20th. so i think it has alot to do with your dock workers and where it is is the ship. it is worth the wait. mini usa called today and wanted to know how i chose a mini. and also how the who experience went and i told them i needed a fun car and that the experience was great. they asked me what i would use as a word to describe my new car all i could say was wow!!

"Agent Cooper" is headed for Chicago. He was on the Hual Triton (the ship before the Don Juan) and sat at the port from 12/26 through 1/8 before getting to the VPC on 1/9.

I've heard that I should expect the truck to take 2-3 days from Bayonne to Chicago, then maybe a couple days at the dealer getting the extra goodies put on. I've got my fingers crossed for a Saturday delivery.

The MINI perma grin has already started and I haven't even seen my baby yet!

I can't wait to get that call! I chose MINI for a few reasons:

it is the affordable dream car (for me, anyway!)
it's a MINI car for a mini person (I'm 4' 10&quot
it's the car that made me decide I had to start driving again (haven't driven in 8 years)

 

Thanks for answering back!!! THat is good news that means they are now on the cars that were in the Don Juan I spoke to ask mini today and they said my work ticket was scheduled for sat. and that i should call back tomarrow to get a update we will be driving bf we know it ....My car got to tthe VPC on 1/9 and 1/10 was the date they put a work ticket on it......Thanks again ....

 

Don't worry Januaries!!!! My car was stuck at the VPC for almost two weeks, but the day my dealer got it, he had it ready for me later that afternoon. The first drive is INCREDIBLE!!!!!

That check list will come in handy. My MCS was on the TAKAMINE. I can't wait until it gets to the dealer. The Oxnard VPC is about 20 minutes from me. I'm thinking about playing hooky tomorrow and taking some digital pictures of the lot. What's taking them so long!

Wow, must be so hard being so close to the port, knowing your mini has to go to your dealer! Would be neat if you could snap a picture of the minis all lined up.

I just called Mini and mine is still waiting for transition to the VPC. The person I spoke with said as a guess, about another two weeks given it my mini hasn't moved to the VPC yet.

Looks like we are right on track with what others have indicated about their waits. Soon enough we will all have to breath into bags to catch our breath like Barky did yesterday. Patience, Patience, Patience.....

Did any of the January clubbers come over on the Maersk Wind that docked in Port Hueneme on 12-26?
If so, how long did it take for your Mini to go through the VPC? Just being silly trying to determine their backlog.

I couldn't resist and drove up to Port Hueneme this morning. I think I scared them a little bit. They wouldn't let me on the lot. No visitor's center. Nothing for the public to see. I've never stalked a car before (or a person) but I gotta admit I felt a little sneaky. I tried to get as many pictures from the street, but security stopped me. I saw a bunch of BMW's and Rovers there, but only about half a dozen MC's. Does that mean they're on the trucks? I saw a lot of transport trucks, but they were all covered so I couldn't tell what was on them. Am I a bad person? They won't take my MINI away, will they?

I'll try to get the pictures posted tonight if I can figure it out.
How do I do that anyway? They'll be in jpeg format. Can anyone let me know?

 

I just got some info from miniusa. They said my car just got to the distribution center today, 1/14. Let's see how long it takes from here.

Congratulations!! that is great. I called askmini about 4:00, and mine still has not made it. But... my dealer did contact me today telling me it looks like they should receive my mini about the 20th. Looks like I will be motoring by the 25th!

You are one brave soul taking pictures at the port. Be really neat to see them. There is a complete topic dedicated to posting a picture.
