I"M OUT. Picked up my MCS late yesterday afternoon, it's all I expected and more. The driving lights work great (and look great), and the dealer did a great job installing them. I wish I was motoring today instead of working, need to get familiar with my car and rack up some miles.
I'll try to keep in touch.

Oh I forgot, I TOO AM OUTTA THIS STINKIN' CLUB.

P.S. The wait was long and frustrating, but well worth it in the long run.

 

Congrats Barky...really neat picture, I will try to equal yours, hopefully a pix of the State Capitol Bldg. at night.

 

Congrats, JFeinstein! Doesn't it feel good? A Monday delivery is a killer, though, because you gotta wait for Saturday to really get in a lot of motoring fun. :smile: )

The list of deliveries is great. Thanks Barky. Break out the champagne and the cigars. I thought it was getting a little lonely in the club room. I can actually get a seat on the sofa.

I am giving my seat up this Friday. Last night I started having sleepless nights in anticipation of picking up my car on Friday. I leave Syracuse tomorrow for the trip downstate to Westchester Mini. I am nervous about the weather as it continues to snow and I have the performance tires and would love to get the car home to my garage clean. I don't think it is possible.

Anyone familar with New York State will get a chuckle; my sales advisor offered me a "vehicle in transit" license plate. I then pointed out to her that Syracuse is in the same state as the Greater New York metropolitian area. It is a constant mindset where New York city residents think "Upstate NY" is Westchester county (A county in NY State 25 miles north of New York City) and anything further North is Canada! I sometimes wish it was Canada. Barky it is probably similar in Illinois between Chicago and downstate.

 

Well, here I was yesterday diligently working away, when I get this very excited voice mail about 1:10 from my wife to call her ASAP. So I call back a while later and she tells me "the dealer called...our mini arrived this morning and is now ready for pickup!!"

So I place a call to the dealer and ask "when can I pick her up?". He answers "anytime" and of course being the patient person I am tells him "I'll be there in an hour and a half!!"

The moral of the story.... I am "OUTTA THIS STINKIN CLUB" as of yesterday!!!

For those of you still waiting, I can only say as other have.. it is worth the wait!

Thank you all for your support. It sure made the time go faster. Although I am "outta this stinkin club", I will continue to participate until it the refrigerator is cleaned out and the door are closed!!

Updating my status, my work order was written this morning at the VDC in Oxnard, CA., expected Del date to the dealer is 7/24.

Speaking of dealers, mine sales person, when confronted with the proverbial aux input in the HK question..."where is it", told me to call askmini, who then got so upset that the deale pushed back, they called the dealer with me on the line and the Big Dude manager promised the Sr. Tech would call me back today with the details....interesting

Thanks for the update, but I am still on the Hercules Leader. The ship will be going through the Miraflores Locks this afternoon. I am due to arrive in Port Hueneme on the 28th. With the inspection times and transit to Seattle, I am looking for a 02/14th delivery. I have in fact settled on not being able to get "Tigger" before then, so my wife and I will be spending from 02/02 until the morning of the 14th at our second home in Reno. I am hoping to pickup "Tigger" on the way from Seattle to Olympia when I fly in on the morning of the 14th. It would be nice to drive him home after the short flight.

Okay so I know I am a late January club member. I have been quietly sitting in the dark taking solisce in all the information you have provided so far. But now I am getting anxious and can't hold back any longer.

Miniron it sounds like all your dates match mine except I don't have a work order yet!! I also have to get my baby trucked to Denver after finally getting through VPC. I hope I will still make it in the January club but not sure.

I thought I would take it one step further and join into the banter to try and ease the wait. Thanks to all for your help.

I saw it.. really.. today... it was BEAUTIFUL. I know it's mine because I have the VIN memorized :smile:. I'm having them put in a junior seat and the winter matts too.. can't wait to pick up my BEAUTIFUL MINI :smile:. We're all paid up so we're just waiting for the paperwork.. so hopefully I'll be leaving you all early next week at the latest! (no offense :smile: )

An addition to the January club statistics -- My VR/W arrived in NYC on the AIDA 1/17, and should be on its way to MINI of Peabody as I type. No hard facts on the pick-up but the Owner's Lounge estimates 1/24... maybe I'll get a call today! (a girl can dream...)

Moritz MINI has finally received their Texas license, and MINIs are rolling in. Rob tells me they may receive my MCS today, so I've set up a pickup time for 1:00PM Saturday.

On a D'oh note. A lady in my office drove her husband's new CR/W MCS in today. It's identical to mine except for the lack of bonnet stripes and leather. Oh well, it's georgeous too.

Hey, Okie, maybe I'll see you at Moritz this weekend.

 

Rick, Rob at Moritz says mine will come in next week. I'll get it on Saturday! Those people are sure great to work with. Richard Mills called today and offered 4.75% for sixty months through MINI Financial.

Mini-rolls, I was still holding out hope that you might squeak in at the last minute on 1/31. Regardless of your delivery date, I still consider you at least an honorary member of the January Club.

hbh, you be careful driving downstate to take delivery. I didn't realize you were up in Syracuse. <straying off topic now> Syracuse is where my mom lived as a kid. She went to Porter Elementary back in the early 40's. Even though the school was really old when she went there, it is still in use. Are you anywhere near that area? <getting back on track now>

And finally, welcome to MCO, Reb! Glad to hear you've been gathering info and finding comfort in our little clubhouse. Congrats on your first post and I hope to see more of you on MCO!

 

barky: tell us about the HK sound system. Nobody's reported in from any Clubs how great it sounds. I think the January Clubbers are the first to get it.
