I had heard that you're supposed to tell your MA what options you wanted, but I didn't realize that they contact you about it. Pretty cool. I'd be interested to see what they put on your CD, hjacobs475.

Hey when I put my vin in the:

web site. I get a "No tracking information is available for the Cargo ID you entered" response. My poor little mini is sitting on a dock since Monday waiting for a boat to come.

Anyone know how long it takes to get a boat and to get the cargo listed?

Well, I spoke with Julie from Classic today. She's simply the best. My car's been charmed so far -- it is the fastest '05 through the system, and will be the first '05 Classic receives. It is at the VPC right now and may arrive at Classic as early as next week.

But...

They weren't expecting my car for at least another two weeks. The truck I'm scheduled to be delivered from Classic on (to the West coast, where I live), isn't planning on leaving until late August, to give the rest of the '05s in the delivery chance to catch up and get to Classic.

But...

There is a truck leaving August 2 with an earlier batch of orders. If I get out of the VPC and over to Julie in time, my CR/CR/CR (dash!) will be in my hot little hands by mid-August.

Julie said she'd try to put a rush on my car. I've got my fingers crossed, but trying to keep hopes down.

 

wow... that is awesome... pls. post some pics of your new baby when you get it.... I can't wait for mine.... it's currently in production..... so I guess I'll be jumping back on this thread from the Aug. build one...:smile:

winechic - here's an update... I just went into production TODAY!!!!! HOORAY!!! after checking almost daily for status ( i know, a bit obsessive), my ASK MINI rep told me that it entered production today and should be done in about a week..... hopefully, the OL will reflect it soon... although, I'm not optimistic about that.... in any case, a little panic has settled in since I still have to sell my 2003 PS/B Cooper..... any takers out there? only 8k miles on this beautiful little thing.... http://www.getccnp.com/minicanyon.jpg ... sorry for the plug....

Just spoke to MINIUSA, Jimmy didn't leave Southampton until 7/20 . Oh well at least he is finally on his way. The estimated date of arrival to California will be August 12th. If everything goes smoothly, we should be picking him up late August.

I finally talked to a live person at ask-mini. My MCS will be born on week 32.

 

I'm sailing the Resolve. Arrival to NYC on the 26th.

 

One more thing... Anyone on the Resolve- it appears that the ship will be arriving a day early. The 25th instead of the 26th.

Hugh? I know that it arrived at the dock on july 19. But did it leave a month ago? It must be a typo. Looks like it departs tommorow and arrives in Charleston on 4/8/2004.

 

ninjamini, when i tracked the freedom on the WW website, it says that FREEDOM will arrive and depart South Hampton tommorrow, 7/24/04. Freedom will then travel to the US where it will make a stop in Brunswick, GA and then onto Charleston on the 4 of Aug. It looks like we are on the same vessel:smile:

I ordered my '05 MCS on June 29th....
I was then told i got a Week 32 build date...
How did that happen (as my salesman said i would take delivery 2nd week in Aug.)... boy was he wrong!!
Now, the sales manager said i could be looking at 1st or 2nd week of sept.

Did i get hosed?

i had a similar thing happen to me. did you order from mini of manhattan? i put my order in on june 29 for a 2005 mc, was promised a production number a week later, and didn't get it until this week! i was originally told that the car would be an early august build. now that i have a prodution number i called ask-mini and they are telling me first week in september! that means i probably own't see the car until the end of september at best... i feel your pain dude.

Figures... i got mine from Westchester BMW... Both Manh. and West. are the only BMW approved Mini dealers and work the same. I feel for you as you might be worse.

ask-mini says week 37 - but also said it could easily move up to more like the end of august if things go well. they mentioned that they have been really cranking the cars out...but who knows. maybe he was just trying to make me feel better...lol... imagine a job where all you do is talk to anxious people all day about hwere their cars are!

I'm scheduled to be loaded on the Freedom today, too. Hope everything goes well and we're all put on the ship for its departure later today. I remember the last time I was waiting and tracking in late 2002 and there were always a few that didn't make it on board, were loaded and then removed, etc. I hope to see that my MCS gets loaded and the ship gets under way.

 

Dont tell me that I might not make it on the Freedom. How would I know?

 

I am in the USAF living in Germany. I placed my order the first day the 05's could be ordered. Today I got back from a week long training exercise to find out that my New 05 MCS is here. To bad the only person that can do the prep work for delivery is off work untill Tuesday.:smile:

I assume it was delivered to you in Germany? Not back home in the states? and if so, by having a German-delivered MINI, are there any differences between your car and one ordered and delivered here?
