cloth/leather seats

The cloth/leather seats are new in 05. As near as I can figure out, the option on convertibles is black cloth/black leather, and on MC and MCS hatchbacks it is red cloth/black leather. The cloth is on the seat backs and bottom where the blue section is in a lapis blue leather seat. The cloth is described as "octagon tartan red cloth" which sounds like it should be plaid or something, but is a solid red with an octagon shape weave. I specifically asked my dealer if the red was available with the purple outside, since it was a weird combo, but he said he checked and that the order was accepted into the computer that way. I noticed that the "robot configurator" now up on the MiniUSA site has the red cloth/black leather option as feet for the robot, so you can see what that looks like.(at least as robot feet) It is a nice two-tone seat with a racey look. Best of both worlds.

I thought that this would be a popular option on Chili Red cars, but no one has indicated they have ordered the red outside/ red upholstery car.

Hello all,

I have been sitting on the side line until now to jump on to this thread. My MCS completed build around 7/9. It has been loaded oboard the Patriot and has set sail yesterday. I tried too tracking on the Ocean Weather Website but I cannot determine the call sign as there are near a hundred vessels named Patriot on US Coast Gaurd's website. I narrowed down to 3 cargo ships: C6RQ7 WQVY and 9HFX7.

The Ocean Weather Website's Marine Observation map does not zoom. Near major ports the call signs are overlap on top of one another making it impossible to read.

Greystreet,

Were you able to determine the call sign?

Here is my 05 MCS configuration that I ordered in May:
PW/PW with Chrome Mirror Caps
Cold Weather Pack
Star War Xenon
16" X-spoke
MFSW
Cloth seats

Planning on the JCW once the 05 kit smoke is clear. Other accessories planned are front and rear fogs, Clear tail light cover (if available for 05), Sony Minidisc + Minidisc changer + MB Quart Speakers, Garmin 2650 GPS, Euro shelf, R-compound tires, Miltek exhaust, Diamondracing seat covers, Cold air intake, Aero kit front grill only, MC space saver spare.

It will be weeks before I receive my Mini because it has to be shipped from Classic Mini to Oregon.

It will share ride with a number of other Minis distine to the West Coast mostly in CA.

We're in the same boat...not literally though. My MINI's actually on Caribbean Highway, but I have had no luck finding my ship on the ocean weather website either. The ship's crew submits weather data on a purely voluntary basis, so I guess the sailors are just not doing it. We just have to have faith that our MINIs are on their way.

Hey Zociac

Welcome to the "not so patiently waiting" thread. I can't help you on your ship's call sign, but to make it easier to find any particular ship, try clicking on the observation table. It's in the upper right on the marine observations page. It should bring up a large list, with the call signs in alpha-numeric order. From there, I guess you can find its coordinates and more easily find the ship on the map. Good luck though. I haven't had any luck with my ship at all.

Speaking of really frustrated I can't figure out why our production was complete on 7/9 and it is still awaiting release to carrier. Even cars completed a week later are booked to sail. Think I'll call and talk to an actual person... I'm trying to hang in there but

Edit: Actually, I think I've answered my own question. No one is on a ship headed for California. The earliest we could travel would be 7/18 on the Undine. Keep the faith!

bmovierat,

Thanks for the tip. That is cool. I tried but I cannot find any one of the three call signs I narrowed down.

CSW: We are in California and are booked on the Bellona. On the WW Cargo tracking site look up this booking # GBSOU243245 to see if you are on the ship. We are still booked on the ship, we just haven't left port yet.

Thanks! I couldn't find our VIN and Ask Mini says they haven't received an update in a week! I'll keep looking and hope he shows up somewhere!

I just got an update from 866-ASK-MINI: my MCS went into production on 7/15! I'm at status 150 when they last checked. Estimated completion date is 7/27.

Winechic, I am also on a ghost ship. Bellona is not on the WW site either. I have no info regarding departure date or arrival date. Maybe we have to go undercover since we are west coast bound.

My first post here.

I'm booked on the Resolve after missing the Medea which leave Southampton for NY on the 17th.

Anyone else going to be onboard?

Luke

My first post here:

Found this info on the Emden, I am scheduled to be there too.

Just found a ship called the "Emden" on a diiferent shipping line:
http://www.kline.com/shipping/Vesse...car-carrier.htm

http://www.kline.com/Company/contactKLine.asp

http://www.klineurope.com/

Trying to find more info....

Also, someone else found that according to the Southampton Port info site, that the Emden is arriving Southampton 6:00 GMT and departing 12:00 GMT

...but , no schedule?

Vessel Tracking Across the Ocean?

I have too much time on my hands while waiting for my Mini to arrive.

I was unable to find my ship Patriot in the Pacific that set sail on 7/14. Anyone else able to find his/her vessel with the right call sign?

- Vince

Panama Canal webcams

For those of you on the west coast, here are some webcams on the Panama Canal. Maybe you can kill time watching for your ship to come in:smile:
