Hey there everyone .....Good luck to those who are getting there minis real soon!!!/// I have been motoring sooooo much havent had anytime to check in with all of you....Hope everyone is doing great...just washed my mini at the do it yourself car wash and it started to snow 10 min. later.....anyone on long island have a group of mini oweners who meet??

I had a small scratch by the tail pipe and a vibration in one of the rear speakers. Chose to get the alarm in and take care the other small stuff next time . I found myself going to the door tonight to check on my new baby. Wow!!!!!! The waiting is over.

Well, now I am starting my second waiting period. Now that Mr. Bean is in the garage I am waiting for good weather to drive him. It is -5 here and about 3 inches of new snow on the ground to add to our already 100+ inches. The roads are slippery because it is to cold for the tons of salt on the roads to be effective. I do not want to drive him in this crap. Perhaps I will remodel my house and put in a big picture window to the garage so I can sit and admire my MINI. Now waiting for Spring.

 

hbh I fully understand the weather issue. I used to live in Alaska and we had very similar weather. They never salted the roads, just sand so it was always dirty. Plus under the snow was always a thick sheet of ice. Not much fun to go motoring in.

Barky, were do you live in Chicago? I just moved to Denver from there in October. How's the weather, I here it is pretty cold. My husband is on a business trip out that way.

Hello everyone.
I have been AWOL. The waiting and the obsessing and the waiting and the obsessing and the waiting...became too much so I unplugged from this godforsaken 'club' for a few weeks.

The good news: our car has arrived at the dealer (yee-ha!).
The bad news: our car is in Milwaukee and we are in Seattle (=more waiting and obsessing.)

I won't be able to get there until the end of next week. So, am I a January member by way of delivery or do I become a February member by way of pick-up?

Can't wait for that drive home!

this is really lame...I cannot get my digital mini shots from my hard drive to the Member Mini site....I suppose since I have an Apple iMac, it won't work, anyone in our club that has a Mac and can downlaod the pictures directly into the member mini thread?

Sure sounds like you are having fun. Keep ahead of the werewolves. Your mini will easily out manuever them.
For your pics, you can place them on a public site, then create image links to a post in the club. that way, you can park your mini in the club!

So are you having fun......

I am still on the boat hopefully off on Wednesday. I talked to MINIUSA today to find out why I do not have estimated delivery date on the OL page. They said to just hang in there. I would like to hang them.......Then they said I should have my MINI by the end of Feburary. I started yelling at them, I wanted to knon what is wrong is wrong with the car for him to tell me that. He side stepped that question and referred me to my dealer. He said they may have more information them him to provide me. What a load of BS..I know more than the dealer and the dealer gets the info from MINIUSA. I think my MINI is going into intensive care...........will let you know what I find out.....

Wow, that is bad. Sure seems like it is worth calling the dealer. I really think they do know more at the end than MINIUSA.
I emailed my dealer just before mine arrived at the port and they gave me an estimated date that was only 1 day off from actual delivery. I think at the end, the dealer does know more as MINIUSA still said my car was wating for a truck at the VPC when it had already arrived at the dealer.

Hang in there.... once you drive the car, you will forget all the waiting, frustration and anticipation as it really is worth the wait. It is the most fun you will ever have driving a car.

hbh, I have my fingers crossed that Syracuse will have a freak warm spell. On the plus side, your MINI is close at hand and you can always go visit in the garage. Just make sure someone knows where you are....you might spend so much time out there that your family issues a missing persons report.

I live in Streeterville near Navy Pier. The weather, in a word, sucks. It's been very cold and blustery. There is so much salt on the roads that I have to turn off the DSC or else Agent Cooper occasionally wants to stall. Fortunately, I haven't stalled yet, but have had a couple close calls. And, of course, he is covered in salt. I suppose I should have thought about that before I ordered a black car!

Have you tried Imagestation.com? I set up a free membership with them yesterday and I found it relatively easy to use, although I am on a PC. I would think it should be as easy on an iMac.
