Just got a call from my salesperson at Baron. Bad news she says. Your car came with the H-K sound system. I didn't want the H-K system I say. She says I know. I don't know why it came with it, but it is on the car nontheless and we can't take it out. So, that will add another $550 to the price. I say, no, you go tell your SM that you guys are going to eat half of it, since this is NOT what I ordered. She put me on hold for a few, then came back and said ya, thats cool.

So, I now have a sound system I didn't want, but I get the car. Eh..what ya gonna do?

I sure wish that was the kinda bad news my dealer gave me gave me.

 

I would not have paid for the HK. Not one cent. If the dealer told me no then I would have spoken to MiniUSA. Thats BS.

I agree -- post some pics! I haven't seen any pictures of this color combination, and I was tempted to get it, too. (Got CR/CR instead.)

 

I think that was more than fair on your part. On the upside, you get the better stereo for a fraction of the cost. I had mine spec-ed with HK, because on the test drive, we tried the same cd, Massive Attack's "Mezzanine", on both the standard and HK systems. The CD features very heavy bass and the difference was night and day in each of the vehicles. So, even though you didn't order it, I think you'll be happy. :smile:

 

It was late when I got home with it last night, and the pics I took weren't very good. I'll try to take some more soon!

 

On another note, my MINI is at the dealer. Is anyone else unsatisfied with how difficult it is to track these vehicles? I mean, I have a better idea of where the $6 trinket I purchased on ebay and had shipped UPS is, than this $24,000 car.
It's all good now though. I'll be picking up the MINI I dubbed, "The Chad Martini" on saturday. I'm tempted to drive to the dealer tonight and take pictures though. But, I'm afraid it will be parked inside and inaccessible for me.

 

No other car manufacturer gives anywhere near as much info as Mini. I am happy to know what I did.

 

I didn't have a problem with tracking until it reached US shores. I could track it as it was getting built, as it was loaded onto the ship and making its way across the ocean, but once it got to the VDC, nothing. The uncertainty only lasted about two weeks, but I was hoping to have more concrete data. Oh well. All's well that ends well.

I just checked the Charleston port website and see that my HB/W MCS is now scheduled to hit America this Saturday 08/07 instead of 08/11. I just hope they get to keep to the new schedule and it gets out of the VPC fast.

 

Picked up the as yet unnaned MINI today...WOW is it PURPLE!!!!!!


Now, if someone will tell me how to post pics, I will put them up.

I am still at the VDC It has been like 5 days! When oh when will my little care ship. Owners lounge says my edd is 9/3, I sure hope it is wrong!!!
