hjacobs, that's great! I still cannot find anything on the Bellona. I have contacted NYK Shipping and Port Hueneme for info. They have not responded yet. Unfortunately, I do not know where the Bellona sails to first. I am sure it makes at least one stop on the east coast before heading through the Panama Canal. I will just sit tight and wait.

Bummer, it won't dock until the 1st of aug. that is 15 days! What's with that? It should only be a 10 day trip. A stop in NY should only take a day. Weird.

I suspect that many dealerships overestimate. That way, if production and shipping take a bit longer than they really expected, the car will still probably meet the schedule. Lets hope this is the case for you; otherwise, you might have to get some valiums.

I ordered the end of May and was told to expect mid-september delivery. The car was finished with production July 4 and it should be in the states this week. My guess, and I might be totally off base, is the car should be in my greedy little hands by mid-August, not mid-September.

But, look on the bright side: Waiting is all part of the MINI experience. Chances are, if you didn't wait for your new car, you probably bought a Cavilier.

On Order - for how long?

For those of you that are still On Order... how long have you been at that status?

I got my production number on June 30th. The OL website updated me to On Order (with the correct colors) on July 2nd. Now, over 2 weeks later, I'm still On Order with no specified production date (from ASK MINI).

Just trying to see if everyone seems to be lagging or if it's just me

You can see by my previous posts I'm in a similar situation. I got my production number on June 28 with status 112-Scheduled for daily production pack. There was never a change on the OL website so I called 1-866-Ask-Mini on July 9 and production was complete! The website has never been updated - so call now! Just have your production number to give to the friendly little automated man who is happy to update you!

My problem is I have been listed as "production complete and waiting to be released to the carrier" for 10 days! Either the whole system is lagging or I am still sitting on the dock. I've also read of people who never showed up as being shipped and all of a sudden the car was in the states.

Sigh...I'm leaving for a two week vacation with no computers or phones today. What are the chances I get back and my Mini has arrive in CA???

Okay, so now I know to actually talk to a Customer Service Rep at ASKMINI. The recording always said "scheduled for production with no confirmed production date', but after talking to someone, I'm confirmed for week 33. Guess I'll have to start a August production date thread.... since I'm not longer a July.

there's asking, and then there's ASKING.....

ASK MINI's automated ssytem seems practically worthless - it is so far behind reality that it is worse than no information at all. But if you ask to spak to a live person, they can usually give you much more up to date and accurate info. I got the automated "scheduled for production with no specific construction date" message for a few weeks before I punched "Zero" and spoke to a real person. he said I was "estimated to be built week 31 or 32." Not great, but better than nothing. Now, a week later, the automated system still says "no production date."

There are obviously some weird things going on with scheduling. The Anthracite headliner may be delaying things, the Chrono Pak, or my red/black cloth/leather. Also, I believe that West Coast dealers may have gotten earlier builds in order to make up for extended shipping time so that the 2005's will hit the street on both coasts at the same time.

2005LY - I've been in the "On Order" status since june 28th.

I haven't talked to a live person yet at ASK-MINI yet. That is going to be my next step as my MA has been no help in getting any information. I don't think it can be the Anthracite headliner or any of the option JoeDentist has mentioned holding up production I've got none of those options, yet I'm still waiting....

2005LY, I am no longer on order. I completed production either Sunday or Monday depending on which customer service represenative I talk to. I think this automated stuff and OL lags real bad. OL still says I am on order or what not.

I'm wondering why they even have all of that online tracking stuff if it's never up to date! Oh well, I feel better now that I know Katie's journey actually has a starting date!

I wish I could say that was a possibility but it is a long ride to CA. I knew my ship had sailed because WW no longer had record of my VIN which meant that it was transfered to another shipping company. Is yours still showing a record on the WW site? Once you depart Southampton count on 30 days for the trip the a week to 2 week to get your car after it gets to the VDC. I know it is a long wait, but all my friends on the May build thread claim it is well worth it. Hope this helps.

The whole problem is I have never shown up on the WW site. The only message is "awaiting release to the carrier". My MA says I'm still in the "production section" and the next one is "produced not shipped". I'm confused and my head just hurts from all this stress!

I'm going to chill in the White Mountains for a while and see what shows up when I get home. So glad to know you are sailing and counting down the days!!! Can't wait to see the pics!

I call the MA today just to see what he knows. He says it should be finished with production. I see on the WW website that it is three days in transit to the States. The Mini website says it's awaiting transport. Who are we to believe?

Received an Email from Mini today asking for my preferences, radio station presets, door locking, headlight on time after shutting engine, DRL's....filled out my preferences and emailed it back.
Seems they will be presetting my prefernces at some point. Nice.

Was that from your MA or MINIUSA? I haven't gotten one yet. I want options. How cool is that.

I'm not sure where it originated, but it did have my dealers name listed on it- they also ask you about the music you like to make you a cd.

also received in the mail from MiniUSA yesterday a small bok called the "Unauthorized Owner's Manual"
Lots of fun , if you haven't yet received one- you should ask for it.

Ok, so now that the Jingu Maru and Caribbean Highway have both docked in Charleston, I guess the next question is: Is the VPC there at the docks or do the cars have to be shipped somewhere else to get to the VPC? Reason I ask is my SA keeps telling me that my car will not be at the VPC until Friday....

Does anyone know where the VPC for Charleston is?

T.
