Ok, for those of you who haven't heard, there are two very very strong, and very reliable theories/rumors floating around. The first is that the EPA has not released the '05's, so they sit at the VPC. This is on MotoringFile.com. The other is that MINI/BMW is waiting until the official model year begins, which is sometime in August or September.
I am going to KC tomorrow to get away for a couple days, and my salesperson tells me that the BMW regional rep will be at their dealership for the day. She has arranged for a meeting between myself and the rep. I hope to get a straight answer from him/her. I will be taking my laptop and will fill you all in as soon as I can. Needless to say, I am slightly p*****d off about the whole deal, as I am sure a lot of you are too. Hopefully answers tomorrow!!!

All's fair in love and buying MINI Coopers. Beautiful pictures. I love the color, that was our second choice. Love all your options too. You will certainly be the envy of everyone in your barracks.
How are you getting the beast back in the states?
My husband was in the Marine Corps, and when they deployed those guys, usually each one was alloted a certain amount of weight on the ship back home. Depending on rank, it was usually enough to ship a car (but not much else). Is that how it works in the Air Force?
Congrats again. Be sure to tell us your first impressions.

Congrats Minibeast1!!!
That is so great! I have no doubt that we won't hear from you too soon because you'll be out motoring. Now don't we all wish we were in Germany.
Everyone else- Let's try and stay calm. I seriously doubt the wait will be very long. The VPC can only hold so many cars and more are arriving daily so I am sure they will not hold out on us too long.
Let's a sit down and take a deep breath............now isn't that better. It will be OK, our MINIs will be here before we know it. Happy thoughts.

two dealers that they have recieved their first '05s.
2005 US MINIs Delayed No More
Gabe / July 28, 2004
This comes from frequent contributor Foolsdragon:
Well, I didn't want to believe it, but it's true; the hold up was because the VPC didn't have the 2005 stickers ready! We just got an e-mail from our regional rep saying that the ship blocks have been removed and they're going to start releasing cars from the VPC to the dealers.
I don't know if the stickers were delayed because of not enough information or anything like that. For all I know, they just didn't have any with a new design ready to print on.
That means those on the East Coast of the US could be seeing deliveries any day.
Update: Well that was fast! We now have confirmation from two dealers that they have recieved their first '05s. Aparently the first batch went out unnoticed a few days ago.
Totally off topic...I finally sold all the used barrels that I have been trying to get rid of for months!!
This is nicely balancing my huge disappointmet at seeing that my Esimated delivery date is more then a month away and I will have to have someone else take delivery of my MINI

Good news, bad news.
The good news: my Mini is at Classic!
Picture below! (Stripes got omitted somehow, but are being added now.)
So I think I've got the first picture here of a Mini in the U.S.
The bad news: The truck leaving Classic on Monday is full!!
I'm going to have to wait until the next truck, which may not be until late August. Julie is trying to arrange for an earlier truck, but doesn't know whether it'll be possible. Boo hoo!

Hi Guys,
Sorry for the delay. I forgot to grab my laptop when I left. Ok, well I think by now we all have read or heard about the post about the window stickers at the VPC. Which is a hell of a lot better than the info I got from the sales manager at my MINI dealer. Here's my tale; Arrived Wed afternoon in KC. First stop, Union Station, check out the whole remodel and place called Science City for jr to go play. Do that then head for MINI dealer. Arrive there, and I already know my salesperson has the day off, but I still wanted to see if the regional BMW rep was still around. He wasn't, and would I be interested to see the new cabrio? Sure. So go down to the MINI section of the dealership and sure enough. A BRG cabrio MC with tan interior. Nice little car I must say. So here is this cute little girl sitting at a desk with some guy who is going over some sort of paperwork with her. She looks up and asks me if I needed anything, so I say well no, just popped in to see the new cabrio and find out why my car hasn't made it here yet. So she asks my name, and pulls the file. Turns out she is the accessory manager. She got me for floor mats and a killer deal on invisible bra
. She and I are talking, and this guy is sitting there listening. As soon as I mention "Internet, rumor, NAM and MF all in the same sentence, this guy goes off on me like Oprah chasing a hoho. Tells me he is sick of hearing all these rumors, people on the net don't know squat. blah blah blah. Ok, so tell me why my car isn't here? He says, "because they haven't been relased to the carrier yet". Huh, no kidding! Well, why haven't they? "Look, we are just as concerned as you, because we don't get paid until the cars are delivered". Long story shortened, I was about 3 secs from saying screw you, give me my $500 back and I will call Classic and wait. But, accessory girl distracted me with shiny trinkets and he wandered away, over to "SALES MANAGER" office! Turns out he is the SM for MINI at this dealer. And, I suppose like a lot of them, a clueless wonder.
So, go back yersterday to meet my salesperson Lisa for the first time. She is very very cool, and I show her all the info on Motorfile and tell her about the coversation the day before. She just kinda chuckled and didn't say much about it. I think she knew what the deal was but can't say anything. So anyway, we talked for a bit and she said that as soon as she had a bill of lading from the carrier with my car on it, she would call me. Hopefully we get the car this week.
Oh almost forgot this part. They have a little area "boutique" if you want, with all kinds of BMW/MINI stuff, shirts hats etc. Lisa my salesperson took me up to show me all the stuff they have, and the boutique manager, (a very very hot 19 yo blonde!
) grabs this shirt that has a pic of MINI and the caption under it says, I have one and you don't. I looked at Lisa and said, I can't buy that! SHe says why not? It's a nice shirt. I said yes it is, but until I actually have my car, I'm gonna look pretty dumb in that....Lisa laughed, 19yo had no idea what I was talking about.
Well, thats my story and I'm sticking to it. I could tell you about the red M3 or the white 6 series on the show floor, but you guys don't want to hear about that....
